We spent six nights here late April/early May. We found the staff on reception friendly and helpful and when we asked for a replacement toaster as ours was broken and extra blankets these were brought up to our apartment quickly. The one bedroom apartment was comfortable and very clean. The beds were firm and comfortable, they were two single beds pushed together with single bedding so don't know if any apartments have double beds. There was a large TV in the lounge and another in the bedroom. There was a bath with over bath shower which was powerful and had plenty of hot water and and a bidet. There was lots of storage space in all rooms. We were able to buy large 5 litre bottles of water from reception but you have to ask as these were not advertised. You can also buy wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks and crisps from reception and there is a small vending machine and hot drink machine. The area was peaceful but we could sometimes hear a bit of noise from the people staying above walking about/moving furniture. The decor was smart and neutral and the two sofas in the lounge were firm but comfortable. It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach where it was 15 euro to hire a parasol and two sunbeds, 10 for parasol and one sunbed. It's just a few minutes walk to bus stops, e.g. we went to Alcudia old town on the bus. It's also a few minutes walk to several convenience shops and restaurants like Sparrow Bar and La Maina and a bit further to lots more restaurants. The weather was not great while we were there so we didn't use the two pools but they looked very nice and saw the one we overlooked being cleaned daily. The WiFi worked really well throughout the apartment. We paid to hire the safe which we think was 3 euro a night and the island tax 3 euro a night. The front door has a double lock. I would like to return.
Las Velas is the best! My family and I have stayed here several tomes but this time it was just my wife and I celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff, the facilities and service is 1st class great place to stay.
We stayed here for a week at the end of the season. The apartments were clean and basically equipped but it was everything we needed. The location was great within 10 mins slow walk to the beautiful Sandy beach. The beach is great for small children really safe with little or no waves. Close to bars and restaurants, supermarket not far, certainly in walking distance. The staff in reception could not be more helpful, simply brilliant. The maids also were very accommodating. Thank you for all your help. Will be back again definitely.
My wife and 2 kids (9&6) have just returned from a fortnight away and will be booking a return as soon as possible. The 2 bedroom apartments are large, clean and well positioned by the pool used by younger families. There are also 1 bed places on offer as well. The staff are fantastic, friendly and make the resort feel so special. The location is great...10 min walk to the beach and endless bars and restaurants. The kids tended to congregate at the pool table to use the wifi but it always felt safe and secure with lovely families sharing the load on making sure the kids were staying out of mischief. We will be back for sure ....it's perfect
At first we were a little worried that these apartments were too far from the Centre but we thoroughly enjoyed the walk in along the sea front, which at a very gentle stroll took us about 15 mins. Taking the road down past the Fergus hotel there were several bars and Spar shops. There was a lovely beach bar at the bottom of the road. We particularly enjoyed the Palm Bar with its fantastic evening entertainment. We had a second floor apartment which was very clean and a good size. Towels changed Tues, Thurs and Sats when the apartment was cleaned. Bed linen wasn't changed in the week we were there, but that was not an issue for us. Fridge, microwave and two ring Hob and plenty of China and Cutlery. Lovely gardens and very friendly staff. Two pools and very clean around the pool area. We've been to Puerto Pollensa many times and will definitely rebook these apartments when we come again. Our intention was to self cater but found cost of food etc had increased and not much savings to be made, so we changed to eating out in the many lovely restaurants in the resort. We had a lovely holiday.
Had a fantastic week at ground floor apartment..perfect as we hired bikes.staff very helpful and friendly..ximo and antonia..so informative..thank you .we also had a upgrade..to hobby club top floor apartment..which was amazing..so many thanks to paco..we will defo stay here again.
The location, for us, was excellent as we always use public transport and Las Velas is on a bus route. The room was fantastic; quite large for 2 people, with a lovely patio for outdoor eating. It was quiet when we were there so, apart from 2 or 3 people on sun loungers, we had the pool to ourselves. Las Velas apartments are only 10 minutes to the lovely beach. There you will find a variety of restaurants to choose from. We were delighted when we found a lovely nature park in the middle of the town. It has a large lake with ducks, egrets and other species of birds. A lovely walk. The staff at Las Velas are second to none. Xisco and Tonia were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the area, particularly walks through the mountains and printing out bus timetables for us. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We arrived on 27th august for one week, 2 adults and 4 kids ages 9,7,3 and 7 months. Having been to Puerto pollensa last year at the other end of the resort I was confident I knew what to expect. I'll start by saying check in was quick and easy and staff were very helpful, the apartment was ok, basic but clean and reasonable in size, not huge but acceptable. The balcony was huge. Pool areas were clean, pretty and ice creams and drinks can be bought from reception. It was a quiet set of apartments with just a few people by the pool in the day. The beds were not great for us, the sofa bed was rock hard, and I was quite chilly at night with fan on I did need the thick blanket. Now I'd read it was just 10 minutes walk to the centre, that was a good 30 minutes for us with 4 kids and it's not the most interesting of walks, unfortunately we all felt we much preferred the other side of the resort and to walk along pine walk on an evening. There isn't really much around the apartments, a couple of bars that serve food, the large fergus hotel but a lot of residential and apartments, and a couple of spas. For some reason we really struggled with finding places to eat, it wasn't a lack of restaurants it was finding one that had enough of a variety for all of us, we actually found alcudia old town to be much better at night and the quality of food was better, maybe we made wrong choices of restaurants. Having previously been all inclusive the price of self catering was quite a shock and we spent all week counting money. In fact it's the prices that's put us off self catering holidays in future, it was just too hard with 4 kids for us, especially being so far from the main restaurants. One plus point of the location though is it's just a couple of minutes to bus stops to take you to alcudia in one direction, or to pollensa old town, or the port pollensa or formenta in the other direction. There are other buses too but we just used them for these places. All were lovely and we would recommend getting out and about as the scenery is lovely, however just be aware bus drivers were never consistent. Some charged us just for adults some for everyone inc the baby some for adults and the 2 eldest. We were told by one driver everyone over 5 is chargeable but some were just in foul moods it wasn't just rude they were pretty offensive, one drove off in alcudia before I had chance to get the baby out the buggy and fold it he just shut the door in our faces. Anyway to sum up the apartments, very helpful staff, clean, quiet and very low key, however if like us your kids aren't completely happy with that and want a bit more entertainment it's a long trek to find anything happening. If everyone's Hungary at different times and you have young kids it can be quite a chore getting to the square or port, there are buses but they finish quite early coming back. Whilst there were kids there ours just need a bit more going on to keep them from bickering and I also admit I did miss the atmosphere that comes with the hotel, we actually tried this to see if we would prefer villas, but I think I can say I'm going back to half boards or all inclusive whilst the kids are young. The other thing that coming with a lot of kids obviously there's a lot of pots and mess, I cleaned and washed up as much here as I do at home so whilst I'm not lazy I do like a break on holiday. I would say these apartments are great for couples or people who are literally using it as a base or those with really young kids who will sleep in pushchairs on an evening and allow them to stroll into the resort for a nice meal. If you have toddlers or kids that need to burn energy on an evening I think you need to be more central.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at these lovely apartments. We have visited Puerto Pollensa on many occasions, but this was our first time staying at Las Velas and we were not disappointed. The reception staff are brilliant and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. Apartments are spacious and clean, with table and chairs inside and on patio or balcony. Only negativity cups are small so would recommend packing 2 mugs if you like a cup of tea. We had a light problem with our toilet not flushing whilst there, but again reception sorted it and made sure each day it was ok. Pool area at the back was very quiet and on most day only 2 or 3 couples used it, children's pool was. Usher, but still sun beds available, towards the latter part of our holiday children were due back in school so the pool was even quieter. There is a small bar in reception where you can purchase drinks, crisps, ice cream. Location we found is great, just straight over the crossing and down towards the beach, shops etc, it is a little further to walk up to the centre square but no more than 15 mins. The grounds of the apartments were immaculate and the whole place displayed a great ambience. Would certainly recommend and would definitely visit again.
We stayed here for 2 weeks in August. This was our 2nd stay at Las Velas having previously stayed here August 2015. It has changed a bit, the reception has had a makeover and looks much brighter and welcoming and the apartments have also had a facelift, new furniture and furnishings. We stayed in a large 2 bedroom apartment and were very happy with it. 2 lovely swimming pools for the children to enjoy, my son made plenty of friends and there are plenty of sun loungers. Pool does not open till 10am so you don't get people bagging sun loungers at riduclous o'clock, people generally started putting towels down at just before 10am and there were always lots left at lunchtime so plenty to go round. 5 minute walk to the Spar and Eurocop supermarkets and the beach and about 25 minutes to the marina. It was really nice to see Antonia and Xisco still working here, they are so friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help you. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back, next year all being well
