Stayed at this hotel only for one night at reception the lady was just changing shift and was fairly abrupt when we asked for the pool she slammed the card on the desk and said 2 streets down behind the hotel when we went there could not believe it was shared by 3 js hotels so could not get a sun bed. We have stayed at 2 js hotels one in canpastilla the other in alcudia which were very nice so it was disappointing that js has put its branding on this run down building great location but needs refurbishing.

We stayed in this hotel a few weeks ago for a week. I found it was very good value for money, the view from the balcony was to die for. We took our meals in the sister hotel opposite and I have to say the breakfast was very good and there was always something appetising to eat at night. The hotel staff were very attentive and friendly, especially in the restaurant. The rooms were adequate and spotlessly clean. I found the towels and toiletries were replenished and the overall hygiene was faultless. Nearby there are plenty of bars and restaurants. We used the Red Lion pub which was a great night out, with friendly owner and staff and smashing music! We had a great time and I would happily recommend the Hotel J.S. Horitzo

We stayed at the Hotel Horitzo for 7 nights in May 2017 & were very pleased with our accommodation. PLUS points- Fantastic location, right on the beach, if you have a sea view room as we did you wake & go to sleep with the sound of the sea! Very clean room & all areas of the hotel & its sister hotel (Js C'an Picafort) where we had breakfast. Polite & helpful staff, particularly Francesco & his team in the restaurant, very attentive. Nearby private pool, with free sun beds/ parasols/loos which was relaxing & quiet if you wanted to be away from the beach.The pool & pool area was very clean too. Lots of good restaurants within a few minutes walk from the hotel, with anything from all-day breakfast, local food, wonderful icecreams, tapas, paellas, steak, sandwiches & snacks. Our favourite was San Remo (the best paella & mussels & wicked icecreams & cocktails) Lots of shops, mostly for tourists, but a few nice clothes shops, local ceramics, jewellery & leather goods. MINUS points- Not much to do for (older) children other than the beach & little train that travels around (45 min trip) If you have a room at the front of the hotel (as we did) you can hear the music from the hotel bar & restaurant below, but it didn't keep us awake. Breakfast is not very varied.

We stayed in JS Horitzo for eight nights during our first visit in the island. The hotel is quite central and very close to shops and bars. From our room we had a clear sea view, as we requested during our booking. Although, the room was above a night club so it was a little bit too noisy but we still managed to get a good rest. The room itself was quite spacious with a nice size bathroom. Unfortunately the housekeeping did not meet the standard for a three star hotel. We had to ask few times to get fresh towels and they never refill shower gel and shampoo. In addition the room had a safe.We thought it was a good idea to use it until we were told at the reception we had to pay £21 to rent it for all week! We are well used travellers and we have never come across something so absurd. Finally, we completely fall in love for the island but we won't stay in this hotel again.

View from room was great with the terrace. Room itself is very small and a bit ran down. We were on half board, breakfast good, except the horrible coffee. Wasn't happy with the dinner: more about quantity than quality. U need to by drinks for dinner, water is not offered. No fridge in the room which we missed. Was a cool holiday but wouldn't return.

Absolutely worthed its money. We had sea view from our balcony and we were falling asleep with the sound of the waves every night, which was ideal for summer holidays. It was clean and the staff polite and helpful. The rooms are too small ,though, and it definitely needs renovation.

In one word, I would call this hotel a NIGHTMARE. The furniture was rotten, bath was rusty, all the details were more like in some hostel in central Russia, than a Mallorca's hotel almost on the beach. We arrived at 1am after a long journey, so wanted to sleep and relax (and we also had our 3yrs old daughter with us). The room was stale, so it took us one day to change the air. Also we had luck, that the week was pretty windy weather, as the air condition was almost not working. There is a closet in the room, but we loathed to put anything into, because of the "old-house" smell again. The room also had a TV... Well it was like 20" TV, so we didn't even switch it on. The door from room to balcony were so difficult to open, that my wife had to ask me every time, she wanted to go to balcony. We ask the reception to change the room, they were kind and offered me the same room on the third floor (we stood on the first floor), but the offered one was same as ours. They gave us also a cot. I asked the reception to remove it from the room, it was looked very dirty, photos included. What concerns the food (breakfast nad dinner) - if you want to stay alive, try not to eat in the basement of JS CAN PICAFORT. The food seems to be artificial there, made by some crazy chemistry maniac. Go to the cafeteria on the first floor (where the reception is located). The food is much better there, but still nothing, what you would like to eat in 3* hotel. Fruit juices are articifial as f*... Oh and they will offer you €3 cola or beer for dinner. In the shop next door, it costs €1,50. Also I would like to point out cleanliness of glassess on the tables. All the glass were grotty, probably form the dishwasher, but it looked very unprofessional. Cutlery was probably older than me, see photos. Only reason I didn't rate just one star is, that the hotel staff was kind and friendly, even the room-keepers. All the staff speaks spanish, english and german. If you would sleep in a tent on the beach, you will have the same comfort, but save pretty much money. Wifi connection probably depends on moon-phases, otherwise I dont understand, how there can be such weak and unstable wifi connection in 3* hotel, in 2016! And, there is not even a small minibar/fridge in the room, so be aware of that, mainly for summer season. And if you would like to use a safe, the fee is €21 for one week, so you will almost buy it!

Yeah, room was small but we had no problem with that. Everything was cleaned daily and bed sheets changed every second day, so this was perfect. If you are not used to small beds, book twin bed. Width of our double bed was about 140 cm only. We had room 205 with view to the see right behind the corner, also fine. Reception is across the street and breakfast is also served there and there is a lot of various food and everything nice. Pool is behind the main hotel near El Gaucho restaurant (which I recommend!) and it is clean and very good. In room you have to put a card in a slot to run electricity for air conditioner and lights but at night it is buzzing and I found it annoying. Streets at night are noisy but you barely notice it in the room. WiFi has not strength signal but you can browse the internet just fine. Oh and there is no refrigerator. We give 3 stars.

Last minute booking left us with this hotel, No reception, which is across road in sister hotel, where staff are abrupt and liars. Treated as refugees , meals taken downstairs in basement, lovely view of feet , whilst residents of hotel are upstairs dining, even alfresco options. Meals always cold, being trolled through back streets from central kitchen. Interesting interpretation of porridge!~ with cornflakes!!. Menues do not deliver as stated, Rooms fit in size for a budgie, bathroom door can only be opened 2/3rds, so torso needs to be in bedroom to bend over sink to clean teeth, and no bidet. No fridge supplied, although e-mail sent requesting such. Microwaves have not been invented at this J.S. group by the way, chefs strut about but are only tin openers. After being flooded through rain entering through patio doors, (told at reception was to be expected), we ,were moved to J.S. Sol, massive rooms in comparison. Must say hotel was kept clean, but bedding changed only every seven days!!, yes in that heat, even after constantly asking staff, they are more interested in hovering the corridors. Ask for a front sea view balcony, if you desperately need to go to this resort, which we would even avoid in our nightmares. German influenced,, which has never bothered us before,but has rubbed off on the local population, who will be ignorant and arrogant and rob you in an instant.

My partner and myself were booked into the sultan which looked quite dated. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to the horitzo. I was quite anxious about this as you hear some horror stories and are powerless to sort any issues whilst abroad. We were really surprised when we saw the hotel, the staff were really helpful, checked us in and offered us a complimentary glass of cava at the bar. When we went to our room I was disappointed as we didn't have a balcony but I spoke with staff and they sorted it straight away and apologised to us. We were given a smaller room but it had a sea view and beautiful balcony. Breakfast and dinner is what you normally get in these hotels with fresh bread, eggs spanish bacon, plenty of fresh fruit, cheese and meats. If anyone is expecting English food then don't, this is part of going on holiday! The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels given and the beds made. Right near the hotel was an excellent shop that had the cheapest alcohol and snacks in. The pool is nearby with plenty of sunbeds but we had to get there early as people left towels down and would leave (just happens on holiday). The pool was peaceful with toilets on site and it was very peaceful. There was a hotel horitzo bar attached near the beach front that made amazing tropical cocktails with sparkers, long straws and tonnes of fruit. It was such a lovely peaceful holiday, we went on the Palma bus tour which I recommend and on that trip we went on the marco polo boat trip which was also worth the €10. On Fridays there is the biggest market I have ever been too well worth a visit. The hotel had free air con and wifi. There really isn't anything to grumble about with this hotel I don't know why some reviews are negative. Im a fussy person but I was really grateful for this pleasant hotel for the little money we paid. The staff were friendly, beautiful area, stunning weather. What more do you want.
