Before I tell you why we might not return, let me first tell you why this hotel is actually really nice. Beach: Playa de Muro is lovely. Of course, you don’t necessarily need to be in this hotel to enjoy this beach. Nevertheless, the beach is a big plus. Even in October, one gets sunshine from early morning to about 5 pm, so plenty of time to charge the sun batteries. Hotel: Hotel is very nice: beautiful design, lush and nicely taken care of Mediterranean vegetation, and several swimming pools in the midst of it. The area around swimming pools, outside restaurants, and inner halls are all very well taken care off: gardeners, cleaning staff, painters, janitors - they can all be seen early mornings focused on their work. And the outcome is clearly visible: it’s a very pleasant, clean and nicely managed hotel. Restaurant: For the nine days we were there, we didn’t have any repeated menus. The diversity and quality was very good, including some quite unique dishes. For few nights they had special evenings (Spanish evening, Japanese evening, Mallorca evening, Mexico evening) with a specific dishes for those countries, which I found very nice. Staff: 50 points! I really liked the staff, starting from reception to entertainment, to the restaurant staff. They are energetic, uplifting, and fun to be around. They really do put their heart into all they do and it makes a huge difference. I’ve been to several hotels (of similar standard) but I never found such a happy bunch anywhere else. If we ever go back, it would be mainly because of the people working there. Now, why not back: When we booked our room (and we were pretty late, only month before our travel) the only available room was so called “standard family room”. I didn’t realize at the time that there was anything else, because the “beach/sea view” was not even offered. Standard rooms are facing (partially) parking and partially facing a busy (and actually quite smelly) street in the back of the hotel. We had the last one in the row which faced the street. Now, I realize one cannot choose it, it just how the dice fell – we could have been further down (away from the street). But it turns out we had (in my opinion) the worst room. We didn’t feel like opening the window (because of the noise and smell), and additionally, all standard rooms face north so there’s no sunlight. In summer, that might not have been an issue, but in autumn when I came to Mallorca to charge some sun batteries, it was a necessity. All in all, we spent most of our days outside, using room only for sleeping. It was fabulous weather though (almost every day) so we didn’t mind staying outdoors all the time. An the last bit: the hotel and rooms are newly renovated, and one can see that, it clearly looks new. There’s one design bit that didn’t really work well: all the toilet cubicles/shower cabins have glass matte doors. You don’t see everything, but you actually see enough, and as the toilets/ showers open directly into the living area (not a closed bathroom), it means that all the visual, olfactory and audio inputs are there for all family members to “enjoy” while you do you business. We got used to it after a while, but though it might look like a nice design, in practical terms, it’s a failure. So, all in all, it’s a really nice hotel. In my opinion, if we do go back again, it will be only if we manage to book a “sea /beach room”. Hope this was helpful :)
We stayed for one week and had a great time in this nice hotel. No complains at all, very nice staff, good food, great locaction just on the sea side, nice rooms, friendliy people. We can recommend this hotel.
Thank you so much for our holiday, Dear Playa de Muro. We stayed 10 days in standard room pool view. 2 adults and 1 child 2yo. Pluses: kids animation, pools, king ground, restaurant and seafood, friendly staff. Cons: chaise lounges and umbrellas you should to pay and reception doesn't say about it at all. Safe is also for money (is is really ridiculous)
We have just returned from an outstanding holiday in Mallorca. Made better by this wonderful hotel. Food - excellent Staff - amazing Entertainment - wonderful for the kids and ok for us (but this was a break for the kids, as much as for us.) Scenery - beautiful Fixtures and fittings - great sports, new building, clean and extremelly tidy 😊 Our last day could have been ruined by a huge event arranged for a kids sporting organisation. However, Radka (PR for the hotel) came to our rescue - all inclusive and free massages helped us relax again. All in all an incredible stay at Iberostar!
Its a perfect hotel, had no issues at all, and we have been in many during holidays. Great location, great clean rooms with ample space, very nice food for a buffet type. I think the kids entertainment is a bit over the place, like there is no focus on proper grown up entertainment, or starting very late. But I usually don`t like kids disco`s as they are very chaotic for kids (and myself). However compared to other similar places this was still perfect. Fitness sauna and pool is great. The only - thing is the toilet design - the glass door is literally in your face. I would put the person who designed this to sit on it forever.
We have stayed here twice this year. Really good expirience. All the people are nice and service from kitchen and restaurant is excelent. The room is really clean and modern. We got reappy nice view. Food is fresh and tasty. . All ambient of the hotel make you feel like a part of the family. Our big thanks to Radka Guest Service , she is helpfull and nice. I love to drink my coffee in Dunas Bar and watch to the beautifull sea!
We were given a room on 3rd floor at front of hotel above the bar. We benefitted from sunshine on our balcony from lunch till the setting sun ... perphaps more tea most rooms facing towards the sea etc. The music from the terrace outside the bar was enjoyable and stopped at 10.30. The road noise not a problem. The hotel was in a beautiful position sitting onto a beautiful beach and views. We would have enjoyed a prom to walk along or more exciting street walks. The hotel was spotless, staff keen to help us enjoy our stay and the buffet food on offer varied. Not too happy at the shower and toilet being so dominant within the bedroom.
Stayed in a standard room, the room is small, most of them because of their location are very noisy, washbasin is in the corridor, shower looks like a prison, absolutely very limited choice of healthy food for small children (3-7 years old), food too spicy, zero tolerance towards late check-out.
A very nice, comfortable, modern, clean hotel in an excellent location, directly on the sandy beach. Look no further for a great beach holiday! A good selection of tasty food in the restaurant, with a hard working and very helpful team. Very friendly staff, all throughout hotel. Our special thanks to Maggie - Zumba and fitness instructor. Zumba beach party is an unforgettable experience!
Thoroughly enjoyed this short break. Reception staff welcoming and helpful, especially Alex. In fact cannot praise the staff enough for their attentiveness and general warmth. Great job folks!!! Stan and his Bingo antics always made us smile. Facilities were great. Rooms well presented and immaculate. Food readily available and varied to suit most palates. Highly recommend this hotel and hope to return soon. The Burns Clan from Bonkle Scotland
