Very pleased with the standard and quality of the hotel. Our children are in the mid/late teens so there was no need for children's clubs etc. The standard of the room was excellent with air con, balcony, TV and large bed, sizeable bathroom with a fantastic shower. The food provided for breakfast and lunch is buffet style. The choice was huge and quality was first class with many items being cooked fresh. The swimming pool area was well maintained and there was no problems getting a sun lounger. Service for drinks in the pool area was also very good. All of the staff were very polite and helpful. Nothing was too much problem for them. All in all a great hotel in a good location with easy transport links. Would happily stay here again.

This newly renovated hotel is only a few minutes walk to the beach front. We stayed there during 3 weeks and enjoyed it fully. The rooms with a sea view offer a splendid and relaxing view. The hotel staff is very friendly, helpful and very professional. There is a wide variety of selection of foods, especially the fresh fruits and starters. We will certainly go back to there for our next holiday.

A fabulous hotel in a quiet setting. Clean and spacious with good sized rooms and a large bathroom and shower, not to mention huge beds. As usual in hotels no real room for the suitcases. Good sized TV with plenty of English channels although the volume only goes up to 12 presumably so you do not disturb the guests in the next room. Excellent food with plenty of choices Friendly staff, especially in the bar, and reasonable prices as well. Thomson say this is in a quiet out of the way setting on the outskirts of Palma. This is kind of true. It is actually 6 miles from Palma at Les Meravelles, on Playa Palma beach which is probably the busiest stretch of sand in Majorca. The whole area around the hotel is probably over developed and I would suggest you avoid it in peak season. It is close to the airport so a short transfer time and happily no aircraft noise. We were on the top (7th) floor and it was very quiet and slept like a log. A few minutes walk to a good bus route straight into Palma. The 25 is the express whereas the 15 stop every hundred yards! Local tours also collect from the hotel so you can book several excursions to see more of this beautiful island. You are however only a couple of miles from the main German 18 - 30 party area so occasionally groups of rowdy party-goers will pass you by. If you walk to the beach and turn right you will pass the usual tourist shops and good bars and end up at a nice Marina, Can Pastilla, with some good restaurants. However if you turned left you will soon encounter the 18 - 30 bars with chanting Germans and scantily clad ladies dancing on the tables. A really good 4* hotel . Thoroughly recommend it if you can accept the fact that it is in a mainly German area and you will probably be the only British there. A pity it is not open at Christmas otherwise I would be going back in a few months!

The hotel was very clean and staff very helpful. The quality of food and choice was perfect. I felt the pool area to be rather cramped. It would have helped if there had been other English speaking guests to socialise with. ( we came across 2 English speaking all week ).The area was very noisey both from loud music and loud singing youths. The air conditioning was too noisey to be left on through the night but to have doors open was like being at all night disco. With youngsters in next room arriving home at 2.30am and vomiting over balcony until 3.30am.So all in all not a good choice by travel agent for us.

This hotel has been refurbished to a very nice modern standard. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area with many different cuisines to choose from and with a 20 minute transfer time from the airport it couldn't be better situated..so on the whole the hotel is great, but.. After we had checked in we went to a local bar. The whole area of Playa de Palma is a German version of a 18-30's Magaluf. So if you are after a quiet chilled out holiday this isn't the place, unless you like watching people passed out on the beach after drinking all night.

The hotel will be renovated this winter allthough I liked the reception and restaurant old style decorations. Food was great ,some people Who have been before said it has been even better .great pool bar and ever so friendly staff all over .walking distance from the beach .But ...so many Germans if you like German slagers (songs) your in the Wright place ,hum papa....

We originally booked to go for a 4 day break to Palma for a family wedding staying at the Riu San Francisco. A week before we travelled we received advices from Ebookers(who we made the booking with) that they were switching us to the Riu Festival and upgrading us (2 rooms) to their Suites. On the proviso that we were been upgraded we duly agreed to the amendment. The Hotel proved to be pleasant however the Suites rather disappointing as although we had a small separate lounge attached to our bedroom, the room itself looked tired and dated with two single beds rather than a double as asked and furniture & TV akin to a modest B&B in England & certainly not what you expect for a room with a Suite. The WIFI we also had for free at the San Francisco was not honoured at the Festival as you had to pay for the privilege(only available at the Hotel foyer). In conclusion, attentive Service from the Staff and the buffet breakfast and dinner we enjoyed at the Hotel was plentiful with an abundance of quality choice. I would certainly not deter anyone from staying there just as long as their expectations of the Hotel are managed. The "Vectra" in London certainly it is not however it is a pleasant hotel, literally 200 metres from the Beach.

Stayed here since the 21st until the 28th of June. Everything was ok in the hotel. The only negative aspect is the noise coming from the outside during the night, which is natural in a tourist destination like palma de maiorca. I just thought it would be more quiet in this area (we were in a high floor.) Would definitely comeback. (And maybe i will!)

The Riu chain is always reliable and you can be sure of a high standard. This one is no exception. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The food was very good, with lots of choice and friendly waiting staff. There is both an iindoor pool and an outdoor pool and the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the beach. The hotel is set in a very German area, so if travelling alone, it is difficult to strike up conversations. The t.v. In the room was also exclusively German and Spanish.

Bright, modern hotel, clean and comfortable and situated only a few hundred yards from the beach at Playa de Palma. Guests are almost exclusively mature Germans, we did not meet or hear another English speaking person during our entire stay. Bedrooms are relatively small with a postage stamp size TV. Sky News available but reception is very poor. Small outdoor pool area partly sheltered by trees. Food was acceptable, served buffet style and is certainly not fine dining. Staff, as at all Riu hotels, were excellent. Playa de Palma is obviously a German outpost, spoiled by African gentlemen who proposition you with watches and sun glasses every few yards on the sea front walk. Overall we quite enjoyed the Festival but if we returned to Majorca we would stay elsewhere next time.
