I have stayed in this hotel twice this year and had an enjoyable stay. Five weeks ago I booked another stay for October 2017 through Booking .com but had to cancel due to unavailable flights. My booking was 100% refundable without payment and i intended to rebook once my flights were confirmed. Booking.com confirmed my cancellation and that it was free to cancel. Hotel Hispania took in excess of 200 euros from my bank account and only refunded half of this. Despite 5 telephone calls via booking.com and a copy of my bank statement which shows their withdrawal ( 3 months before my intended stay) they now say they have no records of the transaction as it is in the past! They have been very cooperative in refunding my money. This is REALLY disappointing. Booking.com are now going to refund me directly and follow up this fraudulent transaction by Hotel Hispania. This has totally made me avoid booking this hotel in the future.
Hotel is clean and food is above average for the playa de Palma. The rooms are nice, the once with beach view are awesome. Don't miss the rooftop terrace and bar. The hotel is not cheap, but it's a god deal if you book early.
Wife and I stopped over for a week, first time in Playa de Palma, one of the few places in Majorca we hadn't visited previously. A number of negative reviews made us wary but we were so glad we went for it. This is an excellent hotel, well managed, clean and friendly. The location was very good, with our sea facing room providing excellent views of the beach across the quiet road and panoramic views towards Palma and across the bay to Palma Nova etc. Room was generous and clean (wife missed a bath though) but lacking in storage space which seems to be the trend these days. We went half board, and thoroughly enjoyed the generous selection at breakfast, and something for everyone at the evening buffet dinner. All staff were friendly and efficient, including the reception check in which took place around 1 a.m. Food had been set aside for us in the diner, but we had to apologise for being too tired to eat!! Smallish quiet pool and terrace area and an excellent rooftop terrace with full bar/snack service, and splendid views over the Bay of Palma. The only downsides as far as we were concerned were outside the control of the hotel, - namely the groups of noisy mainly German men parading the promenade from early morning till nightfall, usually with beer cans in hand. They were more noisy than intimidating. The other minus for us was the lack of interesting walking trails. We are avid walkers but were restricted to either left or right on the promenade upon leaving the hotel. No variation at all. We ventured east and found the small beach at Cala Blava and westwards to Ca'n Pastilla and the airport. The hotel itself is highly recommended, and the staff do not tolerate any nonsense from the few noisy guests. A good few decent bars nearby. We will most certainly re visit Hotel Hispania, and its proximity to the airport is ideal for late arrivals. We moved on to Soller for the second week, which the reception staff found amusing as our two destinations could not have been more different! Partying the first week, and resting on the second.
After booking and then reading some bad reviews I was a little worried. I took my 6 year old daughter on holiday to this hotel. We got a sea view room which was beautiful. The staff were lovely, the place was modern and clean. Pool was beautiful and not over crowded. Yes a lot of Germans but they were polite and friendly. Nothing bad like the other reviews. The beach was literally on the hotels doorstep which we loved. Airport was only 5 mins in a cab which costed about €18. Food was lovely. The only thing was the street is next to the rooms with a sea view so we asked to be moved to a pool view room as it gets really loud around 11pm. They were happy to help and moved us straight away. I would love to go back there and disagree with other bad reviews. Loved it there and so did my daughter!!
Just back from a holiday in Mallorca. Second hotel during our (myself and my wife) stay was hotel Hispania in Playa de Germany, I ment Playa de Palma :) It is such a german place!!! with loads of german songs, drunk german people, but at the same time it was so much fun to watch how young and old are having fun here! Location : in the middle of busy playa de palma, 1 min walk to the beach (you just have to cross a street) Rooms: We got a room on top (4th) floor facing a swimming pool. Room is very small but cozy Food: We had a half board option. I should say it was horrible as I added good few few KG on top of my weight as I couldn't stop eating :) Every day it was different and so gooood! Top marks goes to a chef here! One of the best dinners I had!!! on the last day we were leaving at 5 oclock in the morning and we were able to have a breakfast Check in/Check out: super fast and all hassle free Few other bits: roof top terrace, with bar, sun loungers, jacuzzi is awsome with a wonderful views. Staff are extremely helpful!!! Wifi was fast and had covereage everywhere. Gym has just a basic tools. Spa with turkish bath, Sauna, jacuzzi and relaz earea is really good and is only €8 foa all day (open only 10-17, which is not the best thing, as it would be nice to stay in sauna later in the evening) I would definitely come back here!!!
We had a triple deluxe room with a balcony that overlooked the Mediteranein Sea. A free wonderful buffet breakfast was served every morning. And we ate there each evening since the buffet dinner was only 11 Euro per person. Lots of fresh seafood and turkey and chicken as well as pork and beef. We enjoyed Mexican night with tacos and guacamole but they also had the full buffet as well. We often had a light lunch on their rooftop terrace where we had a full view of the sea. I would recommend this "party" island to anyone who enjoys an island that is welcoming and friendly as were the staff at La Hispania.
We stayed at this lovely hotel from 2nd April for 5 nights as we wanted to feel the sun again and we weren’t disappointed. Hotel is right on the front, has a lovely rooftop terrace, friendly helpful staff, large bedroom with a good-sized bathroom with walk in shower with two showers – a fixed shower overhead and a hand-held shower lower down so suited both my husband and me. The room was too warm at first but this can be controlled by the thermostat in the bedroom. There is an extensive breakfast with fresh fruit and smoothies being made in restaurant and up about 4 steps is a wide variety of meat, salads, hot food of bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages and omelettes or fried eggs and pancakes were freshly prepared. The ham and cheese toasties could be heated under the rotary toaster at the end table. The toaster was good as the bread could be removed once it was at the level of colour you wanted. Hotel was very easy to get to. We had an afternoon flight and got bus number 21 from the airport to Arenal which took about 30 minutes to get to the hotel and cost 5 Euros. Bus stop is number 487 and will say Hotel Hispania. Bus runs until about 9.30 pm and hotel entrance is in the first road on the right – only about a 3 minute walk. The hotel itself faces the road and very long beach which you can look down from the amazing roof terrace and bar. We had a lovely Paella at lunchtime and finish cooking at 6.00 when the evening meals start in main restaurant. The terrace itself closed at 9.30 pm. Beautiful sunsets can be seen from there as sun was setting about 8.10 pm when we were there. Only down side was the we tried checking in on-line to return but PC at hotel was saying there was an error with the licence and google was not a secure site and would not allow us to go into my account to check in so we had to find a local Internet Café where we could check-in on-line and print out documents which I was wary about but it needed to be done or pay another 50 Euros each. There is a bus stop directly outside the front of hotel where the No 25 – Express to Palma and train station leaves (cost 1.50 Euros) and the Number 15 which both seemed to come every 15 minutes. Taxi back from Palma cost almost 20 Euros but buses run until 11.00 from Palma. There are several bars and restaurants near the hotel – a walk to the left will take you round to the Marina and is a lovely walk in the evening. We stopped at a couple of Dutch bars – one being” Café De Babbelaar” where we enjoyed lovely Dutch snacks and those gorgeous sunsets! I loved it and would go back as the people were so friendly in the hotel and bars and it was so nice just sitting facing the lovely sea and watching the world go by.
I've given a 4, cause there is no option for a 3.5 and cause the roof terrace when I visited was so blinking picturesque and relaxing I can overlook the gripes. To be fair the food was decent and the morning vegetable/fruit smoothies are worth a 5 by themselves. It's a decent looking place and in a cracking spot right on the beach. Food plentiful and varied, lots for everyone. Breakfast pancakes, omelettes, churros and crunchy bacon for me, but tons for everyone no matter your taste. Sausages looked good quality but always seemed a bit undercooked. Dunno if rare sausage meat is a thing in Majorca but not for me. Other than that, cannot grumble at all, loved every meal and stacked on tons of tumber stuffing my face every morning and night. Room was ok, but requested a double and got two singles which were a bit uncomfortable. Could have swapped to a double after complaining, but the room offered was so small we stuck with the singles and the rock hard mattresses in there. Wifi was a bit hit and miss too, didn't need it often so dunno if this is a real problem or just unlucky while I was there. Safe costs extra, not a huge problem but at €100 plus euro a night I don't expect to be paying extra to use the safe in the room. Also as of early May the AC was not available. Didn't especially need it as evenings cool but again, not what I'd expect. Roof terrace is stunning, might be a bit less fun if peak season and hotel's full, but when I visited, this area made our stay and was magic. We found the staff really helpful and friendly and did have a great time. Hotel is recommended by me, but could make a few improvements to fulfil its potential as a really great place to stay!
Excellent service, my wife was really sick when we arrived and we were early arriving but they were very accommodating and very helpful, we managed to get into our room and checked in early so my wife could get to lay down. The room was excellent clean, modern, great view and being right next to the sky lounge was a bonus. Beds were comfy and the bathroom shower was amazing. Only staying for one night and having a sick wife meant we didn't get to see as much as we would have wanted, but I managed to get around and the location is excellent right next to the coastline and with many shops and places to eat. Booking a taxi for very simple we had a very early flight and had no issues with the prompt service taxi came withing 2 minutes
Spent 3 nights here with two of my friends and we had an upgrade as soon as we arrived. First visit to this area and will definitely be back. Great views from the Skybar. It was fab. Weather was fantastic too. Food was great. Snacks at lunch time was great value for money. All staff were friendly and very helpful especially at reception. They even printed off our boarding passes. Would highly recommend this hotel.
