Hotel is a converted 16th-century mansion set right on the water’s edge with a bar overlooking the water a restaurant and a spa area set in the caves. Within the hotel’s sandy-toned stones, you won’t hear a lot from Palma, though it’s just 10 minutes away. Our room was in the separate building across the street connected with a tunnel. Room had sea view and a modern distribution and even a little pool on the balcony. Finish is lousy but although very clean room. The little spa area is in another building with an outside 26 degrees warm water pool. Parking is available on extra cost (14€ p.d.). The stunning seafront location is hard to beat. Surrounding area is in big contrast to the hotel, so you rather escape to Portals Nous or other upscale areas or just enjoy the hotel.

We were thrilled to see the hotel after its refurbishment and WOW, what a change of room. They offer best rooms, the best views and the best personal service of a True 5* Hotel. This is my favorite hotel in Mallorca. Breakfast by the sea is EXCELLENT, homemade buffet breakfast is an interesting journey about mallorcan cuisine. The service is SUPERB, personally detailed from the waiters to the breakfast manager. Reception is very friendly and helpfull. The Spa is Amazing. The infinity pool is out of this world!!! What an amazing experience. We will surely comeback and stay in this Wonderfull Hotel Maricel. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

Went for 3 nights in March 2018 - we had a fab room and amazing service. Breakfast was beautiful especially to sit outside overlooking the sea. Pools were closed cos it was cold and the pool on our balcony was not heated. NOT PARKING ISNT FREE LIKE IT SAYS ON WEBSITE 14€ per night. Apart from that, great!

For my grandparents wedding anniversary, we sent them away for the weekend to this hotel. It looked nice and quaint and a perfect gift for my grandparents. Unfortunately, we were wrong… To start with, the staff were rude and made them wait for their room as it wasn’t ready even though this was after the check in time. The hotel was being renovated but we were not advised of this when we booked and there is no mention on their website. We would have booked a different hotel had we known. It was not the nice, romantic getaway we had wanted for my grandparents. We had booked them a suite so it wasn’t cheap. To add insult, the room wasn’t even in the main part of the hotel and was in a modern part of the hotel that doesn’t overlook the sea despite this being the main selling point on their website. The pictures on the website certainly do not show this modern part of the hotel. Wait – it gets worse! We had booked them a table at the restaurant so that they wouldn’t need to travel out too far because my nan is not very steady on her feet. The restaurant was freezing cold and was too uncomfortable for them to eat there. I knew it must have been bad, as my nan doesn’t like to kick up a fuss but they refused to eat at the restaurant and went somewhere nearby instead, When they returned later that evening to their room, they had no heating and had to ask for heaters to be in their room. My grandparents were extremely upset after their stay and were mortified that we had paid for such a disappointing hotel. They didn’t even apologise for the inconvenience and my grandparents felt they were not treated the way a hotel should treat their guests.

I gave 5 * stars . Why? The hotel is very beautiful . It is in a old building . Restaurant ,very good ,not cheap. Service very high standard. Rooms super clean and nice . Breakfast as well high class. Fitness is very small and 2 minutes walk from the hotel. So this is a bit a suprise . What is for sure a minus for this hotel is noice in the night if you have a room with no sea view . I had it for one night and I be made a change. Rooms with sea view very quite. Overall great experience but do not take rooms with street view.

To wake up to the stunning views that you can see from most of the sea facing rooms is one of the biggest joys of staying here. Its a Starwood hotel and one where ( based on only a single stay ) it would appear the hotel do their very best to accommodate you requests. We had an early check in ( no waiting around ) and a late check out which is the reason to give 5 stars and not 4 since the start and end of the stay are really important in making a seamless transition between the sometimes long journey of home to hotel. Made us really feel it was a home from home feel. The room service was good but the breakfast is especially good value and with excellent assortment of healthy and less healthy ;) dishes complete with attentive efficient service and therefore definitely worth paying extra for especially as you get to enjoy it on the terrace dedicated to breakfasting guests only with again, those very special views across the bay and the cute fishermans boat that would moor there every morning. In November it was about 18degrees outside and the room felt very cold considering the weather outside. However as we had asked for a very quiet room it was located at the far end of the hotel which took less sun in the day. For a warmer room ask for SW facing... however we asked for a rad and this was provided with no problem plus the engineer fixed the AC to allow a higher temperature and the rest of the evenings were very cosy. The hotel has a stunningly designed annexe where the gym is located- about a 4 minute walk from the main building through some nicely landscaped grounds it did feel like a category 6 Starwood once you entered this area. Ideally the rooms in the main building would also be 'spruced' up since without the gorgeous views the rooms were a little depressing with very basic furniture considering this is a category 6.... however the challenges of how much and what they can do to achieve such a high end modern standard with this type of listed building are perhaps one of the reasons why it hasnt yet been done. I really hope they would do so in the future as it would make a huge difference. The car parking is 15 euro per day and the front desk staff, Anais, Javier & Hugo are all super helpful with any/ all Qs. They really helped make our stay extra comfortable. I would definitely stay here again perhaps if in wintertime asking for a room that has more daytime sun.

We stayed at the Maricel in October and had beautiful weather, to match a beautiful hotel. We had a room in the main building and, although it did not have a balcony, it had a stunning sea view. The beds were very comfortable and the bath was lovely. The pool area is well designed and there are lots of comfortable sunbeds overlooking the sea. Bar staff are helpful and efficient - nothing seems too much trouble. The Spa area is small but well equipped. We had breakfast in the sunshine every morning, which was a lovely, relaxing experience. The choice of food - sweet and savoury, as well as cooked to order - was excellent and good value. One night we dined at the Captain's Table (to celebrate a friend's special birthday) and it was a magical experience, with excellent food and service from our waiter. All of the staff at the Maricel have a positive, friendly approach, which makes for a relaxing, comfortable stay. Although the hotel is outside Palma, there is a frequent bus service into the centre, with a stop outside the hotel.

Beautiful hotel, staff were superb, especially Maria Cristina whose hospitality made us feel like we'd visited a million times before. Maricela should count themselves very lucky to have her. The room was stunning and although we couldn't make use of our zen pool as we visited in the winter months it was great to sit out on the balcony anyway. The spa is again beautifully thought out although the weekend we visited it was very busy. We did not eat at the restaurant however we had a couple of drinks in the restaurant and it was literally the best bar I've seen; literally had every alcohol choice you could wish for. We spent Sunday morning just sat on the terrace, with stunning views over the ocean and the sun on our faces. Overall, would highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

I was here for business after season in nobember. I got a room with amazing view for sea. The hotel is located in great place and looks like a castle. It is small luxury and exclusive hotel. The staff very kindly and proffesional. The breakfast in the seaside on tarrace - amazing experinence. Bed in room very good . Shower nice and big. Really like this room. The restaurant is serving amazing breakfast so it is worth to be there. Really. They care about eveeything so it was great time for me.

I came here with friends, just to relax and enjoy the food and location. We had a great time. I highly recommend it The spa is a little bit small. But there are great terraces, and fantastic food. Plus you can walk around the area without the noise of the city
