Stayed in the pollentia for a week a few years ago, years. Everything is fine. Public rooms are very traditional and comfortable. The dining room is very open and airy with doors to the outdoor dining area. Breakfast is a very nice with a good choice of continental and hot English breakfast, the breakfast is probably the best we have ever had on holiday abroad. The staff are very friendly and helpful and located in a lovely part of the town near the beach and coastline. Unfortunately we had a room at the back of the hotel and the outlook over the pool and the mountains. The room was a bit dark and dismal. When we return soon I hope we will look forward to seeing the refurbishment and book a room with a balcony overlooking the coastline.

We came across this hotel purely by chance in 2002 and are so glad we did. We have since returned for two weeks every year and sometimes twice a year. We have made many friends over the years who also return like us year after year. Views across the bay from the front of the hotel are exceptional as are the views of the hills from the back. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is kept spotless although over the years has become very dated. Dining room is light and airy and food has always been more than adequate with a good variety of dishes. Hotel is situated a short stroll from the Port and the main square and the lovely pine walk. Although the hotel has its own individual charm which we fell in love with we are excited about the new refurbishment for 2018. and yes we have already booked and looking forward to it.

On arrival lots of steps to carry suite cases up staff no help Room cold and drab, no hair dryer, no tea or coffee falicities. Ants crawling up on pillow. No Thomson Rep around.after three days , Had to eat in sister hotel down the road . Found out that when we check out the hotel was going to be re furnitured. The day before we booked out the staff were moving television out of previous room that had been checked out. No apology from management 😞

What brings us back, charming hotel, wonderful staff in an AMAZING location! Been to the resort many times now, often walked past this hotel wishing we could stay here,we did...,now I look at other places,,but No nothing compares, this is a wonderful place to relax as you should do on that hard earned holiday. All the staff work amazingly hard, always pleasant. Front sea-view rooms are outstanding, book early for those! Restaurant, very relaxing atmosphere.Stunning views outside.Food is great,we never went hungry and good choices. Pool area around the back of the hotel, such a suntrap,it's lovely. Front terrace,,great for people watching and a drink or two! Delicious lunches served here also. Small front gardens beautifully kept. Am I smitten....yes. Already booked for next year, looking forward to the "New Look"

Decided on Hoposa Pollentia for husband's 70th birthday treat and enjoyed everything about it. Yes, the bedrooms are small and soundproofing poor, beds not the comfiest we've experienced however the spotless attention to detail, friendliness, plentiful and tasty meals and the staff's obvious passion for the business over-rode all that. We had a wonderful surprise on arrival to be upgraded to a sea view room with balcony, which really made our holiday as we were able to sit and enjoy the magnificent views while reading and watching the world go by.This is possibly more suited to the more mature guest ( like us!). We enjoyed the background jazz music and the evening entertainment by guitarists at our and the next door sister hotels. Previous reviewers have already praised the lovely staff and meals in the spotless, traditional dining room. We enjoyed the buffet selections at breakfast and evening dinner on our value-for-money half board. Solo travellers seemed as comfortable and valued as larger parties. My evening g&t was served (with a smile) in a glass the size of a goldfish bowl and was perfect! The pool is quite small, which suited me as it seemed I was swimming more lengths. Quiet, clean and plenty of loungers. It would be a shame if the ground floor decor were to be lost in the upcoming refurbishment as it is so special. Thank you to every member of staff for ensuring this holiday was everything we'd waited so long for.

I don't really have too much to add to previous reviews, save to tell prospective clients that changes are afoot for 2018. All the rooms are being modernised , for some unfathomable reason a swimming pool is being put on the roof.. WHY??? It will AFAIK be adults only (no children (not sure age limit) and the dining room will be menu service in the evening.A lift is being installed to ground floor level. great for those of a certain age and for getting the baggage to reception(Check with the Hotel for full details) Thankfully most of the staff will still be there, Jose Jesus, Maria, Francisco et al, we salute you all for making our stay so fabulous. We wonder if Jesus will be singing at the suggested staff Karaoke night next year(only joking.)(yes Jesus, you know who I am !!) We intend returning in May to see what the effect the changes will have had, but at the end of the day we hope it will still be the same hotel with the same wonderful staff. One should not forget the chambermaids who also do a great job. NB Wifi needs improving and more electric points for charging phones I Pads, shavers and the like.... Thank you so much for a fab stay once again. I can only say we LOVE this hotel, with by far the best view in the village. The view from the veranda is too wonderful to adequately explain in words. Lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely location, beautifull resort. Hotel with great sea view from our balcony, room 310, could do with a little modernisation, which is happening during the winter. The front and reception area of the hotel I hope will remain untouched, as they are lovely area's to sit and relax, could write loads more but to sum everything up a fantastic holiday in a beautifull resort. Can,t wait to return to both.

I just got home from a lovely week in the Pollentia Hotel. Beautiful location right opposite the beach. Fantastic terrace to watch the world go by. My single room was a bit dated but comfy and had everything i needed. I know the rooms are to be updated for next year. I absolutely loved the food and plenty choice to eat. The staff are so friendly and could not do enough for you. The pool was really nice and very peaceful as it was out of season. My one and only negative of my whole holiday happened ten mins before we left to go home. I do know you cannot take food out of the dining room but as we were leaving early and the proper breakfast had not started i made two tiny bread buns to eat on route to the airport as i had a terrible chest infection and needed medication with food. The female waitress shouted at me across the dining room saying i was taking other peoples food. I was mortified especially as she walked away tutting and shaking her head. She could have politely come over to say this bearing in mind we had paid a lot of money to stay in the hotel. To be so nasty over two tiny bread buns was upsetting. I understand rules are rules but there are ways to deal with guests. Needless to say i left my bread buns which would have gone in the bin. Other staff absolutely brilliant and could not fault them.

We have just had our fourth visit to this amazing hotel. I can’t praise the staff enough from Patricia on reception, Jose on the bar, Jesus, Francisco, Juan, Pedro and Gracia in the restaurant to the staff that clean the rooms. It’s lovely to sit on the terrace with a coffee watching the world go by. The beach is just across the road which is great. The hotel is being refurbished over the winter and I hope they don’t change the ambience too much. I must say after reading other reviews regarding the quality of the food we thought it was lovely. Only one grumble the dining room was quite hot and the air conditioning wasn’t on which made it a little uncomfortable at times. Thank you Hotel Pollentia see you next year

Position of hotel perfect, room with balcony overlooking the sea, mountains all around us, fantastic sunrise every morning. Friendly staff, everywhere clean, reception staff very patient & helpful , hotel by narrow road with flat surface pavement ideal for walking or jogging .Good selection of food to choose from in the dining room.
