I stayed at The Flamenco with my 10 year old daughter. We picked the hotel because of the location close to the beach and the indoor pool. And it was a good choice! The outdoor pool was a little bit to cold to be in for a longer period of time, and so it was great to go inside! Both pools were nice and clean, and inside it was very nice with the whirlpool! The room was nice, and had a great side view to the pool and beach facing south! Only bad thing to say is that we could have used some light over the bathtub...! The morning buffet was nice, had everything you could ask for, and my daugther loved the chocolate fountain!! The hotel guest was mostly older germans, a few families with kids, so it was nice and quiet by the pool. Every night there was a show lasting till 22/23 o'clock. We didn't See any, but we could hear Them from our room - sometimes we thougt it was a little too loud especially after 22 o'clock. All in all, great place!
First of if you don't like Germans don't go here, but I personally found it a great hotel even though it is 99.99 German holiday makers in it.Staff in the reception were excellent nothing a bother to them.Hotel and bedrooms were spotless in fact it was the best bed I've ever slept on in any hotel I've ever been in food was excellent even though they catered more towards the Germans. The resort itself was excellent sandy beach is only 10yards from the pool area at the hotel. If you want a drink away from the hotel go to the Sportsmans bar it's run by Tony&Ange Ashcroft their hospitality was first class thanks again to you both will be back next year
I e-mailed the hotel before travelling and asked for a large room as we were travelling with our teenage daughter. Our room 278 was fab! The food was fantastic and the hotel very clean. The majority of guests were German...which was fine as the staff all spoke English. The animation team were fantastic especially Sebastian and jana (think that's how it's spelt) The hotel is practically on the beach but the pool was lovely too. The only down side was my husband had only taken shorts and 1 pair of jeans and the men are to wear trousers not shorts in the restaurant, which in August seems silly to me as it is so warm. As long as guests look smart I don't see why they aren't allowed to wear tailored shorts. Loved the holiday and did not want to come home.
On arrival we were provided with a complimentary glass of champagne :-) Walk out of the hotel turn left and the beach is 50 yards ahead, what more could you ask for. The Hotel itself was excellent in every respect, the food catered for every pallet, all to a very high standard. Dress code IMO is correct, who wants to see people in flip-flops and wet shorts whilst eating. The Bed was memory foam, combined with the room balcony and view (sea) it made a welcome change. The staff were remarkable, the front desk down to the entertainment staff were very good, Sebastian in particular. the Beauty with Cala Millor is everything in in walking distance, Cala Bona, Sa Coma, if you dont fancy the walk then hire a bike for less then 6euros, use the designated cycle track and enjoy! Would also strongly advise getting up early, 6am ish get yourself down to the beach, jump in and enjoy sunrise Cla Millor style, wonderful experience. Lovely holiday, Lovely place, Lovely Hotel, no hesitations about going back, very highly recommended.
We booked this hotel on booking.com on a free cancellation just incase we needed to cancel at last minute. We flew with RyanAir and that was good, we then took an hour and half transfer from Palma airport with Hoppa. It is quite far from the airport, but doesn't feel too long. From the moment we arrived at the Flamenco we were greeted with a smile and drinks, this was fantastic as we had just travelled for a long time without a drink and were quite tired. We quickly checked into our room, we had requested a first floor with pool view but were given a second floor pool view, this was fine of course. The pool view rooms also included a beautiful sea view - our favourite thing to do was to sit on our balcony each evening and look at the view. The room was spacious, had two large single beds pushed together (wasn't too much of a problem with the gap in the middle) we had a TV with mainly German and Spanish channels but we did get Sky News in English. The bathroom was fit for purpose, even had a bath which was lovely. The balcony has a drying rack for towels and swimming costumes, two chairs and a table. The air con was brilliant! When you open the balcony doors, it automatically switches off - brilliant as I'm sure this saves a lot of electricity. It also has three speeds and we only needed it on number 1, sometimes we even got cold in the night so turned it off! Only issue with the room is there is only two plugs, one in the room and one in the bathroom, not great for getting ready at the same time! Luckily there was only two of us. The towels are changed daily and the cleaner does a brilliant job. You can also hire pool towels with a small deposit if needed, Breakfast had a lot of variety, we filled up on a morning with the plentiful options. The pool is overlooking the beach, just the right size, not overcrowded at all, more than enough beds for everyone and no need to get up at the crack of dawn for a bed! People rarely go down with towels on a morning. The lifeguard was very friendly and the animation team were fantastic, lots of activities going on for adults and kids. Pool bingo, volleyball, banana boat in the sea and pony rides to name a few. They are also not too pushy and once you have said no thank you, they are happy with that. They are so fluent at so many languages too - It's amazing to see! Over the road from the hotel is a fab takeaway Italian place which does the best pizzas we have tasted, perfect for the nights we just wanted to relax on our balcony or by the pool. The beach is a few steps away, the total cost to rent two sun beds and a parasol is 13.50euro. It is a beautiful sandy beach, a long stretch along the coast, lovely for an evening walk. Great to swim in the sea too - also lots of activities such as parasail, pedalos, banana boats and jet ski. A few bars are along the sea front (walk left out of the hotel on the promenade) We mistakenly walked all the way to Cala Bona on our first day looking for the bars, we then realised that the main strip of restaurants and shops is a street back from the seafront. You are then a two minute.walk from the main strip. There is a supermarket next door to be hotel, car hire (cheapest is 57euro per day) make sure you book in advance, they are usually sold out on the day. We hired a car and drove around the whole of the island, visiting Porto Cristo, Palma, Alcudia, Can Picafort and finishinf off with our coast. If you drive north past Cala Bona there is a fab view point at the edge of the cliffs, as far as you can go, which looks across the bay. We also drove south past our hotel and towards a little castle in the hills and we found a lovely place to jump off the rocks into the sea. The holiday has been fantastic and the hotel has been brilliant to stay in. After visiting all around Majorca, the beach at Cala Millor is without doubt, the best. The evening entertainment at the hotel is also some of the best I have seen, musicals, circus acts, comedy, amongst others. The main guests are German, not many English guests but that was not a problem at all. Oh and wifi is free and good quality Thank you to the team at the Flamenco - we have loved our Holiday.
The hotel has an excellent buffet! The stuff was very kind and helpful! I liked that they organize every night a different event! I would prefer though that they keep the swimming pool open more than 18.00 because we would really prefer to swim also under the beautiful night sky of mallorca!
Excellent food, both in quality and variety. Men have dress code for dinner, no shorts nor sleeveless shirts allowed. Staff very efficient and friendly, multilingual specially german which is the majority of the guests. Location also very good, just two minutes away from the beach. There is a car rental just across the street. I would gladly return there anyday.
We stayed in this hotel during Easter together with my wife and little daughter. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It is a great location, the staff was very helpful and friendly, the level of service in general was very good. There are plenty of entertainments for kids and every evening there was a mini-performance for adults. The quality of food and selection in the restaurant was very fine - various kinds of fish, meat, vegetables, and fruits. The only reason of not giving 5 points was acoustics in the room - you could hear the noise from your neighbours nearby or above. Other than that we were quite satisfied with the hotel.
The hotel staff is really great, everyone we talked to was very nice and helpful. Almost everyone speaks German and English. The hotel is right next to the beach, so one can get a sea view room. We didnt use the pool , but it looked pretty much ok. The restaurant was the best, with a great variety of dishes all prepared with care. We loved it!
Having read a number of the latest reviews for this hotel I have to say I was apprehensive about staying here. In fact we nearly cancelled the trip. However every review is really someone else’s opinion. Having stayed here for 9 nights, I was pleasantly surprised and very content to the point that I would stay here again. First off there is no on-site parking. However you will find an on street space close by all of the time. Upon arrival we only waited 5 mins for check in where we were greeted with a friendly smile and offered a choice of orange juice or champagne. Nice touch. The receptionist was very helpful and facilitated us in viewing two rooms on different floors to choose from. We booked through booking.com so paid our initial bill in full on the spot which include an additional local tax charge. We then paid a deposit for a key to use the room safe for which you pay a usage per week charge at the end of your stay. Then we paid another deposit for pool towels. At this point I joked about having any money left for the rest of the holiday. We found our room to be quite small and a tight fit for two adults and an active 9yr old boy. With a little rearranging of the furniture, it improved and eventually we got used to less space. The sea view from our room was incredible! The next time I would book an adjoining room as well, if possible. The air conditioning worked very well, and that was during the day as well as night and the Wi-Fi is great. The hotel has everything you could need and it is immaculately clean. The choice of food is excellent and in my opinion caters for all tastes. We were allocated a table on our first visit to the dining room but on day 3 it disappeared however after speaking with the manager the next day it was back again so don't get a shock if your assigned table number goes missing as I noticed it happens quite a bit. The food and choice is so good you won't care anyway. Just wait until you see the desserts.... You do have to wear long trousers but I saw quite a few ¾ length short types pass inspection here, no problem. You can still wear your sandals at dinner too. One tip I would pass on is dinner starts at 6.30pm and there will be a que to get in. However if you wait until7pm, no que and no problem especially if you have kids. The only let down for us was the noise from room next door The walls between bedrooms are solid but thin with no noise insulation. You can hear everything and we were very unlucky that the elderly guest in the next room had night terrors most of the night, every night to the point of torture. The noise was unbearable. I did complain at reception and they did offer to move us should it happen the next night but another guest had told me of a noise issue as well so we didn’t think there was any point in moving all our clothes etc. to face a similar situation in another room. We stuffed our ears with cotton wool and moved the beds which helped. We love the beach which is where we spent most of our time. The beach is rocky in some areas but you’ll soon learn the best spots. We were disappointed with the amount of cigarette butts in the sand but the beach is generally clean. The pool in the hotel is adequate for a dip but not for Olympic training. Despite all the signs and warnings the pool loungers do get reserved with towels from early morning and I suspect some are left on 24hrs. I have to compliment the “Animation “entertainment team at the hotel. They are excellent and so passionate about their role. A good schedule for kids. They really include everyone without being pushy and regardless of nationality. We loved the shows every night, great fun. All in all the staff all over the hotel couldn’t do enough to help you, well done! We really enjoyed our stay here!
