We have just come to the end of two weeks at the gran vista, where we had a twin room overlooking the pool. The hotel is large, modern and clean whilst being placed in a central location for access to the town and the beach. The rooms were well sized compared to our previous experiences on the island. The pools and spa areas are sizable and luxurious, with no issues with over crowding or finding a sun bed. Most mornings we got up after 9 and still found somewhere close to the poolside to sit. Food is average for a four star half board offering and drinks are reasonably priced. The evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss, but the roof top bar is a nice addition for a chilled out alternative. The staff are freindly, approachable and hard working, a credit to the hotel with the management team very visible. A few minor negatives; i.) the food was somewhat repetitive in the second week, whilst to be expected on a two week holiday, the variation week on week just wasnt there. ii) the general cleanliness whilst very high in the main areas, was lacking on the periphery areas which were in need of the same level of attention, corridoors, stair wells, pool side etc. Iii,) the food serving area is disproportionately small compared to the seating capacity of the restaurant, this gave a congested feel at dining times, which I can only assume must be somewhat chaotic in the peak season. Iv,) the maître'd let the side down a bit with his constant playing on his phone when engaging guests and staff. It made for an awful first impression with me, when he dialed a number and made a call whilst I was talking to him. It may just be a difference in cultures but I found it exceptionally rude. All in all a really good stay and we would certainly return to the Gran Vista, for us it was worth the small premium over the other resorts in the area.

On arrival offered a cool drink of orange before registration , the reception staff were so friendly. We stayed in room 123 which had a great view over looking the main pool , the room was immaculate , towels & bedding changed regular as mentioned prior in reviews disappointing no tea making facilities , our cleaner Antonia was lovely made a swan with a towel on our bed with chocolates personal touch it was lush thank-you Antonia. Dinning room : loved the situation were the food area was separate from the sitting area staff so friendly nothing was a bother . The bistro bar was fab as we're the staff . The entertainment area was fantastic , my husband went to the bar to purchase 2 small beer he was given 2 miniature glasses what a laugh thank-you sub director . The animation team fab best ever , Hanna we loved you . Loved loved the roof top bar entertainment on certain nights was great . We were invited to a welcome & goodbye evening free sangria with the director & sub director both were informally dressed they were smart casual mingled with the guest made our stay at the Gran vista fab . The day before we left the hotel at the bistro bar free sangria again introduced to all heads of departments then had a group photo taken . The morning we left we were offered a free cheese roll & banana . Would highly recommend this hotel second to none . Thank-you so much for a fantastic holiday see you next yr .

Just returned from a week long stay at the Gran Vista with my wife and 11 month old. Overall we would rate 3.5 out of 5 and in line with most of the reviews you'll read the hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. We were quite disappointed with the size of the twin room because the pictures advertised by Thomson made them seem a lot bigger and with the addition of a cot there wasn't much room in there at all. I would recommend booking a suite or an apartment if you are travelling with children otherwise you will be disappointed. Our room overlooked a few trees and a road which wasn't nice and it was quite a walk from the main reception area to our room but luckily you can put yourself on a waiting list to move rooms once a better one becomes available which we did and after 2 days moved to a higher floor overlooking the pool and the mountains. Annoyingly the walls are quite thin and you can hear people above and next to you which was frustrating, especially when the cleaners start work at 06:00 and move furniture around. The bed set up in the room was 2 single beds side by side and don't think there are options to have a double. Also as the floors are tiled if anyone above you has heels on then it's very frustrating. The area around the hotel was nice in terms of shops and restaurants but many were German as it is very popular with German tourists and you can see the influence in the hotels breakfast and dinner buffet too. The food was average with desert options being the highlight each day and there were lots of options of where to sit also. The rooftop bar was nice and probably the highlight of the hotel for us. Overall we enjoyed our stay but we wouldn't return. If you have children do not book a twin room as they are much smaller than the pictures suggest.

Myself and husband have just returned from 2 weeks at the Gran Vista & Spa in Ca'n Picafort. The hotel is absolutely excellent from the food, to cleanliness, to the wonderfully happy and friendly staff (who the management should be proud of). There was not one day when we had any complaints about the food as every morning and evening there was something fresh and tasty and I challenge anyone to say there wouldn't be something they would like. Fortunately we were given an apartment when we arrived, on the fourth floor in block 2 which overlooked the sea, so that was an unexpected bonus. The grounds are extensive, with lots and lots of sun beds, so no rushing out to grab one in the mornings. The only thing I would comment on is the evening entertainment which is a bit hit and miss but all the entertainment boys and girls work really hard and are so friendly and helpful (even my husband tried aqua aerobics which is unheard of). There is a roof top bar which is open every night with live music on a few nights and it is lovely up there with great views All in all a brilliant holiday. The beach is only a few minutes walk away, down a shop and bar lined walkway. We will definitely be visiting again.

We stayed in the main hotel, we had a nice room number 253 we were overlooking the back of the hotel so not much of a view but it was quiet. The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms were clean and well kept. The food was not great but adequate sometimes not hot enough and the eggs in the morning were underdone. The dining room was very crowded. Breakfast was 7.45 to 10.30 which was good, but dinner was 18.30 to 21.00 which we found was a bit early to finish and people were often still eating at 21.00 although the staff did not try to herd us out. The rooftop bar is lovely with great views, a nice place to sit early evening. The entertainment was a bit naff with children's entertainment on until 21.00 and adult's from 21.15 although sometimes the children were still running around when theres had finished. We couldn't fault the staff who were always happy to help. The german lady that does the exercise classes was very good although i only did one yoga class, as it was predominantly german I didn't feel i would be able to follow a step class! All in all a nice holiday.

We were greeted with welcome drinks and information about the hotel etc. We stayed in the apartments (not in the main hotel). These apartments were spotlessly clean along with the rest of the hotel. Our rooms were cleaned daily with towels/toiletries/sheets replenished. Our balcony was enormous with table/chairs and a drying rack for wet clothes, towels etc. In the kitchen area a welcome pack was provided which included washing up liquid, anti-bac cleaner, sponge, bin liner and a tea towel. Whilst we were unpacking, our room telephone rang and the reception enquired if our room was satisfactory and were we happy with everything which we thought was a very nice touch. On our second night, we were invited up to the rooftop bar to meet the manager and have a free drink. The food in the hotel (stayed half-board) was extremely good. Catering also for gluten-free plus a children's station if needed. The spa was spotless, very well equipped with pool, sauna, Turkish bath, cold room etc. The treatments were reasonable - my wife had a very relaxing back and leg massage. Our son visited the gym, he told us it was well equipped. The shops/bars/restaurants/bus stops were literally a few minutes walk from the hotel and the beach was a 10 minute walk away. We cannot fault this hotel for friendliness/cleanliness/food and do not understand how some people could give it such negative reviews. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

Lovely hotel with great food, nice bars and lovely rooms. Had a great holiday and would recommend although the hotel area seems to be favoured by our German brethren so a gutten morgan is needed more than a Buenos dias. Internet on the whole quite fast for Spain. Two faults: There is a dog in the neighbourhood that needs to be dealt with, barks at all hours. Cleaning in the rooms about starts at dawn and it is very noisy when they are dragging furniture around.

Stayed here for a week with my boyfriend on a bed and breakfast basis in early September and we had a lovely, relaxed stay. We arrived fairly late, around midnight but were greeted happily by a man on the front desk and some cold orange juice. He quickly checked us in and told us the basics and we took the lift up to our room. Our room was only on the 1st floor but we still had a sea view (and car park view!). The room itself looked almost brand new and was very very clean with a big bathroom and great walk in rainfall shower. We did however find shower temperature to be a bit hit and miss between 6-7pm, presumably when a lot of people were getting ready for dinner. Our room was kept spotless for our entire stay, beds made daily and towels changed if you left them on the floor. Only slight disappointment were the two twin beds pushed together to make a 'double' and the lack of coffee/tea facilities however, this seems to be fairly common in a lot of Spain. You do also have to pay for the safe, a 5 euro deposit and 15 euro charge for the week. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis although it seemed vast majority in hotel were half board - this may be due to the time of year as most guests were older or families with very young children. Breakfast was fantastic, there is plenty of variety to satisfy everyone from english breakfast items to cheese, hams, breads, pastries, cereals and everything in between. The chefs also cook omlettes, fried eggs and toasties for you whilst you wait and on Sunday they do smoked salmon and cava. Food was constantly restocked and we never had any issue getting a table. You can also eat outside which is nice although these tables are a bit more in demand. The hotel has a 'normal' pool set in a large patio area and then a lagoon pool made up of 3 smaller pools and kids pool in a grassy area. There are absolutely loads of sun beds available and plenty of space to put them in - the trees also provide shade should you want it. There are lifeguards on duty too for added peace of mind although none of the pools are particularly deep. There's an outdoor bar which serves drinks and snacks during the day which closed at about 5pm during our stay. You can take drinks to your sunbed in plastic cups too. There's then a downstairs bar which opens at 5, you can also sit poolside here which was nice for an early evening coffee when everyone else had disappeared to get ready for dinner! However, the best bar is the panoramic roof bar. The views are fantastic, all the way out across the bay and we really enjoyed having a pre-dinner drink and a night cap up there every night. The cocktails were really good and a similar price to all the bars in the town, maybe 50 cents dearer which is well worth it for the setting. The hotel is well situated, walk out of the front and across the road and you're on one of the main pedestrianised street with shops, bars and restaurants. If you walk straight down you will find yourself by the beach in under 5 minutes, alternatively take different streets for more shops etc. There is a lovely wide paved area all along the sea front too which is really good for walking round and the beach, whilst narrow, is on a big bay and beautiful. We had some really good food whilst we were here because we looked up places on tripadvisor, however most of them were a 10ish minute walk from the main area. The offerings are largely burger and chips/steak and chips/pizza or cater to the german tourists that this area seems popular with. If you're looking for authentic Mallorca, C'an Picafort probably isn't the resort for you! Finally, a word for the staff at the hotel all of whom were fantastic. Professional but very friendly, they spoke good english and also it appeared german and were always very patient with my boyfriend's attempt to order his beer in spanish and helped him along with additional vocab. They had exactly the right level of having fun and a chat with guests whilst also providing an excellent service. It's a shame that I probably wouldn't return to C'An Picafort itself, it's a bit once you've been once you've seen everything but should I return I wouldn't be staying anywhere other than this hotel.

The most important thing when you have small children is the pool. This hotel has a massive outdoor pool area with 5 different pools! There are two indoor pools as well in case the weather doesn't hold up. I feel that couples without kids would not be as happy because there are lots of families with young ones. 5-star for family friendliness. It's 5 mins walk from the beach and shops it's also 5-star for location. We paid for half-board and it's good value for money. Buffet Breakfast is great with lots of variety. I expect the food at dinner to be a bit better. There's plenty of choice but the quality is only so-so. I will give it a 3.5 star for food. Nightly entertainment were aimed at young kids. Not much to say except there's something different each night and all the kids at the resort seemed to like it. 4 stars for effort.

First visit for 2 of us to this hotel for a 12 day bed and breakfast holiday. Lovely hotel. Very clean. The breakfasts were very nice - choice of sitting inside or outside, and varied choice of food. Bedroom and en-suite were clean and fresh, just a little corporate feeling - all white and grey with a little touch of colour here and there. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. My one gripe is that, having a room at the back of the hotel overlooking houses, we had to put up with dogs barking loudly at all times of the day and night.
