It was dark in the room. The beds were uncomfortable. We checked in late and the directions to check in didn’t work but we found someone to give us our key. We didn’t have parking available near our room. It was exactly what you would expect in a town that only has one or two hotels.

60' s motel fixed up however we were there for only one nite and the area around mallacoota was ab. beautiful. Microwave, cutlery and crockery, large tv, a pool and a pub for meals cannot go wrong

We stayed on our Sydney to Melbourne coastal road trip. It is in a small community that is close to beaches. The desk clerk managed the desk and clerked at the liquor store next-store. Dining options in the area are limited and close early. The motel was old and showed it. It's a place to stay, but don't expect luxury. Best part, there is a holiday park near by and koala bears were plentiful!

Great rooms and very relaxing holiday.

We had a great stay. It’s great to see how rooms have been modernised . Very clean and tidy. Nice to also get a breakfast pack in your room for the first night. Meals are excellent in the bistro. Highly recommend staying at the motel.

A January night at Mallacoota Hotel Motel

Stayed one night on a coastal journey from Melbourne to Sydney. The name of this establishment the “Mallacoota Hotel Motel” aptly describes the property with a single story row of rooms in a motel-type configuration. A convenience not offered by similar properties was the two entrances to each room: one from the parking lot side, and the other from the pool and courtyard. The hotel had a good restaurant with generous indoor and outdoor seating areas. Our stay was during the Australian Open Tennis Tournament and we enjoyed watching on the big screen in the outdoor dining terrace. The rooms were nicely laid out with a modern sensibility that was simple and functional. The rooms were comfortable with additional blankets and pillows, ample closet and storage areas, and a separate vanity sink from the water closet and shower. The hotel is located on the Main Street of this small town with easy walking access to the bay’s waterfront, and a short 2 minute drive to ocean beaches, and a public golf course that offers views of wild kangaroos. Continental breakfast boxes were provided that were convenient for customers, and offered juice, a fruit cocktail, cold cereal and milk, which could be taken “to go” for eating out at a picnic table or in the room. The pool was large and refreshing on a hot summer day! The menu’s offerings at the restaurant were many and varied to meet a wide range of tastes and preferences.

Mallacoota is a great place to visit and the Mallacoota hotel is in the middle of town. Tired and ageing, but its comfortable, well laid out and, and has all necessary amenities. I have stayed here several times and will again.
