Charming little cottage which worked for 3

A charming little serviced cottage in a gated alley in Maldon. It was imaginatively laid out and very attractive. Some of the facilities were looking a little tired (e.g. sofa bed) and with a few little niggles (leaky shower, hot water not working in the bathroom) but overall very good.

OK for fit active person.

Having travelled from the States we wanted nothing more than to lay down and rest. We did not want to be confronted with a belligerent hotelier who was more interested in getting us to move to another hotel, to avoid a bad review, than he was to placating his guests. There is no mention that there is no parking close to the property, the nearest is a long walk away, which is not good dragging your suitcases and supporting a disabled person. Also not mentioned, apart from Expedia's normal " extra person fees MAY apply" is the fact you will be charged a significant fee just to use a sofa bed. The bathroom light did not work something we had to live with as it was only discovered after staff had left. All in all this is a disappointing property that I would not recommend to anyone other that maybe a fit active couple that want an overnight stay.
