A very family friendly hotel, very close to the beach and lots to do for small kids. This is our second visit. It's about a 30 minute walk to the marina which isn't so bad but there's taxis outside the hotel all the time for about €8
This is a good family hotel for families who want a self catering option. The rooms are compact with a the usual accessories with a payable safe in the room. Hairdryer, iron, coffee machine etc. The cleaners come daily to keep on top of things and we're more then helpful to our needs. I must say the staff here are wonderful as there were a couple of things like the coffee pot needed to be replaced and the balcony door repaired and everything was done asap and without us noticing, nothing is a problem. There is a supermarket onsite with a large supermarket opposite for a bigger shop if needed. The common are are kept clean and toilets are inspected regularly. The pool areas are clean and a bar and restaurant to choose from, drinks and food are a little pricey, but there are a raft of restaurants and bars opposite and along the road if you fancy a walk. If you walk out the front to the right there is almost a secret seafront bar as part of the hotel , which is perfect to watch the sunset or a drink with the waves crash on the rocks, it's a real find! There are good shows of an evening for children and adults and different activities for kids and adults to keep you entertained. Overall this is a good hotel in a great spot and the super helpful staff make it a good option. My only gripe is the towels on sun-beds at 7am by some guests, you see them every morning and then heading off till 3 or 4pm with no beds available for anyone else! I advised one of the pool attendants of this and he advised me to remove the towels after 15 mins, which can lead to confrontations between guests, if they sort this out, there would be nothing not to like. Would I return? Definitely yes!
I LOVE this hotel. I got married here just over 3 years ago and had the most perfect day We have been back after and had yet another great stay. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. It's clean, food is great with different choices to eat on the menu and also the different places to eat at within the hotel. The location is perfect and the staff are brilliant. The shop on site is also really helpful. There's not anything that I could fault. I know this is a special place for me but I honestly have the best time when I m here!!
We booked our 17 night stay via RCI timeshare. We read the reviews beforehand and opted to upgrade to the newer sea view rooms. Boy did that not disappoint. We were given the choice of floor 4 or 14 and if you are lucky, choose a higher floor. I can imagine with the pool and bars the noise being very loud in the evening but floor 14 had the wedding parties and was much less crowded. We bought our groceries at Dia which is next to Burger King across the street. A lot more affordable than the on site store or the other market down the road. It cost us between 22-32 euros from the airport for a taxi. We also took the Ronda trip via the hotel and again that was worth the money. It is cheaper to book through the hotel excursions than online, just an FYI. We did have a timeshare meeting the first day but last five minutes and we're given a free bottle of champagne. All in all, you can't beat this hotel. Upgrade if possible, high rooms if given the choice, and shop across the street. Oh and yes the sun beds are gone by 9am but if you wait until 2-3pm when it's still hot most people have left and you can get in. We spent the mornings at the beach and afternoons back at the hotel. The resturants in sight are more expensive than the boardwalk but convenient if you want it to be.
Just arrived home last night from a 9 night stay with a family group of 10. Check in was quick & easy. We did kind of get the sea view we requested , just the shore line rather than full ocean. But with being on the second floor we were directly beside the bins & service entrance so had delivery trucks coming from as early as 5am. Would not stay on that floor again. We had a one bed apartment which is a little bit small for a family of 4 but there is plenty of storage. Kids slept in the bedroom while myself & husband slept on the sofa bed which was very comfortable. The cleanliness of the hotel is superb. Towels changes daily & rooms cleaned. Can't fault the cleanliness of the hotel at all. Even at the pool staff go around picking of papers & mopping spillages. Hotel has everything you would need. Supermarket, although very expensive. Dentist, kids club, hair & Beauty salon, Gym & a little clothes & jewellery shop. Oasis restaurant is beautiful & was our best meal of the holiday. Pool side bar is quite expensive. The moonlight bar has very good entertainment nightly, but it doesn't start till 10.30 which I do think is quite late. We had a 5 year old with us & he was exhausted by the time it came on. Have to be honest "Bruno mars" tribute was cringe!! Abba are amazing & also beauty & the beast BUT the price of the drinks in the moonlight bar is crazy. And almost the same price as home!!! Wifi is free but the connection can be quite bad sometimes. Staff do take towels off unoccupied sun loungers at 10am & 12 every day which is good. You do need to be down at 8am tho to get a bed! Fantastic daily kids entertainment for any kids in the kids club. My son is very shy so didn't take part but they had a blow up slide at the pool side that he loved. The only real problem we had was yesterday in the luggage & shower room. The heat is unbearable in both rooms. Had a shower & just couldn't get dry. Extremely uncomfortable. The air con should be in the luggage room & shower room Also. Would I stay again????? Yes definitely but not in July as it's so busy & loud. Maybe early June or September. Overall we had a great holiday & would recommend this hotel.
Just a quick review after completing 7 of 10 days here, check in was quick and concise, rooms OK, wasn't happy with ours due to location of the bins but Sergio & Nathalie on reception were excellent to deal with and had us moved the next day, cleanliness of this hotel is probably the best I have experienced, it's not often you don't see some area or another being cleaned, kids entertainment team are superb and the effort and enthusiasm they display on a daily basis is to be commended, kids clubs and activities are good as is the mini disco and movie room (although I agree with others about the lateness of timings). Ate in the oasis restaurant twice and food and service were excellent so no complaints there. Supermarket well stocked with a variety of english/irish/spanish produce. Bad points are the pool bar prices, extortionate for small cans of beer and for a quarter of the price you can get your own from across the road, maybe the hotel could do something about that to encourage the guests to use the pool bar? Sunbeds are at a premium if you have small kids and want to be near the pool to watch them, if you are not on parade before 8am then good luck and it probably should be better regulated as per hotel policy. Lastly games rooms( I understand this is managed by a third party) are in a poor state of repair with outdated and broken machines/pool tables, could do with a little TLC.
We had a junior suite, one of the best rooms I understood with sea view. The view is great with balcony. But the room wasn't very spacious for 2 adults and a teenager. A double bed and a sofa bed (for 2 persons) in 1 room together with a tiny table for 4, is maybe a standard for the average (smaller) Spaniard. But is asked some creativity from the (non giant) 3 of us, together with our suitcases. Furthermore a big and crowded hotel, bad noise reducing door, without threshold, so light and noise enters the room easily. Small supermarket on the 1st floor is nice and good accommodations. And nice restaurant and loungy bars nearby at the sea side.
Just got back from a 7 night stay booked through jet2 . I have to say this is the fisrt time I've been really disappointed with jet2 but this time was defiantly a let down. The hotel is very basic and I would suggest deserves a 3 star rating defiantly not 4 . The pool area was good and the entertainment staff did a good job with the kids but that's as far as a positive for the staff could go. The hotel is tired and our room on the 3rd floor altho clean was very old fashioned and not at all like the photos advertised.. The moonlight bar was more Phoenix nights or any working mens club !! Think sticky pine yellow tables !!!! .. We had a sea view exterior room but unfortunately due to lorries and bins it smelt and was noisey so the balcony count be enjoyed . The breakfast was dreadful cold and just not good enough for the asking price, recommend bar 76 down the road, half the price and great quality food ... summing up if u want a cheap and cheerful sun break this place is ok but I feel we seriously overpaid for what it was . The marina is the best place in benalmedina and the boat trip was exellent . Ps the supermarket and bakery are exellent inside the hotel .
Just came back from a week's holiday where we stayed in a deluxe junior suite. Room was lovely and clean although in future I would probably book a two bed apartment as the suite is open plan. Could not fault the hotel at all. Everywhere very clean and tidy. Lots to do for the kids and adults alike. Hotel was really busy but not too noisy. Just what you would expect from a family hotel. Hope to be back 😁
Hotel completely average in all honesty . Staff not to welcoming on arrival and more so departure . Rooms are as standard in most resorts , hotel can be really noisy in the corridors after midnight Some people just don't give a damn at 1,2and 3am ! Restaurant good value for two courses 15€ , tribute bands are on most nights but very rowdy . Drinks are expensive and poor service . Pool area great , can't be faulted . Hotel must be a favourite with the Irish as it was rammed with Irish families . Wouldn't return back sadly !
