My family stayed at this aparthotel from 5th to 19 Aug 17. We were met by very friendly reception staff. I had emailed in advance and asked for possible early check in as we had 3 yr old and 1 yr old grandchildren with us. Also asked for our apartments to be next door. Both requests were met, thank you so much. The hotel is large but due to hard working staff seems to run very efficiently, the apartments were basic but clean and we had no issues with them. Plenty clean towels and bedding changed every four days. The tv was flat screen and you could use remote control to change to english speaking. There were 3 lifts to access the 9 floors. Breakfast was buffet style and run very efficiently by really friendly staff. You could chose to pay daily if you wished the price was 7.50 euros excellent hot and cold selections, either eat in restaurant or out on terrace. We did not have lunch or evening meal but this cost 12.50 buffet style again. There are lots of restaurants outside front of hotel and along at the marina just 5 mins walk The hotel shop had a good selection and just as cheap if not cheaper than ones close to hotel. Entertainment throughout the day at the kids club, 2 hrs morning and 2 hrs in afternoon looked first class, our grand children were still to young to attend but enjoyed mia the massive pink cuddly bear who came around the pool each morning to greet the little ones. Great entertainment team who should be commended for all their hard work.Nightly show at 10pm which we didnt attend just due to having young children with us. Also tennis courts and football court, plenty green areas to run around in, 2 pools and plenty sun beds which did get reserved with towels. Happy hour 5pm to 6pm buy one drink get one free very popular. Location of hotel first class, locked gate which you use room key to open, onto avenue and beach. To sum up a busy hotel at this time of year, in a first class location with first class staff. The hotel is geared for families and making a great job of this well done.

I stayed in this hotel at the start of Aug 17. Nice hotel and nice rooms with a good sea view. Rooms were very well cleaned every other day and fresh towels brought in. I would recommend this hotel for family's and children! They have a huge kids club and kids games at the pool everyday also shows on at this hotel every night. One night the lion king was on and seemed very good! The happy hour is brill it is from 5-6 everyday. I didn't eat in the hotel although I looked around and the food looked good and a wide selection. Sun beds are available at the pool which is good and you don't have to pay for them.

We booked the sol timor this year purely for the kids as there was kids club and nightly entertainment. We were disappointed from the offset the rooms weren't cheap it was €1500 for a 2 bed for the week the rooms were small and we had problems with ants in the apt 3 of the days we were there now the maintenance man was on the ball sorted it out straight away but I just felt sick waking up and ants everywhere kids screaming. Anyways pool area is a good size kids loved it but again it's lacking in maintenance they need a cleaner at night time to hose it all down. Kids club opened twice a day for an hour or two couldn't actually put the kids in doe as one of them is 7 and the other 4.5 they wouldn't take the youngest as the age is 5-12 so my little girl wouldn't go in on her own. The kids club employees were lovely and so friendly and welcoming and also all the staff in the hotel they were all welcoming. We stayed in la nogalera last year so wanted to stay up this end this time but really was disappointed for the price we paid. Best part of this hotel is the one hour night time entertainment and the games at the pool.

I booked my trip through Alpharooms - can not recommend this hotel enough . As a single Mam travelling on my own I was quite nervous. I emailed the hotel before I arrived with my alpharoom ref requesting not to be out on the ground floor - the staff went above and beyond to ensure my request was made - even sending someone up on the first night to show me how to lock the balcony door. From friendly smiles to lovely service from all the staff I would deft come back here again . My only complaint is DO NOT GET A TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE RESORT. Myself and my youngest son got a cab - on arrival taxi driver said "55 euros" - when I questioned it he said "45" - when I looked for a receipt , he gave me back 5 , then said he had to get back in the car to print receipt and promptly drove off ! Disgraceful. Taxi drivers on strike since yesterday - charging these rip off prices , don't know what they are looking for considering a taxi should have only been 25 tops.

Great location right on the beach/promenade and close to the marina at Benalmedena with lots to do in the area. The hotel/apartments met our expectations and the improvements this year were great. The new outdoor kids area is better and the disused/broken climbing wall gone. The restaurant has had a freshen up and the indoor bar area and entertainment stage more modern and is now much much better in its changes. Good facilities as always. All staff are polite and helpful. Minor problems with our balcony door and a minor leak were sorted v quickly. The children's entertainers are great with the kids and Sebastian, Mario and Raul deserve a special mention as they were great. The lifts for block 2 were very unreliable and 2 of the 3 had problems and were not working at times, these really need replacing now.

Apartments are quite basic but clean, we had a one bedroom with kitchen and was cleaned and towels changed on a regular basis. Staff are friendly and always willing to help. My daughter attended the kids club every morning and if we was about in the afternoon and night time, she absolutely loved it, the staff are great with the kids and keep them occupied as well as well hydrated in the heat. She is still asking to return so she can go to the kids club.

Right on the beach, marina a 5 minute walk to the right and a beautiful walk along the paseo Martimo on the left. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful, the apartments are clean and well maintained. would highly recommend.

Sitting In the lobby waiting for my transfer to the airport, after a lovely week with my parents in the Sol Timor.... There is something for everyone at this hotel, kids club, adult activities around the pool and entertainment each evening .. The view from our 8th floor apartment was just beautiful, with the sea, Marina and plenty of activity happening all on the sea front .. The apartments were your typical self catering apartments, old fashioned but well equipped and very clean... Out the front of the hotel as 6/7 Irish bars and some restaurants.. Out the back alone the beach is the Marina with an array of shops , restaurants and boats.. All in all we had a lovely weeks break here and I'd definitely come back ..

stayed here for 10 nights in July .Fantastic location . I would have to say the cleaning around the poolside was terrible .I sat out one morning and observed the guy that was cleaning around poolside. firstly he never checked the pool water for any debris and there was plenty in it .There were glasses and bottles left around from the night before circus show, they were still there that whole day, cigarette butts all over the place ,never sweeped up !! .basically all I saw him do was watering the grass ! cleanliness and pool cleaning were overall shocking during our entire stay..Cleaning of apartments was excellent ,unfortunately we were stuck in a side one and I wouldn't have said the tiny balcony was even a balcony. the apartment could do with a revamp .

My daughter and I visited the Sol Timor apartments this July/August for a 9 night stay. This was the hottest we have known the temperatures since we have been coming to the area however we were relieved of the intense heat by the excellent air conditioning in our apartment! We couldn't wait to get back from the beach for a break from the heat! This place is very well run but is in need of refurbishing, the reception staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast was perfectly fine and the maid service was good with more than enough clean towels every time. These rooms are well equipped with cutlery, crockery etc so useful if you wanted chill in the room instead of going out. We were bed/breakfast so cannot comment on the other meals available and we don't partake the evening entertainment but as we were returning of an evening we watched for a little while and thought it was very good. The downside was the pool area, it was not very large and the landscape is steep and all the beds seemed jammed together. We go the beach anyway but another guest informed us that there is a queue at 5.45 to put towels on beds, not something we are ever prepared to do. There's lots of grassy areas but not near the pool and the crazy paving areas are very slippy. Located in a nice spot and literally 5 metres from the beach. We used the beds directly opposite the hotel managed by a lovely lad from the Ukraine who would reserve our favourite spot each day without us asking him to. We have stayed in La Carrihuela quite a few times now and this hotel is closer to Benalmadena than we are used to and we found it a little noisier all round although did not cause us any problems, I think we prefer more towards the middle of the sea front closer to the Amaragua and Tropicana Hotel area. All in all we had a really lovely stay and would recommend the place to all.
