Room Mate Larios

Visited Malaga for four days and decided to go with this hotel as the location was right on Calle Larios. Calle Larios is the most scenic pedestrian street in all of Malaga. Has many shops, restaurants, cafes, and ice cream parlours. Room Mate Larios is right next to Plaza de la Constitucion, a five minute walk to the Malaga Cathedral, a ten minute walk to the Alcazar and Roman theatre, a ten minute walk to the marina and beach, and in the hub of dozens of bars and restaurants. The hotel entrance is from Calle Larios. Upon entry there is an elevator and stairwell, no reception. Reception is on the first floor, same floor as the restaurant where breakfast is served daily if you opt for the breakfast package (which we did and more on that later). Reception personnel are very pleasant and eager to assist. We were very early for check-in but they graciously made an effort to get our room ready. They indicated it would be a while and to return in an hour but in the meantime they held our luggage locked for our security. I told them I'll wait longer as long as they give me a view of Calle Larios, they did just that when we returned, room 406 and it was higher than the sun shades on Calle Larios with a view of one of the Cathedral towers. Room was clean, organized, very good WiFi (unlimited devices), and plenty of TV channels although BBC was the only English channel. We didn't care as we were in Malaga and wanted to enjoy the city. Daily breakfast was perfect. Lavazza instant espresso, latte, cappuccino, and hot chocolate machine, tea, juice (including freshly squeezed), yogurt, cakes and pastries, scrambled eggs, potato frittata, bacon, tostada with olive oil and tomato (it's Spain), cold cuts (turkey, ham, jamon), havarti and goat cheese, fresh fruit, assortment of breads, assortment of jams and even Nutella spreads. It had a toaster for the bread which there were also loaves of bread you could cut yourself and then toast. My wife is gluten intolerant and guess what, they had gluten free bread and muffins. On the first day we asked the fellow in charge for gluten free items and he graciously brought them. He was such a good waiter as every morning we greeted each other with a good morning and he would bring the gluten free items to our table without asking. I hate to be critical about this place as it was an all around great experience. I only rated it four stars for one observation, in our view it may need a renovation. It's not that the hotel was dirty or unpleasant, it was more the look of the black marble on the floors and brass rails which seemed out of date that's all. We didn't really mind, but in case one had a thing for newer or fresher looking design, I'm simply providing feedback. Staff, location, comfort, and breakfast is 10 out of 10!

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 10 days . Although the circumstances for my visit were due to a relative in a nearby hospital I have been forced to make the best of my stay . I cannot recommend this hotel any higher other than brilliant. Close to all Malaga's sight 's clean , welcoming and comfortable. I have to say one of the best thing about this hotel is the staff . Nothing is to much trouble and it all stems from a brilliant manager through his brilliant staff including the waiters and cleaners I highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again

Room: average size for standard dobbel room, no view as I didnt pay extra. Clean. I enjoyed having a bathtub. Nice selection of choices in the minibar. Not so easy to dry towels or bikinis. Noise: no noise from the street. But noise from other visitors in the hallway. Door is open a few centimeters under. Breakfast: okay selection of continental breakfast with breads, cereals, sweet bakery, scrambled eggs and bacon, some juices and fruits. I miss more fiber options. Nice place to stay in Malaga a few days. Takes 15-20 min to walk to the beach. Very good area for shopping and peoplewatching.

We were disappointed as there was no lounge area and only 1 chair in our room. Our room overlooked the street and was very quiet. This Hotel is aimed at Business users not holidays , we booked for 10 nights, big mistake !!!!! Not even a bottle of bubbley to thank us for our 10 night stay. Even charged us for 1 bottle of water from our room fridge. Must say our room and bathroom were spotless and our bed was the best ever . We never took breakfast, so many coffee shops around. The high light of our holiday was having dinner most evenings in the shadows of the Cathedral and listening to the baritone singer performing with others.

We stayed here in September last year and were really dissapointed with our room and said we would never stay here again!!! When looking for a hotel in Malaga we kept coming back to this hotel as the location was perfect for us.This time we managed to book a junior suite and what a difference this made The room had great views of the square and Larios street,an enormous bed and a separate seated area. The only criticism is that the shower is over the bath and was a high step in and out.

Situated in a very good central location (Although you need to know where it is - in between two buildings, slim entrance, tall glass double doors - hotel expanding above. Enter glass double doors for access, then first floor for reception via stairs or lift). Staff are friendly and helpful, We had a great view from our room and the room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the hotel roof terrace was great fun, relaxing and staff friendly as well. Wine portion size was generous and well priced and free nibbles (Often topped up!) We also had breakfast which we felt was good value for money and ample choice. WiFi was good service. Safe located in the room. We would recommend.

Staff were very helpful! They went out of their way to answer our questions and respond to any needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Because it is the center of town, things outside can be a bit hectic, though double-paned windows help with the noise.

Excellent Hotel positioned in the main town centre, easy point to reach any part of this marvelous city. Amazing roof terrace to have a drink and to enjoy a superlative view of the city. Great staff, very helpful and gentle, ready to help and to assist customers at any moment. I would recommend this hotel to everybody. ( I had a superlative room over plaza de la constitución)

We loved our stay! Great service the hotel staff is wonderful. The location was perfect I loved how close we were to everything. I highly recommend Room Mate Larios. Our room was always cleaned. Their breakfast is also very good. I loved the rooftop bar we had an amazing evening for an event the hotel had. The views from the rooftop are breathtaking.

I've now stayed here a number of times and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The location is perfect and the rooms are very comfortable. This time there was also an offer on for cheaper breakfast which was very welcome. My only criticism would be that the hotel is over-doing the air freshener spray at the entrance - you walk into the lobby and are hit by a blast of strong perfume. Very unpleasant if you're not a fan of such things.
