Just arrived back from a 2 night stay through Jet2. Having visited Malaga before we wanted a different location. 20 mins walk through pleasant streets to old town then further 15 to marina then maybe 10 to the beach. No issue for us as we wanted to walk everywhere stopping for refreshments as we wished. A fabulous town to visit and hotel in great location for this. We was greeted by pleasant staff member who gave us a map and directions to area and our room was ready even though we was early we was asked our room preference double or twin bed which was nice. Room was clean with good quality furnishings. Only minor detail is only 1 mirror in bathroom. Breakfast was great excellent choices and good coffee machine. No courtesy room but place to leave luggage and large toilet for getting changed into. No complaints with this hotel great bargain and highly recommended.
We booked our week to Malaga fairly last minute but liked the look of this hotel as it reminded us of the Balmes hotels in Barcelona. Not disappointed.Modern, clean lovely staff and good food served in restaurant.Plenty options locally in the Olletas area about 15 mins by bus to the historic centre and marina/ beach..or a nice 40 min stroll which we did regularly past the Plaza de Merced ( Picasso's birthplace ).Great buzzy area ..hotel in a quiet side street ..still city noise but we don't mind that. This feels like a very Spanish area. .many good shops for groceries, bakeries etc and a multitude of pavement cafes all making good coffee.Good bus services .£1 each circular journey. Can drop you at main bus station or train station. We would rebook.Asked for a room with terrace which cost extra but was lovely. Christina on reception especially pleasant.
Outstanding staff! We were welcomed by Eduardo at the reception, who granted us an early check-in (around 10 am), gave us a room with balcony (which I understand was an upgrade), clearly explained all the basics to us (Internet access, city map, etc.), recommended a good place in town to eat (El Pimpi). The lady who took care of the breakfast room (don't know her name) was also excellent, working relentlessly to keep all items supplied, immediately tidying up vacated tables, etc. Everyone from cleaning staff was kind to us as well. The hotel is about 20 mins. walk from the city center. Parking is free in the streets around (if you're lucky to find a place), alternatively there is the option of a rather costly public garage. Room was comfy, good air-conditioning, nice bathroom / shower and the balcony was a very welcome plus. Good breakfast @ 9 euros per person. Considering it's a three star hotel, we found it a bit pricey but still good.
I booked this mini holiday for a long weekend before our main holiday. The hotel was a bit out of the way..If you are able and fit, maybe half hours walk. Nothing around the immediate vicinity except for Dominoes Pizza, and a supermarket. I got in touch with hotel a few days before, to upgrade to a room with a terrace and a late check out, which was told was ok...upgrade 20 Euros and free late check out, which I thought was great. When we got there however, we had the upgrade for a room with terrace, which the desk manager said would be 20 euros, but the late check out was impossible due to hotel being full, which I very much doubt, as out of the 4 terraced rooms, we were the only ones there. Anyway at checkout at 12pm and not late check out at 8pm like they advertised in the lifts.I was told the upgrade was 30 euros, and not 20 euros as led to believe. I like the harbour, sea front and historical buildings in Malaga, but if I come back, I.m afraid it wont be to the Hotel Zenit.
I have no complaints abot this hotel, and it exceeded my expectations. It should have 4 stars in my opinion (probably rooms size is what prevents it from getting thr 4* rank). Our room was good, bed was great, sheets and towels sparking white, everything spotlessly clean and new. Shining bathroom. Great breakfast, fresh juice, ok coffee, the waiters were good and polite. The reception guy (Ricardo?) who checked us in, was welcoming and smiling, and gave us a good room. I hope all Zenit city hotels are the same standard, because now i become a member 😀
Room was clean but small, bathroom again was small but the shower and facilities were very good - note: Shower over bath. Room has a safe which was free to use. The room was quiet (room 312) but overlooked a narrow gap between the hotel and a set of residential flats, not ideal and made it feel claustrophobic. Small double bed with poor mattress, a good nights sleep was a challenge! The hotel staff were helpful, polite and efficient. Don't know about the restaurant as we didn't use it. Basically it is a decent 3 star hotel, don't expect any more and you won't be disappointed.
We stayed here for a couple of nights in February. We booked this hotel because it had parking facilities. When we arrived and booked in we were told tht the car park was flooded and couldn't be used. Thereis very little on street parking around the hotle and any that there is is not free. We eventuallly got a spot in the car park the hotel uses. Word of warning! It is not free. The romm was clean and fresh but a little small. There was very little room to sit and relax. Just one chair in the room. The air conditioning was virtually silent which meant that we could have it on all night. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was also good and there was a good variety of food available.
Good things: decent sized room big bathroom good towels good breakfast very comfy beds manageable walk to city centre great service Not so good the view ,but not important in the scheme of things the walk seemed longer at night!!
A very good hotel with fantastic breakfast and friendly straff. A 15 min walk from city of the old town of Malaga. We stayed in a generous room wirh large bathroom facing a quiet alley. We slept well on the comfortable small kingsize bed 😜. We'll definiteley consider to stay at this hotel again.
This is a lovely hotel which deserves a much higher rating than it's current 3 stars. it is very modern and clean inside. the rooms are also very clean and well furnished. the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. the buffet breakfast was excellent with a lot of choices. the hotel is only a 15 minute walk from the city centre or there is an excellent bus service to and fro the centre. at nighttime the hotel is very quiet. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Malaga.
