We ate at the restaurant for the first night and my parter got food poisoning!!! He didnt eat for 5/6 days straight when we told staff we were told we wouldn't be compensated. Only nice member of staff who cared was Gabriel behind the bar who made my parter a special drink which really helped him. We seen two cockroaches too they were huge!!!
Hotel was very average and in a poor location some distance from beach. Food was always plentiful but lukewarm. Bar service very poor with only 1 member of staff to serve over 100 customers. Other staff friendly but could not recommend.
Never again, Full of drunken men, loud and noisy at the pool, dead as a dodo for entertainment , bingo, ??? Fights with the barmen with English tourists, we opted for all inclusive , we were told when we asked for food at the snack bar , that nothing was included , that we had to pay for everything that was on the menu. ? So we got our money back, we had our meals in the town, which turned out to be cheaper eating out in the lovely village around the corner, it's the worse place I ever stayed in, plenty of other much nicer hotels to stay in around the area, I'm reviewing hotels for years and I have to say this is my first ever bad review, I'm not fussy, but I do not recommend this hotel ,
Stayed at The Flamingo for 3 nights and it was just the job for a short break. Clean room with brand new fitted out bathroom. Breakfast was good with the option to sit outside - plenty of choice. Nice swimming pool and sunbeds are usually available. The 2 blokes on receptioned formed a good, funny double-act - very friendly and helpfuil too. Just 5 minute walk to the main square and train station. A walk along the copast to Benalmadena is a must.
Just back from hotel flamingo stayed from 13th May to 20th May Had a great week at hotel were given room 921 room was spotless Cleaned every day towels changed every 2 days food was good plenty of selection you would have to be very picky if could not get something you did not like also the staff were really friendly through out the hotel special mention to the entertainment team great fun Wee made some great friends from Iceland at the flamingo special mention to Magnus keep the singing up Magnus you made our holiday We would definitely return to this hotel Well done to all the staff keep up the good work Best wishes Terry M
This coming June 6th I shall be travelling to the Roc Flamingo hotel in Torremolinos for my 4th time. The hotel is superb in every way and it is well run. EVERYTHING I found was clean. The food was good and the staff were very good and helpfull . I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the night entertainment is great.
I have just returned from a 5-night stay in the Roc Flamingo and thoroughly enjoyed it. All the staff were very friendly and helpful from our first arrival through to our departure. We had most contact with Dylan who could not have been more helpful, from helping me set up the password for accessing the free Wi-Fi in the reception area, to recommending things to do and places to go around the area. I suspect he will go far in his chosen profession. All staff appeared to be fluent in English and I noticed them using several other languages with ease. My room was for two and was a good size with comfortable beds, a small but pleasant balcony and a nice en-suite with large monsoon shower, toilet and decent basin, all well finished. Plenty of wardrobe space with hangers and the optional use of a safe ticked all our boxes. Free Wi-Fi is not available throughout the building but can be arranged on a paid-for basis. The hotel is very central, only a minute or so up the street from the main square in Torre. A bus shuttle service also runs regularly down to the beach area, and back again, free to residents. A wide variety of restaurants, shops, pubs, nightclubs, etc, are all within easy reach on foot. The only disappointment for us was in the dining room. Our booking was on a bed and breakfast basis so we went down on our first morning to find bedlam! Far too many people milling around far too many tables going from what appeared to be one completely random area to another with no sense of streamlining or order. One area for eggs, another for very mediocre bacon or small frankfurters and beans, all under heatlamps, another area for cereals but fruit, yoghurt, honey, etc, were in yet another part, as was the toast. I could go on but I watched several people coming and going from their table for anything up to 10 minutes before they either gave up or reckoned what they had would do. Why not have a hot buffet and a cold buffet all in an easy line? No doubt it is at its' best first thing in the morning while most people are still in their beds and the food is all fresh but we simply decided to eat out after that one experience. Plenty of choice for that without breaking the bank... All in all, we had a great short break and look forward to our next visit. I would definitely come back to stay again!
Just back from a very enjoyable week in the hotel. Check in was excellent, reception area is bright and welcoming. Staff were friendly, helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Reception staff were very helpful when we were checking out and had severe problems with Jet2 Holidays transfer pickup arrangements. Room was a good size.well presented with good wardrobe and storeage space. Balcony is small, just adequite for two Bathroom on first appearance is good, with a large walk in shower ( cascade/power), however it is let down by the poor finishing around the shower and accessories. Dining--Room has a pleasant appearance, bright and well laid out. However, just too many tables which make it difficult to ger around. Found the food at both breakfast and dinner to be good quality and well presented with plenty of choice. In the evening, there was always 3 or 4 meat and at least 2 fish, hot selections. This after 2 soups and a good choice of salads. The only problem is the hot food in nowhere near hot enough, merely warm and in one instance at the " show cooking station " actually stone cold. Further to that, the plates are also cold, which makes a poor situation even worse. We had a very pleasnt stay in the hotel, found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and would be happy to return, only real complaint was the temperature of the food and the lack of hot plates, which would have help helped the situation
Great to hear the Hotel has been refurbished we have stayed twice before and are looking forward to our third visit later this year. Can not fault the service, location or staff. Each of our visits has been made all the better by the great attitude of all the staff. Jim & Gill
I stayed here in November before they closed for refurbishment. As a real big positive, the staff are all friendly and helpful and they work really hard to give you a good experience in reception, dining room, bars and cleaning your rooms. There was still lots of work going on when I visited, this is to bring the Hotel up to 4*. The rooms now have flat screen tv (only 1 English news channel), mini fridge, new mattresses on the beds and duvets as opposed to blankets but the bed sheets needed to be much more generous to fit around the deeper mattress or by morning you find yourself on the mattress protector, the bathrooms are new but as mentioned by another reviewer, some attention to detail is missing. It wasn't until I got to my room, that I could see any sign of 4* changes because the reception looked exactly the same and the carpets in the corridors need replacing as no amount of hovering will help. There is new furniture in the dining area, albeit a bit of a maze trying to get in/out from your table. There will be a 'live' cooking area in the restaurant from next week. The food was acceptable, although certainly not 'piping hot'. Location is without fault, very close to the Centre and the train station - remember if you have heavy cases that the escalator in the train station is only available when you arrive, when you head back to the airport, there are lots of steps to carry your suitcase to the platform. You can purchase internet for your room but the signal drops out constantly so I couldn't recommend, I couldn't even stream YouTube, just go to reception for the free Wi-Fi. There is a charge for rooms facing the pool and a charge for the room safe (£20 refundable deposit for the key). I'm already booked for June, so I'm hoping to be able report a much more favourable experience. A BIG THANK YOU to all the staff working at the Hotel :)
