Lumeria Maui an Educational Experience

A beautiful oasis in the middle of a heavenly countryside. Calm, serene...I could certainly see myself living forever in a place like that. I wholeheartedly recommend it from any possible point of view.

Beautiful boutique hotel, great location, five minutes from Pa ia. Serene grounds, definitely a relaxing and tranquil Hawaiian experience. Friendly staff and a cool resort cat named Lou. Amazing as a Yoga retreat, but good for a chill weekend as well. Would be five starts except for the lack of AC in the rooms. Windows will need to be open and fans on 24/7 and it can still be stifling hot.

The grounds are beautiful. But for the prices they charge, there is a lot left to be desired. The beds are very uncomfortable. Lumpy. And felt like it was slanted down. Also the bed frame made a ton of noise. Imagine visiting your great grandmother in Ames, Iowa and sleeping in a bed that her grandmother passed down to her. It seemed like if I breathed too hard, the bed would squeak. As for the room, they sold us an "ocean view" room. But what they don't tell you is that while the room does, indeed, face the ocean, the view is obfuscated by huge trees. While the trees themselves are beautiful, it does seem like a classic bait and switch. You can't actually see the ocean. The soaps they use also had a very Motel 6 quality. And while they don't have a tv (which I can appreciate) they fail to accomplish incredibly basic hotel duties, like supply guests with ice for their rooms. I had to walk all the way over to the "restaurant/bar" where a kind gentleman gave me a plastic cup filled with ice. Sweet. As for the "restaurant/bar", they tell you breakfast is included. But it's presented in the most sad way possible. While the grounds are very nice, and even the rooms have a good vibe (despite the beds being uncomfortable), the breakfast area is decidedly summer camp lodge vibe. The eggs were regularly served cold, as the chaffing dish was never on. The yogurt was never on ice, and as a consequence, it was served room temperature. I realize the hotel is centered around "wellness." And while they offer a few yoga classes with your stay, they're also charging room rates on par with highend beachfront resorts. Resorts who also offer similar services for no additional charge. Basically, they're charging high prices for what is ultimately a low end hippie retreat experience with a beautiful yard. And a ton of "healing" crystals. And Buddhas. I'm not Buddhist, but I do have a lot of respect for the faith. And as a final note, I'd just say that I think it's particularly tacky and gross to use people's god for commercial purposes. Just as a hotel littered with statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ on the Cross, it's off-putting to have Buddhas everywhere. Maybe it's just me. But this screams cultural appropriation. And ultimately it's a way to mask what this hotel really is...a money making venture run by granola grifters trying to over charge liberal-minded yogis for "serenity." I fell for should not. One positive...the staff was very kind

Our stay at Lumeria was lovely. The room was very clean, the property is pristine, and the free breakfast was such a treat! It was great to have organic and gluten free options, as well. We weren't able to enjoy spa treatments or yoga classes, so we will have to return for those! We had a late flight, and they offered us a late checkout with the option to shower in the spa. This was so lovely! Our bed was very creaky, which made it hard to sleep. The website says that there isn't AC because it isn't needed, but we were very hot at night, making it hard to sleep as well. Besides those two minor things, it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely return!

A perfect oasis from the hectic world we live in. Beauty, good health and tranquillity coexist to offer an alternative to the overly commercialized luxury resorts on the coastline. You need a car, which will take you anywhere you want on the island in no time.

Everything from the delicious organic food, to the hammock that swings with the wind, the meditation and yoga classes, staying at Lumeria is a spiritual experience that will refill your soul. Peace and tranquility in God's green earth await.

Ideally suited for couples I think. Or yoga enthusiasts! It is an impeccable retreat where everyone is incredibly respectful of each other and their privacy. The gardens and grounds are stunning, and the food is great too.

solitude amidst the touristy chaos of Maui. Do not bring children here as it will ruin everyone else's experience. I recommend renting a car as it is far from things to do and restaurants. I do not like how lunch isn't served and that for dinner that you have to make a reservation. This is vacation time and you shouldn't have to pre-book a set time when you are trying to check out from it all.

Loved the all-inclusive class schedule above and beyond what was included in our yoga retreat. Lush, tranquil property. Douglas was great during the 5 Rhythms class. Tasty eats. The rooms were comfortable and clean

We came here for a yoga retreat as a group of 13 people. Disorganized staffs, my credit get charged as it is not supposed to. Food quality is good but portion is small. Extremely unfriendly staffs. Bad management.
