The property is beautiful, understand there are no extras for your money. This is not a place to stay if your interested in a great food experience because there are no choices on the menu its one set meal. The property has. o transportation for guest to and from the airport and for the price for a room you would a least expect a shuttle.

Beautiful property, gorgeous historic house. Loved to be surrounded by untouched nature. Loved the sound of the wind in the big trees. Very nice yoga teachers, relaxing vibe, relaxing classes. Overall service could improve, phone in room not working. Complimentary teas and coffee could find a better spot ( somewhere in the restaurant...) Management staff could be more pleasant. Housekeeping service was really bad, didn’t clean our room .

An amazing get away. Quite. Grounds were beautiful. Very peaceful. I didn't get to enjoy the yoga offered as much as I would have liked to. I do wish there was drinking water offered in the room. Other then that it was amazing.

the grounds, the programs, the staff...all excellent. i felt like i was leaving family when i went home :) the food is also really good and the location allows you to visit a lot of cool beaches and shops and hiking places

Nice rooms, nice and tidy property, location a bit hidden behind trees/hedges which helps to calm down and get away from everyday hustle and bustle, extensive and balanced weekly program (yoga classes, meditation, etc.), tasty food, daily changing dinner menu with 3 courses (healthy, local ingredients, often fish), breakfast buffet was good but unfortunately the same every day, lots of space to relax (e.g. pool, hammocks), but there is a lack of shadow places (no trees or umbrellas at the pool or the lawn), for the rather high room rates the service level could be a bit better

Went with my fiance on a health retreat and stayed at Lumeria. We were both very excited because it was our first time together in Maui. We checked out the resort's site and were in awe of the place. Thing to note from the OGG airport to Lumeria it is about a 19min drive. We were told Lumeria is located in the Upside of town in the more chill and quiet area. If you are looking for peace, quiet, doing nothing and just hanging out at the resort then there is not need for you to rent a car. Our check-In at Lumeria was not the most welcoming. We were greeted by a receptionist only after she had finished her conversation with an employee and not a guest. We arrived early at 10:15am and check-in time was not until 3pm which was fine because we could store our things there and gave us time to explore a bit. She said she would give me a call when our room was ready. Got back at 2:45pm and still no call and when we checked with her the room was still not ready and her reply back to us was they run on "island time and it's very chill". I was definitely not used to the pace of things. I believe if you are trying to run a business and would like to stay in business you want to make sure all your guests are well attended. We saw others have checked into their rooms and yet ours was not ready; we finally ended up checking in at 3:30pm. The rooms smelled moldy, the sheets did not smell super fresh and the shutter bathroom sliding doors and shades were super dusty. On our 3rd day there when we requested for fresh towels in the morning it took them the next day for me to ask someone again to deliver fresh towels to our room. Clearly if you are refreshing a room you would also check if guests are running low in toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner but not this place. Nothing was replenished, we had to go to reception and let her know we were literally our of toilet paper and only on the 4th day did they restock us with 3 rolls. But they did not restock us on shampoo or conditioner. Luckily I brought my own travel sizes from home and that held us both over throughout the rest of our stay. I even brought my own body wash too because they didn’t replenish the mini soap bars either. The waitress at the restaurant seemed to be bothered, annoyed and kind of gave us the feeling she really didn't feel like working. The photo in the sites gallery of the pool is not open, it is blocked by a wall and more like closed quarters.

c landscaped grounds while meeting strategically placed crystals and Buddha’s, immediately breathed peace and tranquillity into my soul. The rooms are comforting, beautiful and quiet which paved way for a great nights sleep; there was also the loved wake-up call from the community rooster. If you are lucky you will be visited by Lucy and Lou: the resident cats. The delicious complimentary breakfast was a wonderful start to the day. Surrounding places you should check out are: Baldwin beach, the town of Makawao, Paia fish market, and the flat bread pizza place. I would book here again.

We came to Maui to remarry. We wanted to be away from everyone, and enjoy each other’s company. Lumeria was exactly what we needed! Peace and quiet, off the beaten path, yet close enough to everything!

For a pricey hotel, where full payment is demanded in advance, I expected a lot more in terms of accommodations and service. This is not to say the rooms are terrible, but overall the experience was "meh," enough that I would not recommend Lumeria to anyone travelling to Maui. On an island teeming with hotels and rental options, one would think a hotel which requires full payment before you've even set foot on Maui would go above-and-beyond to please their customers. This just wasn't the case. The bedside lamps in our room didn't work, dust could be found on multiple surfaces, and roosters will wake you right outside your door in the very early morning. The grounds are beautiful and the restaurant has delicious food. However the service of the staff ranges widely from polite to indifference. As I already stated, there are just too many other wonderful options for travelers on Maui. Skip Lumeria.

Great staff, awesome outdoor set up, beautiful view of trees and plants. The location is great for retreating, enjoying what is around you, practicing yoga and meditation and enjoying DELICIOUS meals. It is far from the sunny side of the island, but the rain looks beautiful on Lumeria. ;)
