This is our favorite place in the region, and there are great restaurants everywhere! Even my sister-in-law, who has lived here for over a decade, loves this place still. It had changed owners, and came back to prominence. We've had some formal meals here, but it's great for Sunday lunch.
There are some places like this hotel that allow you to feel at home immediately and any information about the surrounding area is at their fingertips.. such warmth and caring for your stay is central to all the management and staff...
We stayed here for four nights while visiting friends for a special occasion, and couldn't have been looked after better. We arrived late after suffering a break down in our hire car and the hotelier, the hostess and staff went out of their way to make sure we got to the hotel safely, had a drink and full dinner, even though I think we arrived after the kitchen should have closed. The hotel itself is delightful and well located. The food and drink is excellent and the swimming pool is a lovely spot too. Apart from the high quality of the amenities, food and location, the outstanding aspect of La Ferme de Flaran is the service. The tone is clearly set by the hotelier and his wife and all the staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. It was such a pleasure to stay there and we thoroughly recommend it to all travellers in the region!
Calm and peace, space and light - some sympathetic restoration on this building leant itself to a relaxing stay, whilst our local business meetings were less so! Good food and service. Would definitely return. Nice swimming pool too!
Lovely restaurant and good menu choices. Snails were delicious as was the guinea fowl and lamb. Great local wine list and very good value. Excellent service. Rooms smallish but very clean. Nice showers and sheets. The Abbaye Flaran has a truly amazing art collection with sculptures by Rodin and Dali and paintings by Monet, Gainsborough, Constable and more.
It was a very sunny day so we were able to sit out on the terrace under the umbrellas. We were warmly welcomed but then there was a long delay whilst things at the back of house were resolved; them everything was back to normal. We had a very enjoyable menu with a good bottle of local wine to accompany it. The atmosphere was very warm and amiable and due to the earlier delay we were rewarded with two glasses of very enjoyable Armagnac to round off a lovely lunch. We have been a few times and will definitely be back. It is very close to the Abbeye de Flaran, which is definitely worth a visit
This was the fourth time that we had stayed here and enjoyed it even more on this occasion.Pretty as a picture as we arrived in glorious sunshine to be greeted by our host and hostess; this couple must be one of the most energetic and welcoming in the South of France - nothing is too much trouble! Great fun, great value, not to mention the superb Armagnac on show and readily available!
Just a perfect stay!! Owner are so kind, very welcoming and flexible! My stays were perfect, great room, god wine and good diner with local quality products ... I come here every time when I have to stop nearby, thanks guys. What else?!
I have stayed a few times while working at a local factory and chose to return with my family for a very nice week in the sun. And then a further visit this year. Friendly hosts, nice relaxed atmosphere and good food.
The couple who run this hotel are absolutely marvelous, hard working but sociable, good humoured and really the ideal hosts. The gentleman is very affable and effusive, which means that if your room is near the top of the stairs you will hear him a lot during the daytime as the reception desk is unfortunately at the bottom of the stairs. At night time the hotel is a different place, totally quiet until the first guests get up and slam their door. So if you're spending most of your time outside, which probably applies to over 90% of customers, then you won't notice the occasional noise. The rooms are clean, the bathroom practical and spotless, the bed comfortable. The swimming pool is most welcome in the heat, but could do with some more sunshades. The regional menu is good and good value. When I ate à la carte I was disappointed as the beef had been cooked too soon after removal from the fridge, so that it was properly seared on the outside but cold inside. Overall though, this is a very clean and well managed hotel and the great efforts of the owners ensure that you feel at all times welcome and in good hands...and that is worth a lot!
