The faucet in the bathtub was broke the sink handle was broke. The floor needs repaired. you could feel the floor underneath needing repaies made, the pillows need changed. Other than that it was ok. Good price very nice owner.
This place is very clean! Highly recommend staying here! Breakfast was delicious! I stayed for two weeks, and the service was fantastic. The staff is very nice, they made me feel at home. They had a flat screen tv, nice mini fridge, & delicious breakfast.
The staff and front desk are nice and always ready to help out, due to the hiring of new employees (which I only know because when I was checking in the front desk lady told me it was her first week on the job). The bed was comfortable after a long day of driving, and I was sound asleep in no time, and having a free breakfast for the price I paid was good. The rooms were clean and the stay was nice. Would recommend this place because of the recent change of staff, and would recommend people no to heed to previous review because I was going to do that, and am glad I did not because they are no longer accurate.
The lady that checked us in was not the friendliest. We went to our room after a long day of driving to find that the lock on the door did not work. We called and a man that could not understand English came to look at it. He said he couldn't fix it and we would have to move. The lady at the front said we would have to wait to move because someone else wanted to look at it. That lady came and finally said we could move. The next room's lock was broke as well. Finally, we got moved to the 3rd room and stayed. The rooms are nice. Other than the locks not working and having to wait to be moved it was a good place to stay.
What the web sire offers and what you receive... are two different things. The room rate promised is lower than the rate charged. The amenities... like a clock and radio... do not exist. The breakfast (if you can call it that) was awful. The desk clerk filled the 1 coffee (regular) container... from the DE CALF brew bottle. He re filled the (prepared) eggs from a tuperware container... with his bare hands... after adjusting his ill fitting pants. There is no salt... no pepper... or any other condiment... needed to mask the "flavor" of the industrial grade eggs. They had only 1 choice for milk. The only coffee creamer... was powdered. The bathroom is a shining example of... NO VISIBLE maintanance being done. The water flow has been reduced to the point... it took over 3 minutes for warm water to come out of the sink. I guess that was good... because it took 4 minutes for the sink to drain. The toilet seat needs to be tightened up. You could slip off... is you adjust your seated position to the left or the right. The light fixture does hold 2 lamps... but there is only 1 there... so it is a bit dark in there... This is probably the WORST property in the Choice Hotel chain. The wifi service is also very POOR!!!!!!!!!
Stayed for a week for work. Clean room and good service. Flat screens and a mini fridge...it's what makes you feel at home. Close to restaurants and a gas station next door. Just wish there was better food in magee
The room rate was good which is why we chose to stay here for two nights on our initial stay in Magee. The public spaces of the hotel are really clean with new carpet, but although the new carpet continues into the rooms, the rest of the room is not up to par. The first thing I noticed was the urine smell in the bathroom. There were also broken, loose tiles in the bathroom and a towel rack half falling off the wall. The entire room needed a paint job and new curtains and bedding too. The bed was horrible; the floor would have been just as comfortable. The room is CLEAN and passed my barefoot test, but the urine smell was pretty bad. The staff here is super nice and wants to help. Unfortunately, they just seem to be short on resources. They came to get my dirty towels mid-morning one day without leaving me any clean towels. It was almost 3 p.m. before they returned with clean linens. The front desk was very interested to know the issues I found wrong with the room when I checked out, and the clerk wrote the items down and assured me he would have maintenance check on those things. Most of the staff here speaks little to no English, which makes communication challenging. The desk clerk at my check-out was an exception who spoke English well. The so-called continental breakfast is basically non-existent and possibly the worst I have ever seen without yogurt or fruit. Although the staff here is friendly and hard-working, their resources seem to be so limited they are struggling to keep up. I chose to use another hotel when I returned 2 days later to Magee. Sorry. --- WIFI was good!
We had to come into town for a funeral from a long drive. We found the hotel to be clean and everything we needed was in order. Don't expect anything fancy these are just country hotels with country folks running them and they make you feel at home.
So, I recently finished a cross country trek, Seattle to Tampa. I stayed in pleasant hotels with accommodating staff along the way, until I got to Magee, Mississippi and decided to stay at the Quality Inn. I had driven 15 hours that day and arrived at the hotel after 4am to check in. Obviously not an ideal situation but you do what you have to do. The night clerk was short, and mostly unpleasant. I was exhausted. And asked if the checkout time of 11 still applied since I wouldn't be getting into bed until 5 at that point. He said "yes." And that was all. I asked "is there any kind of late check out or something I could do since I just got here." His reply was that I would need to speak to the manager when he arrived at 7 if I wanted to discuss that. And after being unable to hide my shock, he said "Well I can push your checkout to 12 but that's it." And even in saying that he seemed like I was inconveniencing him to even be asking. Now, every hotel has its policies. I understand. But after staying in hotels (operated by the same overall brand) where the staff were far more accommodating, even to the point of getting a free night, the experience in Magee left a lot to be desired. I can't imagine I'll be driving through there again, but if I do, I won't be stopping here. Oh yeah, the entire top front plate of the air conditioning unit in my room was ripped off and the knobs were broken. But at least I got a few hours of sleep.
Good nights rest! Room was clean, quiet hotel. Security cameras in parking lot. Night check in feller was very nice. Morning check out feller- not so much. Room was non smoking and was ok. Hallway stinks of stale smoke- maybe coming from smoking rooms. Would stay there again
