McDonald's located near hotel entrance lots of trash, graffiti and kids making noise including broken glass bottles reported to the front desk at 3 am. They said nothing we can do since other businesses are located nearby. Nice hotel but poor service, also had to get new key cards every day since they magically stop working daily. Elevators are very small, air conditioning does not work properly inside hotel hallway, elevator or lobby, it's 95 degrees outside.. This place sucks.
Our first contact with the hotel was not so welcoming. It was quite busy and the two young ladies at the reception had a hard time to cope with the customers. An older man, presumably a supervisor stood behind their back and looked over their shoulder all the time we waited without bothering to help. It is not unusual to see little bosses who would not condescend to help the staff but it sends a negative message to clients that you'd rather have them waiting than to get your hands on the job. Fortunately, the ladies were friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable but there is a problem with the isolation system: it works well against the outside, we could hardly hear the traffic in the busy paseo (and it was the night Madrid won a football game so the supporters were very loud) but it is completely useless against the inside noises. We could hear very distinctly the televisions and conversations of our neighbours including this couple who decided to enjoy very loudly their intimate life in the middle of the night. After we could finally get some sleep, we could have a good breakfast in a busy but well organised restaurant where the friendly staff made sure everything goes smoothly.
Excellent boutique hotel on the outskirts of Madrid, but so will connected to the whole city by the metro which is next to the hotel. The rooms are good and spacious, good toilets and a nice breakfast spread. Internet is free and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had a bad incident at the time of check out, my friend just kept his backpack on the floor at the reception desk and it just disappeared within a minute, with his passport and a lot of currency, I don't really blame the hotel but they must be careful about who is entering and exiting their lobby. Cameras are in place but so far we have not heard from them.
This modern and efficient hotel was the perfect choice for a recent 3 night business trip and as our European HQ is only 15 min walk away I can see this will become a regular booking. Very friendly and helpful staff, a clean well fitted out and spacious Junior Suite room, with a separate 'meeting area' with sofa, plus very comfortable bed. The highlight was the considerable variety of continental breakfast options available - always very fresh, well stocked and something for all tastes. The fitness room was the only let-down, no air-con when I was there which may have been fixed by now(?) and VERY limited equipment and light weights.
Even though it is up in the, access is easy and lots of good restaurants in the area. The room was ok, clean, bed to short for me, but only as I am 1.94m. Still it was comfortable and fairly quiet. Breakfast was ok but the hot food was cold egg and sausage. Selection is ok and enough. Unfortunately the real issue was communication via email as it was totally ignored as they had issue with the CC details for the booking guarantee. There is lots of improvement. Staff was still friendly and hotel is ok. Nothing special based on interior. Would I stay here again? Likely as in total it was good.
The hotel is located right next to the Playa de Castilla metro, which serves 3 separate lines in and around Madrid, and also ideally located opposite the bus station and a 15 minute walk to Chamartin rail station. The rooms have a modern feel with wood flooring, whilst the breakfast buffet was fantastic with a choice of Spanish omelette, scrambled egg, fruit, muffins, cereal and much more. Approachable and friendly staff to make your stay even more enjoyable.
This place looked a bit 'tired'. I had a double room which was extremely spacy and it was clean. But there is a period in the life of a hotel between 'being in its prime' and 'ready for a refurbishing', and this hotel seemed to be right there. The hotel staff was maybe a bit disengaged. The breakfast was ok, not really special. The room was facing the slanted bank buildings that are the modern gate to Madrid, and right above a favourite meeting place outside of the local McDonalds. Local custom seems to be to chat, laugh and yell there until 6 am, so that side of the hotel is to be avoided.
Stayed here in Madrid for four nights as a surprise birthday present from my boyfriend and it's very fair to say, he's chosen well! The hotel is immaculate from the minute you walk in and smells gorgeous! You can actually buy the scent for your own home too which is very tempting I must say! The staff are lovely and welcoming, most importantly bilingual as (unfortunately) I don't speak a word of Spanish. Our room was very spacious, with 95% of it being modern. My only two drawbacks were the hairdryer in the bathroom, it looked like something you'd have back in the 1980's! Also there is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. We chose what we thought to be a double bed in our room, it was more like a super king size! Unexpected so it was very luxurious as well as extremely comfortable. There is also a bath as well as a shower in the bathroom, I do love a good bath still when I'm away so I liked this factor. The shower is very powerful also! For a couple of mornings we also had the buffet breakfast which is provided until 11am every day, all you can eat. There's a lot of variety, eg fruit, cereals, cooked meats, breads, pastries but personally I don't think it was worth the 12 euros PER person, if it's not included in your room rate!! There's only so much croissants you can have... Lastly, on a personal note it was extremely dangerous to my waistline that there's a McDonald's literally next door to the hotel. As a fussy eater, it's a great thing to fall back on if you don't like the local cuisine. I'd happy return here, as a Real Madrid fan it's ideally located close to the Santiago Bernabeu too! :)
Stayed in a twin room with my brother for a long weekend in Madrid and it was great. It's not in the city centre (Sol, plaza Mayor, etc.) but it's still a good location as it is right beside a metro station with a direct line to the city centre in less than 10 mins and it's also walking distance (15 mins) to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, which was perfect for us. The room was comfortable and clean and considering the price we paid we were extremely happy. The reception staff also accepted to mind our luggage after check out so that we didn't have to walk around town with it on our last day. We didn't try breakfast and you get the feeling that it's a business hotel which totally makes sense with its location, but that was fine for us.
It's very nice 4 stars hotel with clean rooms and clean bathroom. The breakfast are good. Plaza de Castilla Metro station only 100 m from hotel. reception stuff are helpful, they fast at check-in and check out.
