We booked through Booking.com following an email stating prices were at a low. Four days before we travelled the same hotel, same dates and same Bed & Breakfast terms was advertised by Booking.com at €95 cheaper. This has put us off booking with this company again. As for the hotel: its in a great location for all the attractions. It was clean and the breakfast staff and food offered was the best part of this place for us. The 1st room we were given was totally unacceptable. The first door had TWO rooms listed. We swiped the key card to then be faced with two doors. We swiped our door to find a very dark and dingy room very little natural light and even with the lights on it was as if you were in the room at night. Yet this was about 1400hrs. The second room we were given was modern and clean. We know that space is a premium in the big cities but this was the smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in. The shower was a fully walk in but if you are on the large size, that's height and girth I think you would have a little problem. There was NO VIEW from either of the rooms offered. When you walked out of the front door you walked onto a dirty street with a building site opposite. Then you were faced with about 25 to 30 "Homeless" or "Refugees" and their sleeping bags etc. Would we return to this hotel. NEVER.
Had a recent stag trip out in madrid, and stayed in the Cortezo, plus points-excellent location, plenty of bars and restaurants close by,hotel was clean, beds were comfy, fresh towels each day,on the negative there was no iron or kettle in room, but I would return
This was easy to get to from Atocha station Just 2 Metro stops to Tirso de Molina station. Then a short walk up to hotel. Nice room. I wouldn't say staff were friendly but they are professionally polite and helpful. Very well located with just a short and lovely walk to the tourist centre of Madrid. I would definitely stay here again.
Very central position, 24 hour reception, clean, cozy, big room. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, not a great view from our window but the solarium on the roof is great, especially at night. Didn't try the breakfast buffet, but close to the hotel there are many good cafes and bars. Very safe. Recommended for anyone.
Stayed with my mother and grandmother in August. The hotel was conveniently located near many attractions (once you find your way). The roof top terrace was a delight and always empty! , and our bedroom although basic was located in a nice quiet part of the hotel on the 1st floor and you could not fault the aircon. Breakfast was 5*- pastries were yum, as were the selection of hams. The hotel from the airport is charged at €30 for a taxi. Please be aware of local pickpockets as we unfortunately were victims of this. Would I stay here again? Absolutely- it is a great hotel for a few days city break. Thanks!
What a lovely hotel in a superb location! Close to everything you could want to visit. We got upgraded to a suite as it was our anniversary which was a lovely touch! Room was spacious, clean and the bed was so comfy! Bathroom was huge and was spotless. Wouldn't hesitate to return!
Threat hotel which is located a one minute walk from plaza Santa Ana and two mins from Sol and Plaza Mayor. Great for people visiting the first time as ideal central location. Parking at the hotel but didn't need it. Rooms were spacious and very clean however there is building floor going on on the 2nd floor and we were woken early on Monday and Tuesday morning to the sound of banging and drilling - not ideal when you're on holiday! As I speak Spanish I went upstairs and asked the builders to stop for 1/2 hour- which luckily they did. Reception did not inform us of the building work going on and this was very frustrating. Our room had an outside window but our friends' room was an internal window and was extremely dark- particularly as the bathroom was also internal. It constantly like 9pm at night for them, despite putting the lights on. Reception staff were pleasant and the breakfast offered was okay for €7but I always think eating out of the hotel is a nicer experience particularly as this area was also internal with no windows. Good chauffeur service to the hotel for €30 which you can book the night before and worth it for the quick door to door service - plus it's a similar price as a street taxi anyway.
Hotel is basic but nice. The hotel has no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and the rooms are quite small but the beds are really comfy. What the hotel lacked its location and lovely friendly made up for.. if going back to madrid I would stay here again
Myself, husband and children aged 8, 14 and 18 spent 4 days in hotel. We had two rooms. We are already planning our next trip back to this hotel. We arrived on 21 Aug 2017 on a very hot day and found clean and well air conditioned rooms. Husband easily navigated the Metro to get us very near to hotel. It's a great location to walk to local sites of interest. Lovely breakfast at Cortezo that met family requirements. We loved the roof terrace and the lovely view of Madrid. Within a short distance was Lidl, Burger King, KFC, McDonalds and Subway as well as lots of Spanish and other countries food. Staff at hotel were all friendly and helpful. We booked a taxi at 2am to airport for return, and this was a great service. We were all very happy with our stay, the rooms were cleaned very well. We were on the first floor.
We have just returned from a 10 night stay here. Hotel is very centrally located. We had a quad room which was adequate in size, with a large bathroom which had a separate bath and shower. Bed was very comfortable. Since we were on the 5th floor, AC did not always cool room sufficiently. on very hot hot days. Breakfast buffet was vast but lacked seasonal fresh fruit and salad. However there was a very good choice of cheeses and jamon, fresh bread, eggs and bacon and very tasty cakes and croissants. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.
