Located in the very center of the city at the edge of the Puerta del Sol, almost all the main attractions of Madrid are in walk distances. At night could be noisy. You could easily reach the Grand Via or the Retiro Park and the main museums. There are all kind of restaurants in the neighbourhood. The rooms are small, the towels are not really clean but the hostal is a good option for a few nights stand.

Location is absolutely perfect in the center of Madrid. Good WiFi. Air Conditioning. Can be noisy especially by night. Old furniture. Basic amenities. Towels were changed after 2-3 days. You get 3 keys, one for the Building entrance door, one for the entrance in the Guesthouse and one for the room.

It is a fine place if you opt to stay at the Hostal only to sleep and wash. Location is the highlight of this place since is it very close to most of the main attractions. The place is very old and tends to be noisy especially on a Saturday night. However, the room was nicely heated and the staff tries its best to keep the place tidy. Considering the bargain price it is worth staying. The small bath inside the room is a bit awkward.

We were in this hostel for 5 nights, three of us. First of all, they were doing some major electricity maintenance and every day either the lights or A/C was off. As none of the staff speak English, it certainly wasn't easy dealing with problematic situations. Wi-fi worked at times. They only give you one set of keys which makes it hard to part ways, as you can't even buzz yourself in - you need one of the THREE keys for the main door. Beds uncomfortable and barely stayed together. Towels as old as my grandmother. Isolation non-existing, glad we had ear plugs. Very cheap hotel but for the first time, even if I really don't expect much from a bargain hotel, this was probably the worst ever. And we only needed place to sleep, get changed and have showers. Even that seemed like a lot of effort. So shame, as the location is absolutely perfect.

I read reviews regarding this place as clean, a good bargain. Unfortunately, I didn't know the signs of bed bugs and I closed the drapes and took a nap. A few hours later, I had a full-blown infestation of bed bugs. I moved hostels immediately, but brought them with me in my luggage. I have spent days trying to get rid of them but they are incredibly resistant. For the price, it was not worth any bit of the hassle or frustration.

This was one of the best hotel during my trip in Europe. The price is a real bargain, you get a clean room, enough space for 2 persons. you got a balcony, very close to Puerta Del Sol, you can easily find a place to eat here. one thing that you need to put attention is that the staffs speak no English. I would stay here again if I visit Madrid.
