This was a menagerie of issues. We were there with a group and they were very unprepared for our arrival. Odd setup - two elevators to get to room. Shower was gross - wouldn't drain so had to take shower in standing water. Dangerous - seriously electrics issue 220V hairdryer with exposed wires next to the sink. To top it off - the prior guests underwear was hanging in the bathroom - disgusting! We told the front desk and they encouraged us to put our opinion on TripAdvisor. So here it is!!

I recently stayed in the Hotel. It was the end of July, the AC was just fine (not too cold or impossible to turn off). The room was quiet and that is something very important in noisy Madrid. I stayed with my two kids. The bed was super comfy, one of the best I have ever slept in. What makes it excellent is the location, near coffee shops and convenient for shopping. The people at the reception were very polite and helpful. I will repeat at the end of the month. I hope not to be disappointed.....

Catalonia Goya rooms much larger than expected and a wonderful surprise as street entrance is unremarkable. Good location near shopping and restaurants. Taxis are inexpensive in Madrid and this is close to some very popular destinations such as the Prada Museum. Don't be fooled by its outward appearance. This hotel is a gem and a great value for the price.

Wonderful service, good breakfast and cleaning, very good personal I would like to return in the Madrid again , in the Hotel Catalonia Beautiful city, beautiful hotel, beautiful country Real Madrid - champion !!!

This was my second stay in this hotel. I felt extremely comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They were all lovely, but particularly Alicia. The breakfast buffet was often very busy as big groups of people needed to eat at the same time, but the staff generally kept on top of things and you could always find something nice to eat.

This was our second time in Catalonia Goya Hotel, have to admitted we were a little bit afraid to book there again, just because the first time, in 2008, was really unpleasant to stayed there, but even though, we booked with them, we have to admitted that was for a very good location the hotel has, and, what a surprise!, from the moment we stepped into the hotel, we notice the change, of course, for better, all the staff was very, very helpful, and attentive to all our needs, very good cleanliness overall the hotel, their variety in breakfast buffet selection items, everything there invited you to stay. We have to say THANK YOU, to all the staff, at Catalonia Goya Hotel, you made our stay UNFORGETTABLE, and of course, from now and on, we highly recommend you, to our family and friends, and to anybody to read this review.

Hotel was good, spacious and clean. Breakfast was nice too.. The room is a little less bright. Lots of restaurants and shopping just down the hotel. Overall a good experience. If I don't get reservation in Vinci soma hotel then Catalonia Goya is my second option

Very nice hotel within walking distance of all the main sights. Friendly staff and very large and clean rooms equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast could be a bit of a scrum and for business clients who need to get up and away quickly in the morning this could be an issue. Would suggest starting breakfast at 6.30 on weekdays rather than 7.00.

Excellent location, very good service. Room was looking in the inside of the building, but everything else was very good. Personnel was very kind. Everything is near, walking distance. Metro is perfect, station Velazquez is practically at the hotel entrance.

Excellent services, very good location. Walking distance to many interest places like Plaza Colon, Puerta Acala, Parque Decibels, Gran Via and Plaza Mayor. People at front desk and at the bar are very friendly. Good breakfast!!!! Rooms are clean.
