My room & the hotel were beautiful with a great location ion Calle Goya, but I as disappointed with my room . my television remote did not work. the front desk said it probably needed a battery & said someone would come to look at it. They never did. Thankfully I had my ipad still could watch things on you tube. Also the shower handle would not stay on it’s base. I had to shower against the wall & flooded the bathroom. Maintenance looked at it when I complaind as I was leaving

Overall a fine experience. Location good for business as on the metro line. Not that far from the old centre although the restaurants nearby tend to be a bit pricey. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was good and the room was fine and very clean.

Thermal heating of the sun had heated room. Despite "servicing" by maintenance unable to cool the room either because air conditioning season had been "ended" or inefficiency of the HVAC system. Regardless had to sleep. Otherwise an excellent hotel.

Catalonia is situated in a posher area of Madrid, away from Gran Via, yet close to the Prado Museum and National Library. Very typical restaurants are found withing walking distance in addition to the Metro in front of Hotel. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a Hotel for Business purposes or just want to be away from all the loud sounds of Gran Via.

Stayed here for 7 nights in Oct-Nov. Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Lots of cafes around for breakfast (decided not to have breakfast within hotel), Retiro Park reachable in 10 min walking.

I only stayed one night and although the staff were generally helpful and friendly, I was disappointed in the lack of an airport shuttle and the lack of services provided on the night I happened to be staying.

Stayed two nights at the Catalonia Goya and were quite happy with our accommodations. Room was adequate for three persons, not overly large, but comfortable. Nice bathroom. Hotel is very conveniently located in Salamanca, a posh area with high end shops, etc. Good breakfast. Not cheap, but what is in Madrid. Overall, a good stay, worth the price.

Overall very friendly helpful and professional staff a perfect base for our football match to watch Real Madrid Vs Tottenham. Rooms were clean and functional although TV had just the one english speaking channel.

Having stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago, was not looking forward to visiting again. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Either I got a better room thus time around or they've redone the place. The staff was pleasant and helpful, that has not changed! Location is another of the assets of the place. I felt that the rate I got was way about what I'd pay, but it was a last minute reservation and most of hotels in the area were full or higher rates. So all in all, I'm overall satisfied and will recommend the place to everyone.

Noisy AC and a terrible bed - I did not sleep for two days while I was staying there. I had room 703 - but had stayed at this hotel before at room 501 with a much better experience so it might be that is only room like 703 (street side) that is bad.
