The room was done to a very high standard and the breakfast had a lovely selection of food and even alcohol! The sunbeds are very comfortable and the jacuzzi overlooked the city. The wedding breakfast we enjoyed was delicious and the service was very good.

Excellent qwerky hotel in a great location friendly staff who understand the customer needs the view from the roof top pool area is superb great fir couples who like to relax. We look forward to our next stay

Fantastic design - modern and clean look Great location - city center and old town at walking distance Nice pool at the rooftop with warm water, great for afternoon relax Wonderful staff - nice and helpful What else? For sure to repeat!

Year after Year we go there for vacation, sofisticated and yet super comfortable. The design it's outstanding like their staff. The best recommendation I can give it's expressed in the beginning of my comment, Year after Year!

From check in to check out service was exceptional. And always delivered with a smile. Very well appointed room with excellent bed, huge walk in shower plus a bath! Very chic fittings all round! Good breakfast with great variety and the rooftop terrace bar excellent way to end the day! Highly recommended.

We have just spent 7 days at The Vine hotel and I cannot fault the service we received. The staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel itself is a boutique hotel, so lots of mood lighting and modern design but very comfortable. It is fairly new so all the communal areas are in pretty good condition and well cared for. The photos on the hotel website accurately show the standard of the hotel. We stayed in a superior deluxe double room which had a lovely big bath. The beds were comfortable and the room contained the usual hairdryer, safe, bathrobes, minibar, satellite TV etc that you would expect in a 5* hotel. My only minor criticism would be that the room lacked drawers for storage and there wasn't a seating area (apart from a desk with two chairs and one single sofa style chairs) if you enjoy having a drink in your room which we sometimes do. We paid for half board and were not disappointed as the food was excellent. The breakfasts were served in the restaurant downstairs and were brilliant, lots of choice both hot and cold and the coffee is some of the nicest I have had with a hotel breakfast. Evening meals were in the hotels roof top restaurant. Stunning views and a great selection of food and wines. The staff made some excellent wine recommendations and we enjoyed discovering what amuse-buoche and after dinner sweet would be on offer each night. The roof top terrace bar overlooks Funchal and the hills surrounding it and the views are stunning. The bar had two happy hour slots with some fantastic cocktails on offer. There is a small pool and outdoor jacuzzi on the roof top terrace, both temperature controlled. The hotel does have a spa with a steam roof and a jacuzzi. It was quite small and the jacuzzi on the roof top terrace was better as you could enjoy the stunning view of Funchal and nip to the bar for a cocktail when you need one! One of the key features of this hotel is its location. It is above a shopping centre which has some great shops in which to buy some local goodies. The supermarket on the bottem floor has postcards, Madeira wine and local poncha for a fraction of the cost of the tourist shops and the airport. There is also a food court with responsibly priced food and drinks, but there are plenty of good local restaurants just outside the shopping centre. Just 3 mins walk from the hotel is the marina and lots of shops, local restaurants, museums, the cable car to Monte and buses etc. There were some families with children at the hotel during our stay but I would say the hotel is more suited to adults or much older children as there is not much space for them to run around. I cannot fault our visit to this hotel and would highly recommend it should you want a little bit of luxury, great service, delicious food and a fantastic location to soak up the sights and sounds of Madeira.

The Staff were highly professional, but their further interest in the wellbeing of their clientele was both genuine, and exceptional! Traveling solo, I felt that I was being treated very specially: a very good feeling. The hotel is great, has won so many awards for design (about which I know nothing), but personally I found the lighting dull/gloomy in the corridors. If I was lying down on a sofa, trying to relax, then appropriate. But generally I was just going from lift to room and then out to appreciate the really relaxing areas of the hotel. Whilst the hotel building has received awards for its design, it is my opinion that it has achieved a 5 star rating due to its Staff. Anyone travelling solo, will never feel alone in this very warm and friendly environment!

We stayed at The Vine the last week of July and had an amazing holiday. The hotel is Beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice for all tastes and the food was lovely. The hotel room was very spacious and the free mini bar is a definite plus. The pool on the roof terrace has stunning views of the bay and the surrounding hillside that makes you forget that you are in the capital of Madeira. I couldn't recommend this hotel more highly and can't wait for a return visit

Excellent location within Funchal. Fantastic room with sea view and designer extras. The infinity pool and bar on the top terrace was amazing. Breakfast was beautifully served and the staff couldn't do more to welcome and help you with any aspect of your stay. Great to walk from hotel to cable car and also the old town. Buses and taxis are only 2 mins walk

This was our first stay in maderia and Funchal and staying at this hotel has made it one we will never forget. With its modern and relaxing decor it has been one of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The rooms were beautiful and extreamly comfortable and the facilities were just perfect. The staff here have been an absolute joy and made our stay one we will never forget. We highly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Funchal.
