I’m not sure if it was just me but I felt I was haunted. The TV was on itself at 3AM and there was this odd noise on the ceiling. The smell from the sewage drain in the bathroom kept me awake all night. I had to wake up at 2am to find something to block the space underneath the bathroom door. I did light up my scented candle all night, but the smell still didn’t go away. The cleanliness was terrible with the price I’m paying. Honestly, I didn’t have much sleep and it made me wonder if it was the worst stay I’ve ever had. Some of the staff were friendly, some didn’t even look at me. So overall stay if you can find somewhere with similar price I would not recs.

Excellent overnight stay in Mackay

We booked a room for one night on our week long road trip from Brisbane to Airlie Beach. The room was exactly what we expected and ideal for one night. The free breakfast was an added bonus. The highlight of our stay was our dinner at Fusion 128, which was in the centre of Mackay but easily accessed by car.

The room could have been great and value for money but it was filthy. The mirror was smeared with something, there was a pile of clothes left in the room from the last guests, the walkway outside looked like someone had vomitted and it had only been partially cleaned. Breakfast options on weekends are limited.
