It’s a modest, well-maintained motel, and a good value. Spacious rooms, plenty of coffee, etc., and a very helpful staff.

Needs maintenance. Light bulbs burned and not replaced. Carpet in the room was very old and needs cleaning. No Daily room service.

A great little spot that is centrally located in Machias.

Spacious room, friendly staff, big TV, drive up to room, good location on the west side of town, many restaurants nearby in town

The main reason I stayed here was because they have a few smoking rooms. I realize that the White Mountains is a resort area, but I thought the room was far too expensive for what I got. (If the room rate had been more reasonable, I would give it 3 stars.) The room was very old-style, but reasonably large and clean. Breakfast was not included, and the room was not provided with a coffee-maker, shampoo or conditioner. The mattress was too hard, and the pillows were too thin. There is no public computer. The motel is run by two elderly ladies, who close the office before 9 p,m, This became a major problem, since I returned late both nights, and the television malfunctioned both evenings. I had to roust them out, the first night at 9:15, and the second at about 8:45, to obtain replacement TV's. I've never stayed at a lodging where the office closes that early, and they should hire a night clerk.

Hotel was nice for the money, wifi was poor however. I noted an Ethernet cable when we were leaving so I do not know if that would have been faster. Still good value for the money.

I believe that you have reviewed the wrong motel. The White Mountains are located in New Hampshire and The Bluebird Motel is located on the North East Coast of Maine.
