My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in the City of Dreams, Macau for one week as a quick getaway trip to Hong Kong & Macau and both of us were very impressed. It is such a shame that the hotel is no longer going to be associated with Hard Rock as of 09th July, 2017 because it is absolutely stunning and the service provided was second-to-none. The view over the Venetian was breathtaking! Facilities, condition & maintenance and service of the hotel are top-notch and I don't think could have been beaten. Only qualms are the room service menu is not very diverse and everything is expensive, although that is to be expected in Macau and to a certain extent in China. Also, only four complimentary 250mL bottles of water are provided per day, which are tiny, but more can be requested from the hotel free of charge. Would definitely recommend others to stay here if the hotel was not being handed-back to the owners - and am certainly glad I stayed whilst the property was still being managed by the Hard Rock corporation.
I think this hotel rocks. The room has a very beautiful view. It has a big and cozy swimming pool. It is integrated with the City Of Dream (COD) facility: casino, shopping mall, theater and restaurants. Location is prime as it is in the middle of Cotai Strip: it is near Venetian Hotel, Parisian Hotel and many more. Very recommended place.
The rooms are reasonably clean. The convenience of the location is good. The main purpose was for the poker stars games. The room service as far as food goes was excellent. The only hassle was not a large selection for western style cooking. Asian food was in abundance.
It is getting more difficult to choose a good hotel in Macau because there are just so many to choose from. I frequent Macau and stayed in a number of new hotels in the Cotai Strip. Hard Rock is my choice in Macau anytime. There are so many huge hotels in Macau that can get overwhelming and service is probably next to none. You just feel like you are just 1 in a zillion numbers of rooms in those big complexes. However, Hard Rock is very difficult. It is probably the hotel with the least number of rooms on the Cotai Strip. You walk across the street and you reach the Venetian complex in 5 minutes. The rooms are very large and well appointed. The Hard Rock is also connected to the City of Dreams complex where there is a huge DFS shopping mall there. I love the pool at the Hard Rock. It is a pool for adults as in no water slides nothing to deter you from just soaking in some sun and getting a plunge in the pool. There is a great pool bar and most of the time is empty. The service is one of the best I've experienced in Macau with the sheer fact that there is actually not that many rooms here and you actually feel like you are taken care of. Hard Rock also have one of the best deals on the whole Cotai Strip so it is really a no- brainer to stay here. And you have to know that for all hotels in Macau the nightly rate during Friday and Saturday night is usually double or more than on weeknights with all the weekend travelers from HK and Asia. Although, if this is your first time in Macau, you might want to experience the Vegas style mega-hotels like Venetian but for me with no-frills stay, this is the place for me. Oh, and there is one of the biggest night club in Macau right at the complex. If you are into clubbing, another reason to stay here.
Heard that Hard Rock Hotel is closing down soon. The City of Dream is no longer planning to continue the franchise. Heard this from hotel folks. Service was good! All facilities were great! Nice casino, high-end shopping, food options were very good too. Hard rock store had good selection. It was raining for 2 days and we spent the entire time in the facility, super time! The hotel room was nice and clean. Nothing very hard rock about the room. Only the pillow had a guitar embroidery. No complaints overall. Go now before they shut down soon.
The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful in general. I booked an overnight stay with a friend as part of a deal to watch The House of Dancing Water. We had a lovely time. We didn't get breakfast included so can't comment on that. The swimming pool and jacuzzi the next morning was very relaxing. It was great that you can walk through to a restaurant area (we went to Din Tai Fung for dinner before the show, the Hard Rock Cafe after the show, and Starbucks for a morning coffee) What detracted from our stay was: 1) Upon arrival I was informed my card would be charged 1000MOP (they didn't say what for). I suggested that I just prepay for my whole stay and they said that had already been done (this was an extra charge). I was told the money would be "refunded in 1 month" (it has been 2 months and no sign of the refund). Perhaps they take this extra charge in case people abuse the minibar etc. I've emailed the hotel so hopefully that refund happens. It would be nice to be warned in advance and not get ambushed when you check in. 2) I asked for a non-smoking room. People CLEARLY smoke in the bathroom (no smoke detectors) and it was unpleasant to have to smell that throughout the suite. There was also a faint smell of vomit in the room. The bathroom was great and I took a long, relaxing bath. The Hard Rock Cafe (bar/restaurant) staff were exceptionally nice. The cover band was OK. We went in there as the hotel welcome pack included a couple of drinks vouchers and we felt like having one after the show. It's dark and loud so I wouldn't want to eat there but it is part of the weird contrived hotel experience so I'm not really complaining.
Great music themed Hotel. With in house casino, hard rock bar, spa, duty free shopping mall etc. Located in Taipa opposite Venetian and other landmark Hotels and casinos, City of Dreams. Nice breakfast in the lobby Restaurant.
We had stayed for 3 nights but could have stayed for anymore. Everything and everyone at the property has a different charm. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything that one could ask for. The washroom supplements are really very good too. The shower and the WC are separate. The mini bar with all the equipment is really inviting. The sound of your stay programme is another plus and makes you feel like a musician. We really enjoyed our time at the pool and the jacuzzi. The pool bar was an added plus. Buffet breakfast was pretty decent. The concierge doesn't fail to impress you at all. Anything you need is done in a jiffy. All in all a very well run setup. Would definitely return..
All the boys at the concierge are very friendly and good knowledge on the F&B recommendation. All of them can speak good English and Cantonese. The room is big with good view. The shuttle bus is very convenience for the hotel guest. Shopping is good, DFS is just the G floor of the hotel. The dumpling restaurant is delicious.
I love their rooms! It was not really a unique room but more than enough for what we paid for. Too bad we only stayed for 1 night. But what made our stay amazing was the show we watched called " The House of Dancing Water". It was one of a kind, very unforgettable experience. The show was more than amazing. It was spectacular! The reason why I only left 4-star rating is because I believe no matter how great their service is, there is always room for improvement. The food in their breakfast buffet was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the super loud sound inside the bar when we went there at night. I know it's live band and it is supposed to be noisy but I think there should be a little limit. I think the sound was too loud for the size of the room/bar. It nearly exploded my ear drums so we had to transfer to another table. That's it but everything else is fantastic!
