We spent the night at this hotel, which was ok, but the food in the restaurant was excellent. The special that night was Hamburger and chips, and it was out standing, such simple fare but excellent taste. We would stay there again.
For a short stay in the south of Limburg we needed a hotel that was close to the starting point of the 'Pieterpad'. This hotel couldn't be nicer located! We chose for the bridal suite because a bit of luxury isn't wrong after a long walk but it was way too expensive for what we got. Basically a large room with a large moldy bathroom. You really don't want to sit in a jacuzzi if it doesn't feel clean! Breakfast was ok and so was the staff so an average
The staff of the hotel is very nice. Thank you to them. Room is super basic. We had room three. No bumpers on the door jambs the doors throughout the hotel rattle loudly 24/7. It is very loud. Toilet ran constantly. No a.c. or fan so if you want air expect extreme road noise from the open window.... motorcycles, big trucks etc. This is a main route for all traffic. They made a very nice quiche but they can't grill a steak.... toughest steak ever.... good deal for the price but if you want comfort this is not the place.
A nice hotel with a very good restaurant. Helpful staff ( we were able to change our small room into a more comfortable room after asking the staff). The restaurant offers a nice variety of meat, fish and vegetable dishes in a nice atmospheric scenery. The hotel is situated a 15 minutes walk from the cosy center and 10 minutes from the railway station where you can take the train to Maastricht four times in the hour.
Nice building, but that is all to be said about it. Staff, and in particular the receptionist, who can approached through a strange, narrow half opening, need to learn a few lessons about hospitality < she didn't have a clue, no welcome, no please, thank you or did you enjoy your stay. She probably stopped asking as the answers might not have been to positive. Housekeeping just opening the door - without knocking - when we were still there - way before check-out time. Room extremely basic, no comfort whatsoever, after 23.00 hrs no one to be found (when we wanted to ask for a fan as it was extremely warm (and no airco). First and last visit to this place.
From the outside it looks OK but inside........??? Terribly disappointed, especially after the price we paid. Extremely basic to say the least. No tea/coffee making facilities, no hairdryer, an extension lead hanging down from the ceiling with a very old TV plugged into it that was "plonked" on the window sill. No dressing table or chair in room 11 and but then again there wasn't room for one. Shower/bath not exactly welcoming either and the hot/cold kept fluctuating whilst using it. Staff about as helpful as a chocolate fireguard and didn't seem to want to know. Breakfast ? I don't know what they served as "bacon" but it was inedible. Continental fare was ok though. Very, very disappointing and I don't think Andre Rieu should include this one in his website. As for cleanliness, the closet was filthy with discarded cigarette butts and other spurious items on the floor. Reported but not cleaned the following day either.
This hotel was not quite up to the quality of other Fletcher hotels we have stayed in. The boiler was malfunctioning, and making noises day and night, so kept visitors awake. It was reported, but nothing seemed to be done. It was also a bit of a struggle to get a vegetarian meal. But when I eventually did get my veggie meal, it was very good!
From the outside it looks nice and raises expectations. However it is clear that no one really cares about this hotel. Old fashioned rooms that need renovation. Staff that is just making their shifts and more ' warnings' than nice welcomes. E.g. Diner inly between 6 and 8 and you are allowed to stay in the restaurant until 10, is stated more then once.
The Fletcher hotel chain renovates run down farms, castles etc. to quite beautiful hotels on pretty good locations. Allthough well equipped, the rooms are more basic than the exterior and the public areas of the hotel as the rooms are furnished with rather cheapish materials. (e.g. a shower curtain rather than a walk-in shower, a curtain in stead of a bathroom door). Still: also the Burghoeve is worth its money, with very friendly staff, a good breakfast and good dinner. Fletcher: why not upgrade your service by offering wine-and-dine arrangements! Since almost all of your restaurants guests will also be your hotel guests, almost no one will have to drive after dinner anymore! This opens an excellent opportunity that not many restaurants can offer their guests.
This is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. We were a coach party of 41 people, this hotel is not capable of looking after larger groups of people. The evening meal should have started at 7pm, it was late, one evening the second course was not served until 8.30m.The food was very often cold and they ran out of one of the choices(there were only 2 choices). The annex at the back of the site had a very steep, to my mind dangerous staircase. I found it difficult to come down the stairs, i would add that i am not infirm and regularly walk distances of 5 miles or more. I asked for a plug for the handbasin in my room and was told that they do not supply them (most of the other rooms had them). they provided me with a pyrex dish to put water in. Our tour manager could not get much improvement because there was no manager on site she had to telephone someone in Hanover(?)They did not have enough staff or staff with experience to run the hotel properly
