I've been there from Wednesday to Saturday for business reasons. LOCATION The hotel is in the centre of Villeurbanne (40 min far from the Lyon centre by foot), in front of a nice square alive during the day but desert in the night. By the way it's well served by the metro. SERVICE The concierge service has been kind and quick. BREAKFAST Quite good but not so many kind of foods. OTHER SERVICES No gym, no swimming pool. SUMMARY Most probably I'll not come back there.
We just had 98 people staying at the Mercure Charpennes, Lyon for a business conference. We only used bedrooms as meals were elsewhere, however breakfast was plentiful, rooms were comfortable and staff were exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.
Thus was our second stay at this hotel. We stayed over Christmas. Very pleasant stay, nice helpful staff. Good room, allthough a bit warm at first. Being Lyon, public transport is close (both Tram and Metro a few steps away) We didn't eat here, but it looked ok. We tend to find a little cafe/boulangerie in the morning. Would definitely stay here again. Lyon is a great gourmand's city.
The second Mercure hotel I stayed at in my recent trip to Europe. I liked the location, was close to other restaurants and establishments. I was able to go to a Japanese restaurant nearby for some take away food. The staff at the hotel were helpful and courteous. The rooms and facilities were good.
My stay at Lyon coincided with a soccer final (?) and so was a little busier and noisier than normal. The hotel was close to the Metro which was very handy. There wasn't a lot of cafes open for breakfast nearby and the brekky in the hotel wasn't fabulous or worth the price. The bed was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was good and clean. The staff were nice.
I really enjoyed my days in hotel! Comfortable big room with excellent warm you could adjust the temperature perfect, with tea & coffee every day in the room, clean, quite, big comfortable bed & pillows!! Very nice calming colours in the room. There is a tram station & a subway in front of the hotel. Also near there is a bank & many bakeries! ! The ladies in the reception friendly and always smiling, but I would love to hear English ...I speak German & English, they understand everything but they answer in french.. This is something about all over lyon ! The bathroom very nice !!!! It was really a pleasure. Ps. From hotel you reach the city centre by feet ! It's near 🌇 Bis nächstes mal Lyon 🙌🙌🙌
Stayed for few nights on a business trip in November. Nice staff, lovely breakfast, good location with Trams outside along with shops. Well decorated rooms with good wifi however the bathroom could do with a refurbishment especially the flooring but it was adequate.
Were there with our group for one night, location is superb, lobby too small for our group with 31 pax, bed room is small, clean , bath room also small. Matraze is good, lighting is excellent, service is good in the reception and also during break fast. We came 7.50 am where most of us already there but no croissant any more , even after several demands to the waiters , then she explained croissant ran out and no more available. Breakfast is just pretty basic . We didn't know how much our tour operator pay per night , but definitely it doesn't deserve 3.5 stars , plus renovation is on going.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Nice quiet and comfortable room. Very good staff, helpful and always smiling ! Convenient for public transport (metro and tram v.close). A few places nearby for eating or a coffee. But plenty in the centre. Recommended.
Staying overnight in Lyon while heading home, we had a nice resting time. Room was quite big, breakfast offered quite a large choice. The location is close to the Parc de la Tête d'Or, so we had the occasion to walk there before leaving. A good place to stay, and there's even a pretty good Japanese restaurant nearby...
