In this hotel we had a good welcome, the bedrooms are confortable nevertheless the furniture is very old fashion. We did not like the breakfeast , no service , the bread was bad quality very hard, there is no service. Our advise avoid to have the breakfeast it is too expensive for a very poor service.
All in all a very nice hotel with friendly and english speaking staff! Loved the cozy and comfy old-school feeling of the reception and the room itself. Definitely worth your money when you're looking for an affordable hotel right next to the centrum of Lyon!
Cheap enough, but a rubbish area where the hotel is located. Room was ok (nothing like the pictures). Just a bath with a shower attachment. Nothing to hold the shower head up, and no shower curtain.... Also the cleaner just walked in on me at about 8am!!!! After a night on the drink and hoping for a lay in, I wasn't happy. Toilet cistern was also broken, which I fixed for them. Would not stay here again.
Hotel has WiFi but your guaranteed it wont work or they will tell you its been repaired. No air con in rooms making it unbearable. Rooms are basic and tiny and if you just want somewhere to put your luggage and lay down it does the job. Location is good but everything else is awful. Managed to get €90 off total price as we complained about the above so worth a try.
I really cannot understand why the drab horrible corridors cannot be revamped, it is such a depressing walk to the bedrooms. We stayed for one night as it was the only hotel we could find after attending football stadium. After reading reviews, I was not looking forward to staying here. The beds were clean and reasonably comfortable for one night. Bathroom was clean, very basic, nothing to entice you to come back. The area was not so nice but quite convenient. Wifi was fine.
shocking bed. not the best area. neon sign lighting up my room....couldn't open window then because of the bugs attracted to the light.get what you pay for. Lyon a nice place though and this is at least walking distance
We stayed here two nights during the Euro Football Championships. We regretted walking from Gare Part Dieu - it took us half an hour though some heavily populated streets. Much easier and quicker to get a taxi. The hotel itself has a decent sized foyer and we found reception quite friendly and efficient. The rooms were a decent size with a double bed although one of our party found himself in a single bed room. When booking the hotel notes the preference for a double bed but offer no guarantees on that. The wifi worked on the first evening but failed on the morning of day two. It was reinstated later in the day. Breakfast was ok with fresh bread, croissants, pastries, fresh fruit, cereals and drinks. There were enough restaurants to choose from close to the hotel which is within easy reach of the River Rhone. Overall this hotel offers unpretentious accommodation for a short stay at a reasonable price.
This hotel is within walking distance of the main train station from the airport. We paid 25 euro in taxi but spent most of the time sitting in traffic, would recommend you walk. Hotel itself is spotlessly clean. rooms are small and a bit dated. en suite bathroom was fine and a decent size. Wardrobe tiny, beds very comfy, TV obviously all French but no sky news. we requested a balcony because hubby smokes and we got a balcony. No view but he was able to smoke, so he was happy. I would recommend this hotel if you just intend to sleep and breakfast there, lots of lovely restaurants within walking distance across the river. staff very helpful, perfect English even though we tried our little bit of French.
Seedy area, bedroom miniscule, breakfast miserable overcooked croissant and a coffee €7!!!. Wi-fi utterly useless. TV shows a few French discussion programmes no international stations. Hidden charges not shown when booking through Booking.com. No air conditioning
Check the pics I posted. Hair on the beds, dead bugs, no pillow case, just a sheet wrapped over the bed roll. A layer of grime on everything and a carpet that hasn't been cleaned since the 70's. No no no. Booked for 2 days, lost the money on the cancelation. There was a condom wrapper under the bed.
