Golden Tulip Lyon Eurexpo

4.0 out of 5.0

We stayed at this hotel on our recent travels through France & Italy. For a 4* hotel, it was pretty average and the Eco reasons given for lack of facilities in the room certainly does not benefit the guest! The room rate was expensive and the restaurant had a very limited choice of menu on the night we stayed. We were shocked to discover that we had been charged 6€50 for a bottle of water to accompany our very limited choice and expensive evening meal. In correspondence with Pauline Moreau apparently this is consistent with what other 4* hotels charge for water. However, whilst we understand that a business has to be commercially viable, This level of overcharge was excessive and unnecessary. There is very limited commerce surrounding the hotel and this limits the options for dining out. All in all this was probably the least enjoyable hotel of our trip and we came away feeling that the Golden Tulip was expensive and overpriced for the facilities and services offered.

Convenient hotel for business trips, it is not close to the downtown but you can use the tramway it takes you 25 min, the stop is really close to the hotel. A comfortable room with all stuff you could need. Hotel located in a quiet area.

As I needed to be at the airport early in the morning, I wanted to select a hotel that was fairly close to the airport and not far from the city of Lyon. The hotel is fairly new, modern and spotlessly clean. The room was really good and served the purpose very well. The customer service was outstanding! The people at the reception were very efficient and helpful. I arrived at the restaurant for dinner 10 minutes before it was scheduled to close. I was treated very well and not rushed at all. Kudos! I travel with my dog who has special dietary needs, so I carry with me her food which needs to be refrigerated and ice packs that need to be refrozen daily. This presents a challenge. However, the fellow in charge of the restaurant that evening come to the rescue. Jeremy was both gracious and extremely helpful. He offered to take care of everything and assured me that there was no problem at all. I really appreciate the way that he conducted himself and he truly displayed OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER at the highest level. That was consistent with the way that he treated me at the restaurant and also with helpful suggestions on a variety of topics on Lyon. I wish that everyone would be like Jeremy who showed that he really cares about making the guests happy.Experiences like this make a big difference. Thank you!!!!!

This hotel was chosen for me I knew of Golden Tulip Hotels but not stayed in one until I went to Lyon I was pleasantly surprised it is a new modern hotel the room was very comfortable except for the pillow I like feather pillows and got back to the hotel too late to even bother to request a change of pillow I did not find a safe in the room and I did look if there was one it was well hidden

While this hotel was basically my only option in the close to my business needs, it had everything I needed. There are multiple option right out of the front door for running and walking. All of the paths in the area are well maintained. The internet connection was strong (and free!). The restaurant was very good. I was able to sit out on the patio in the evening and look out over the hotel's garden while enjoying my dinner. Recommended if you need to be in the area. Note. It is not close to downtown or the tourist district.

Hotel Golden Tulip is a 4* hotel in Lyon (Saint-Priest) located in the business quarter of Lyon at about a 20 min. drive from the city centre of Lyon. The hotel is surrounded by 2 beautifull lakes & seem to be in the middle of a green area. Positive: - spacious rooms with good quality beds - large offer for breakfast Negative: - carpets in the room NOTE: the hotel also has a fitness space. General conclusion: The Golden Tulip hotel Lyon is a good 4* hotel for business trips. As the distance to Lyon is a bit far, I'd not advice it for pleasure trips to Lyon. The hotel is good price/ quality. If you're statying here, I'd advice to get into the beautifull city centre of Lyon on the evening. I'd rate this hotel 8/10 for a 4* hotel for the nice rooms & cleanliness. Check my blog for all details & pictures on blogger: hotelchecks & hints

Nice hotel with a very good bed I must say. The staff was very friendly and spoke very well English which is always a nice surprise in France. I ordered breakfast in my room and it was very good. The scrambled eggs were not dry and very tasty. The wifi was excellent so what more do you want.

Hotel located in a green area with a beautiful artificial lake. Well served by public transport, there are good connections to go downtown. In my room there was no fridge bar, and the air conditioning was not adjustable. The rooms are nice, simple and spacious. Good cleaning. WI-FI is free and reception in the rooms is acceptable. Pleasant bar room, cozy and with good beer. Very friendly staff.

It is a good hotel. The staff was very friendly . The drinks are very expensive in the bar of the hotel. Breakfest was plentifully. The distance to the centre of Lyon is 20-25 minutes bij car. There is a Railway link near the hotel. Is takes about 30 minutes to the center of Lyon.

Stayed here on business. There's no safe in the room, or tea/coffee making facilities, both of which are pretty standard for business hotels. On enquiring about this, I was told it was because they are an eco friendly hotel!! The restaurant was very average and over priced, service poor, waiting 15-20 minutes to be served. I had to get up and walk around trying to get attention in order to place an order a couple of times . And the room has a small window, so little or no natural light coming in. So not so eco friendly after all.
