Perfect stay. Jusy a pain the restaurant was closed for Covid.

Location on Blud Ridge Parkway

Nice lodge in a beautiful location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast which wee good. Also have local draft beers.

First of all, it is on a beautiful lake and a beautiful windy road. The room was noting like we expected. It was clean, just strange. Like rooming in a basement, but you can walk out of your room to the lake.

Beautiful venue, clean grounds and rooms. Love the location and mountain vibe. A true gem of a spot. Look... I get this property is on a mountain top. But either publish that you have Wi-Fi and provide a service that is reliable and works - or - just say there is no service (of any kind). The later position would appeal to many who seek this type property and properly set the expectations for those who find the lack of a represented service extremely annoying.

Loved everything about the Peaks of Otter Lodge. It was a bit "rustic" but I wasn't expecting anything fancy. The weather was perfect even with the late afternoon storm. I was able to open my front and back doors (with the screens closed) and enjoy the weather. Enjoyed walking around the lake and even saw a BEAR! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful during my stay. Will be back and have already recommended a stay for my father.

Great Mountain and Lake views. Fun outdoor experiences.

We stayed at peaks of otter while escaping to the mountains for a few days. Great setting, amazing staff service. The bed could have been more comfortable and the room amenities could have been upgraded. BUT overall very pleased. The restaurant needs some character in the menu....BUT live music on saturday evening was perfect.

The lodge reminds me of a place out of a romantic 80's movie. And the rooms do too. Amentities are limited, the soap dispensers and old decorations give off a more cheap than nostalgic feel. Wifi is poor at best, and the TV's bleed through the walls. The pillows and bed were uncomfortable but the A/C worked really well. I didn't have a mini fridge in my room. The balcony is shared with your neighbor on our room, so don't expect much privacy with your morning coffee. What you will get is an incredible view. The main lodge is beautiful as well. The staff seemed pleasant, and handled questions and complaints well. They generally agreed with anything negative, and had a good explanation as to why things were as they were. The staff member made it clear that this was a place to disconnect, and she wished they never installed wifi or TV's. They were two very common complaints. She stated the forest service required wifi, but admitted that they knew it wasn't working after changes were made to itin the past few months. Without service on my phone, or wifi, I had to cut my trip short to stay in contact with my kids. I didn't try the resturant, but keep in mind that they are the only place in the area, and the prices reflect it Bottom line, this is a beautiful area, and a great place to disconnect from the world. If that's what you're after, and are willing to pay the higher price for, than it might be for you. If you need to stay connected, try a different hotel.

Very clean, quiet room with king bed, balcony overlooking lake. Comfortable, yet basic.

This is a gem on the blue ridge parkway. The parkway itself is such a hidden wonderful surprise and when driving through the peaceful green winding road you come upon a quaint hotel set on the lake surrounded by mountains. The plac feels historic and reminded me of YMCA of the Rockies - a mix of cabin and hotel. You can sleep to the sound of the frogs and the wind through the mountains. theres a nice coffee shop as well as a restaurant and lounge overlooking the lake. A great retreat from time and the chaos of modern life. Plus the Natl Park service was there teaching about the importance of cultural awareness in Appalachia. So interesting!

We will be back again. We will be back again. Why do I have to type 50 characters ? What's wrong with...WE WILL BE BACK! Dumb survey, great hotel!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We do apologize for the wifi problems. We have been experiencing difficulties lately and are working to fix them. We did a major wifi upgrade in the fall and I am perplexed as to why it is not working now.
