The hotel was clean, good service, good view, good prices, but the security man (who is an official police man) asked me daily for Tips !!! G They have a good breakfast, and good snaks. And they were so friendly so they gave us a big fruits dish as a cadou for our marriage :)
It was one of the worst experience for me in a hotel ! I can't believe it's a five star hotel! Despite the breathtaking Nile view the room was horrible. The AC was only cooling the room and it was cold at night; we could only warm ourselves in bed using the low-quality blankets they have got in there! The staff aren't cooperative not even smiling. The first problem we got was having a blocked sink and we called the room service and they came after 20 minutes though we told them we are running out of time so please hurry up add to this the broken toilet seat ! Second was the refrigerator that wasn't working also ! Finally the last awful thing is finding mice droppings on the wall, corners and the toilet ! We complained and expected they would offer to change the room but they didn't and waited for the housekeeping the next day and when came back we found the trash ban wasn't emptied and the mice droppings were still there and even the floor wasn't cleaned ! P.S the food is horrible! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I hated this first experience for me there in Luxor in this horrible place !
The worst stay I have ever got, room furniture is very old, towels and blankets are not clean, breakfast is poor, shower gel is not available, moreover, new guests try to open your room at 5 am by mistake?! , the only advantage is the location 3 stars will be too much for such hotel, do not try it. Not crowded, i think only 2 levels of the hotel rooms are occupied as I didn't see more than 2 guests at the common area at any time. Staff are attentive. Rooms are clean. Good view of the Nile river and sunset. Okay food. I got a free upgrade with a huge huge balcony. Love it. There are few convenient stores next the hotel, if you want to get some cheap tidbits. Getting to popular places abit of walk but if on vehicle, it is very near. My caution for anyone, careful of the horse carriage guys especially the young ones, they change price after the ride, being you to random markets, demand extra money, and also shout at you if you refuse to pay. Other than that, I Iove the hotel for the relaxing vibe. And there is a Taxi service at the hotel entrance lobby, Max Hassan, he is related to the hotel. He arranged hot air balloon, professional guide and trips to attractions at very good deal. Honest man. Avoid during peak summer month, the weather was really hot and burning. One more thing, there is KFC 2mins walk from hotel if you are into that kinda thing :D
The Isis Hotel is one of the finest places to stay in Luxor. Built on the banks of the Nile, the rooms offer you an amazing view of the sparkling river and a glorious sunset. The rooms are 5-star equivalent and are almost decked out to host royalty; they're that comfortable. Fortunately, the hotel was not at all crowded when we stayed there. It has a sprawling swimming pool and The Lotus restaurant is indeed a fine place to dine though your options are restricted if you're vegetarian. All in all though, The Isis will make your stay worthy of that of royalty!
This was clearly once a very beautiful hotel with a perfect location right on the Nile banks. I had a lovely room with a magnificent terrace big enough for two Loungers and a table and two chairs, all of which overlooked the river and sunset. Sadly, there was hardly anyone else there. I ate alone most mealtimes in a beautiful dining room. Staff could not have been more attentive, but we're so few that they were sometimes hard to find. Basic repairs clearly needed doing in some areas, but where is the money to come from. I cannot fault this hotel at all. If people would just forget about the media and go and see f or themselves they would find a superb hotel in an amazing.city
Fabulous hotel right on the Nile. Lovely place to stay , hotel was very clean and the staff were excellent , it was a little tired but overall very good. Nice choice of restaurants in hotel and nice bar and also shops to peruse. Not far to walk to centre but plenty of taxis and caleches outside the hotel entrance. If you want to venture out in the evening there are many restaurants in the vicinity to choose from too. Would recommend to all.
Luxor is very quiet due to the dificut circumstances in that part of the world and tourism is at an all time low. The hotel was almost empty. There was only us round the pool almost every day. We have been to this hotel many times and the location is excellent. However, this time the lack of tourism is showing. Its all a bit run down and faded. Its still an amazing place to stay and the pool and gardens are fantastic. The pool could have been cleaned more often though, a bit gritty with sand at the bottom. We have a twin room with Nile view. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding. There is a small fridge and a kettle with tea/coffe/sugar. The milk provided is dried so we buy our own from a small supermarket called " Arkwrights " a few streets away. this is run by an English lady & her Egyptian partner. The staff are friendly and helpful, and Mustafa the breakfast waiter is excellent. The breakfast itself offers a selection of foods, both European and Arabic. However there is little choice day after day.The dining room is spacious with lots of room between the tables. The hotel manager Mr Ali is really efficient and speaks good English and very informative. A must to visit is the " Animal Care in Egypt " hospital just outside Luxor and any taxi will take you. They treat donkeys/horses & cats/dogs/small pets for free. They rely on donations and are suffering due to the lack of tourists. Look at their web site and see if you can take anything out to them off the " wish list " Its a differant place to go when you get fed up with the sun lounger !! We will always go back to this lovely hotel as long as it stays open. Its such a shame no one is going and I fear that many of the big hotels will close and we will be devastated.
Firstly, there isn't a number of stars to reflect this hotel: this was clearly once an amazing hotel with a good location and friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately, with the downturn in the tourism industry over the last 5 years, it has become tired and a little rough around the edges. We were given a free upgrade to a superior room upon arrival, which was great. As the manager on the desk said, the city view rooms would have been noisy and less pleasant. The balcony and view from the superior room would have been well worth the money. The breakfast buffet is also impressive, particularly given that there may have been a dozen rooms in use during our visit. I really hope that Egypt can recover from this drought in tourism and that the Pyramisa can return to its glory days.
I stayed for 3 weeks, from Mon 29th June to Mon 20th July 2015.I had a very large room, with a lovely terrace. The room was well furnished, and very clean. The staff were very professional, and friendly. There were only a few tourists in the hotel, but there is nothing to worry about in Luxor. The hotel amenities are first class.
