Hotel was in a nice location and the layout is nice. Had arranged for pick up at airport but as they did not show up, we ended up taking a taxi after waiting around for awhile. Staff gave us an upgrade to a river view for inconvenience. Room was ok but very dark inside. Privided soap, shampoo and body wash (no washcloths). Provided bottled water for 1st day but not after that. Since we were told not to drink their tap water or brush our teeth with it, I thought it should be provided each day. Had mattress changed to a softer style after 1st night of trying to get sleep on a very hard bed. They have hard foam mattresses so not very comfortable. This helped a little. Breakfast consisted of a lot of vegetables, hard breakfast rolls covered in honey? Very little fruit available and not replenished very often. Lots of beans if you liked that for breakfast. Language difficulty in ordering eggs. Orange juice tasted like tang. Not very tasty or satisfying. Ordered Hamburger for lunch one day and I could not eat it. My husband ate it but not very good. Did not order lunch from them after that. Did eat at the Italian restaurant for 3 nights and found it excellent. Service was great at the Italian Restaurant. Best thing going for the resort. Everything we tried was very good and quite reasonable. Did not want to eat at the Dinner buffet after not enjoying the breakfast buffet. Average resort.
Great resort located on the Nile waterfront. Safe and secluded. I traveled with my mother and we had a difficult time with the all male staff. The room service operator was rude and yelled at my mother. The resort did not have a guest guide for the services they offered so we had to call reception numerous times which was an annoyance.
The staff at this hotel was rude. In addition, they require a marriage certificate for couples and this is not communicated anywhere in their sales materials. They refuse check-in for prepaid customers on this basis and rip off the payments. The location is far from the center of Luxor we found better accommodation closer to town at a better
The property is gorgeous from the moment you step into the lobby. The staff is welcoming, kind, pleasant and helpful. The bungalow rooms are an ample size, very comfortable and surrounded by manicured gardens and trees. The only suggestion I could make for improvement would be a more thorough cleaning of the shower stall. Cracks and crevices need more attention. The path along the Nile river is delightful. The pools are lovely. The spa is well appointed. Be aware that a 2 hour treatment ends 20 minutes early for "relaxation" time. I didn't appreciate that. The breakfast and dinner buffets are varied and good as is the service.
A full service resort with beautiful grounds, views of the Nile, great pools, terrace dining, extensive breakfast buffet and helpful staff. The rooms decor was little old fashioned, but our room was spacious enough, with comfortable beds and modernized bathroom. It was a great for our first few days in Egypt, before Upper Nile tour. We used the free shuttle into town and were happy not to be staying on one of the noisy Luxor streets.
I'm not a fan of large, fancy multi-national hotels -- they just feel too impersonal. So I choose this hotel because it still had a 5-star rating but was not part of a big chain. It was lovely in every way, with a beautiful spot on the Nile, goreous swimming pools, lovely grounds, good (but not necessarily outstanding) food, and friendly service. I would probably categorize it closer to 4-star than 5-star, because the rooms, while extremely large and nice were not exactly luxurious (shower but no tub; sheets were nice but not 400 count, etc.). But that in no way diminished our enjoyment! Also worth nothing that I had booked a Nile-view room, but had to request 2 room changes before getting a room that actually had a good view (even though the hotel wasn't full and there were plenty of rooms literally hanging over the Nile that were available). But I find that is not unusual when traveling in Africa, no matter what star hotel you are in .
