Utterly disorganized and disappointing. We paid for an extra day after our flight was changed from the night before to the morning after and communicated this with the hotel so we could check in upon arrival and not wait until 2pm. Nonetheless they somehow lost our pre-paid reservation because they printed it instead of having digital records at a 5-star Hilton. No welcome drink offered once they found our paperwork (as advertised) and they first put us in a double-double instead of the king we had booked (they offer specific choices and not ‘as available’ online, so this was indeed part of our reservation), but eventually ‘upgraded’ us to a king room. The halls and rooms were dirty appearing not to be vacuumed for some time and the food in their one open restaurant (Olives, after the breakfast buffet) was mediocre to unpleasant. That said the views of the Nile were unmatched and the Valley of the Kings was directly across from us and lit up at night. The staff after check-in were polite (although unhelpful and evasive they did so with a smile), the beds are comfortable, the showers work, and the security was top-notch. Overall, there are better, less expensive options available locally and we cannot subjectively recommend or refuse the Hilton Luxor.

Overall stay was good. Great and beautiful location. The service in the restaurants on site were not good - they were understaffed and not able to be attentive.

We had an amazing one-night stay, and were sad we hadn’t extended our trip to enjoy the hotel longer. In Egypt, not all 5 Star hotels are created equal, but this hotel is definitely at the top. The facilities are clean and beautiful, with the pool facing the Nile. We even sat on the chairs along the river and stargazed at night—the views are unparalled. From the moment we checked in, the level of service was top notch. They gave us a welcome drink and surprised us with a room upgrade and a cake for my wife’s birthday. Everyone was so happy to help. I wish I remember the associate at the front desk who checked us in, but he was so nice and had the best smile. We can’t wait to come back to Luxor and stay at the Hilton again.

Beautiful hotel on the banks of the Nile with a phenomenal staff.

Quality and comfort is the same as any 5 star Hotel in the United States. I have no complaints.

Excelent hotel, beautifull views, wonderfull staff restaurants and bar

What a beautiful hotel! For a first time trip to Egypt, let alone the African continent, staying at the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa was the best and most unforgettable experience. The whole entire staff was commendable, but special mention goes out to Ahmed of concierge (night crew), Gamal and Remon of Sunset Lounge, Mohamed of housekeeping, who made towel art for us everyday, Eman, Miki and Talaat of Rosetta Restaurant. They made us feel very welcomed and they became more than acquaintances at the end of it all. Musa, Joanne & Julieta of Nayara Spa also contributed to making our 10-day stay magical. Of the 6 categories, I gave 4 out of 5 for the amenities. This includes the spa, excursion agency onsite and a few small areas of improvements that the hotel may want to consider: 1) I informed Kairy, the Duty Manager during our stay, that the steam, herbal and thermal rooms in Nayara would be better if the temperature was hotter. As a spa aficionado, these rooms were not at the right temperature to effect the release of toxins in the body via profuse sweating. Cold cucumber slices in the spa to cover the eyes would also be a nice touch. 2) The daily fumigation that occurs between 7 & 8pm is really great to ward off unwanted mosquitoes (West Nile virus carrying mosquitoes, to be exact), but if a Nile Edge dinner is scheduled, this scheduled fumigation should be rearranged accordingly. As it was, the fumigation still occurred and the personnel relied on the prevailing winds to ensure the smoke didn't blow in our faces! It was too close for comfort, honestly. 3) The onsite travel or excursion outfit (T. Cook) should be advised to complement overnight trips with comparable hotels such as that of the Hilton Luxor. The stay at Basma Hotel Aswan included in the trip to see Abu Simbel in Aswan was not pleasing. Basma Hotel was like a Motel 6. Mind you, there are possibly very nice Motel 6s around, but this one was not. The toilet didn't work and the person who worked on it stuck his hand inside and then held doorknobs without washing his hand on his way out. The toilet worked temporarily, but was back to original state by morning. Overall though, the Hilton Luxor itself and the staff made our stay in Luxor unforgettable. It is a highly recommendable hotel when visiting Luxor. It was quite lovely and the hotel staff was unmistakably professional, friendly and kind. We are very glad and pleased that we chose to stay at Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
