The location is excellent close to restaurants and shops. Wifi connections is a plus. I never had problems. Staff available and kind at all times. Breakfast excellent and in-house services outstanding.
Absolutely loved the Grand Hotel Cravat. Of course, the location is brilliant, right smack in the middle of the city center, during our stay there, a lovely Christmas fair was being set up, with a huge ferris wheel, rounabout etc in front of the hotel. To get to the hotel, just take bus #19 (at bus stop # 7), two stops away from the train station at 3 Euro / adult. We took a taxi to the train station and it just cost 8 Euros. The hotel is old and grand, it is vintage, from another era, and I love that it is not another modern hotel. The lift is old and tiny, but we all fit perfectly and it is surprisingly very fast. Best of all, our room is HUGE! The kids absolutely loved it. The color is sunny and airy, with lovely decor and furniture. We got the bigger room, with a sofa bed, which the kids accidentally drew on!! The hotelier, Mr Cravat himself, paid us a visit to find out the kind of marker that the kids used to help them clean the sofa bed. He was so polite and understanding, while I was squirming with shame!! The bed was two singles beds pushed together, the kids had lots of fun pushing the beds apart and hiding in the middle. The view is awesome, that of the castles and what made us visit Luxembourg in the first place. The toilet is very clean and modern, with bright blue tiles. Breakfast was good, sufficient, with all that you need. The croissant was delicious, especially since you can toast it to your liking. Will definitely come again.
This is a beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is being refurbished at the moment so there is some scaffolding around some parts of the hotel. The buffet breakfast was extensive and had lots of choice of both hot and cold food. We had a room near the front of the hotel which was quite noisy at night so if you want a quiet room I would suggest you request one at the back of the hotel.
My husband had stayed here in the late 1960's so wanted me to see this grand hotel. Unfortunately we only had one night in Luxembourg before getting on a river boat, but the location of this hotel across the street from the Place de la Constitution with the view of the Petrusse Valley made it very special. Our room was quite nice and the included breakfast excellent. Not sure I would pay 25 euro for it though. The Concierge was extremely courteous and helpful - we even got to meet Carlos Cravat, the owner. Don't forget to get to the Pfaffenthal Lift and see the spectacular view from there. Also, if you want to go out to the American Cemetery, board the #15 bus about two blocks from the hotel for 2 euro each round trip. From where the bus drops you off, you do have to walk about 15 minutes, but it's a delightful walk and the cemetery is breathtakingly beautiful and tranquil..
There is just one thing that makes this hotel stand out - the location. It truly is smack in the middle of the city. Right on the edge of the grund. But this is about it. The rooms are outdated, was staying in a spacious corner room which was marvelous ... but in June with no A/C. Was hot as hell inside! Breakfast was mediocre ... The hotel needs a face-lift. If they get that done, it will be great!
Minutes from the city centre, warm welcome by a very distinguished and helpful concierge "clés d'or". Rooms are spacious, well furnished and all is spic-and-span clean. Next stay in Luxembourg I'll be back!
Beautiful family run boutique hotel! Gorgeous newly renovated room on the fourth floor overlooking the lovely golden lady atop the obelisk. Tremendous service at the front desk. Great breakfast buffet. Perfect location for visiting all the sites. Highly recommended!
Upon arrival I was a bit scared, since the ground floor go the hotel is covered for construction works, si I was a bit unsure whether it was functioning at all. The full amount of the room price was blocked on my credit card about two day before arrival, despite statement on booking.com that no pre-payment needed. I found the staff rather friendly and professional. My room had an awful smoking smell, never had any such experience in any hotel in my life. I found a male underwear in the bathroom behind the glass door, well it was a bit disappointing and gave me doubts about the level of cleaning. The choice at breakfast did not really impress me. on the positive side the location is quite good, near the centre.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for a couple of nights while visiting friends in Luxembourg. The hotel has a great ambience and the facilities were excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and could not have been more helpful. Would certainly recommend.
