Room very comfortable . Restaurant rather disappointing 3 wines on the wine list were unavailable. Veal was tough chips were cold. One of our party didn't get their meal until the rest of us were almost finished. Breakfast area was far too small for the number of guests. People were bumping into each other trying to get to the counters. Scrambled egg was cold.
+ The location is alright, you can get to Luxembourg City easily by or by bus + The hotel premises are pretty good, rooms are comfortable and modern + Breakfast is alright - All service personnel throughout the hotel is of sub-par standard - At diner, I've asked to order a drink for 4 times...After 40 minutes, still no drink...So, I decided to leave. - Warm food was cold and of sub-par quality / Cold platters were okay - Order a drink at the bar, but be prepared to wait for at least 20 minutes for it to arrive - When you encounter bar personnel they start their sentence with "Quoi?" instead of the normal "Good evening" or "Hello" - At breakfast, be prepared to stand in line for 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee or sandwich. It's poorly organised without any reason. (For now) Better to stay away from this hotel, enough other/better choices in Luxembourg. If they re-evaluate their own services and are prepared to change their way of dealing with things, I'm sure they can change for the better in the future.
My partner and I booked (in January) to stay here for a week in August. At the time of booking we requested a quiet room. Despite the 8 months notice the room we received was above the music venue and far from quiet. At 1 am on the Friday we rang reception enquiring as to when the music would finish. We were told rather curtly that they had a Porche convention on and the music would end at 5 am and there was nothing they could do about it. We enquired the next morning at reception about changing rooms but we were assured that there would be no music that night. However that was not the case. Music again that night until at least 3 am and again the next night. Our room was also situated opposite a generator of some description which ran all night. The breakfast room is large but the buffet area is a joke. It is far too small and queues everywhere. The food is ok but avoid the coffee. We dined and had drinks on the terrace which has a lovely aspect but totally spoiled by the people coming out of the bar smoking in our faces. There should be a separate area for smokers away from the terrace. The majority of staff are surly and disinterested in serving the residents. The outdoor pool was nice and quiet and never too full. There was no tea making facilities in the rooms which are standard in all hotels. There was a mini bar ok which shows the hotel only want to make money and do not really care about the customer This could be a much better hotel than it is with a bit of consideration for the fee paying guests. I would also appreciate when the hotel are responding to comments on tripadvisor that they address each comment rather than using stock answers all the time. This would add a little bit of professionalism and individuality to the responses.
HOtel located far from centre and supposed t be quit but as they host bus, toutrist are making a lot of noise in the corridor. Rooms should have been refresehd but just paintted and heating system is really old. It seems that there is no air conditionning. Breakfest is ok but coffee horrible. Restaurant is not at the level it shoul dbe and I order fish and it arrive completly cold.... nobody pay attention to you and is trying to avoid to look at you if you need soemthing. Price are expensive. I will try to avoid to go back to this hotel.
Friendly staff, nice rooms but the wifi, really? Not even email did was working reliably. No 4G either, mobile edge network. The breakfast was ok, but the coffee was the worst ever. Some kind of powder.
As part of our plan to visit all the major European cities, we spent the weekend of 13th to 15th October in Luxembourg. This hotel looks a good choice; on the face of it just outside the centre but with good amenities. We were in room 439. The first thing that surprised us was that there was no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. The room itself was okay, albeit, only with a shower no bath. We decided we have got too late to go into the centre and ate in the hotel. The meal was €88; consisting of carrot soup x two, veal with vegetables, A "deconstructed" chicken curry which consisted of a piece of chicken, rice and a small pot of curry sauce as well as a pineapple juice and Coke. It was okay but hardly gourmet. The waiter behind the bar gave me a pot of hot water to use for a Lemsip. Breakfast on Saturday morning was like being in a cafeteria. You took your own tray and help yourself to everything waiting in ridiculous queues. The hot food, slushy scrambled eggs and slightly undercooked bacon as well as mini sausages but I'll be appetising. As a city, look Luxembourg has little to offer timing: the hop on bus takes about an hour and a small "train" takes a similar time: you have more or less seen the city by then. Certainly do not want to 3 days we had optimistically given it. The restaurants are many but quite expensive, it being difficult to find anything decent in less than 80 euro category for two people. We returned to the hotel about 9 PM. This is where the title comes in: on asking for a cup of hot water I was told I had to pay 1 euro. Now that is very little but it is the principle that counts. I queried this with reception and was told that was correct. The female way to behind the bar was very surly and reception did not want to know. I found the hotel staff, overall, rude disinterested and surly. Breakfast Sunday morning was, if anything, worse than Saturday. The queues were bigger, the scrambled eggs were sloppier and they ran out of small spoons and knives so you have to wait until I had washed some for quite some time. Possibly the worst breakfast I have had in a hotel for several years. We decided to leave later that day rather than on the Monday. We made the mistake of having lunch in the hotel. I was only a set menu which was €36 each. First course was celery soup which was okay. But my main course I had duck, which was presented with mashed potato a top and a few vegetables. The potato was hard, having obviously been microwaved and the chef had done his best to suck out all the flavour from the duck. My wife had the most tasteless the veal I have ever come across. We both had the apple tart to finish. We were only given a spoon to do so, which was unfortunate, said you needed a knife to cut through the hard apple and the pastry which hard outside and soggy centre. The waitress asked us if we and enjoyed our meal; which I thought was very obvious from the amount to be left for the main and pudding. Oh, and we waited 15 minutes before being asked if we wanted a drink at the starter took 30 minutes to arrive. The five people on the table adjacent to us all sent their main back and I noticed this from several tables, as well as people going up to the waitress to ask for their orders to be taken. €82 for a mail which was well substandard to that of a pub meal. The total cost for the hotel and food was €482. This is not a four-star hotelIt barely reaches the standard of a Premier Inn. My wife made use of the hotel pool but said it was very cold. The outside pool was full of leave and unusable. We left Luxembourg feeling distinctly underwhelmed, particular by this hotel. The other poor reviews on this site are not "harsh" as one review has commented but seem to me to be exactly on point. We have stayed in many hotels over the last five years and this ranks as one of the bottom hotels for a purported four star. Save your money and book a premier in somewhere like Durham or Edinburgh; at least the people. Are more likely to be friendly than at this hotel. Oh yes, and take a travel kettle.
This was our second time there but definitely the last one. After the last time we were sent and apology email therefore we decided to give it a go one more time. We have been travelling as a couple with 2 small dogs just like the last time. Upon arrival we were informed that only 1 dog per room is allowed so we have to book another one room if we want to stay in the hotel with both of our dogs. Seemed like rules have changed but no one has informed us about it while we were booking the room. I literally hit the roof and asked to speak to the manager but he wasn't even bothered to come out from the back office so to shut us up he decided we can stay with 2 dogs in one room just like it was last time (and by the was it was allowed). Receptionist was pulling faces and rolling her eyes when we asked her for explanation. Very unprofessional. Everything else was average just like the last time. They also had 2 wedding receptions at the time when we stayed there. It was very loud outside of the hotel until 3am. Aircon wasn't working properly so our stay was pretty miserable. But from what we have heard from other guests at the reception we weren't the only unhappy ones.
We stayed at hotel for 2 nights, rooms are OK nothing exciting front staff were very helpful in providing information to get around town. Breakfast included is OK choice of food has a reasonable variety. We planed to have diner at hotel restaurant. We sat for 30 minutes had to get up twice to ask for menus. We ordered drinks waited 10 minutes and left. The waitress ran after us to tell us we had to pay for what we ordered even if we had not be served. The manager offered us compensation but by that time the damage had been done. Suggest if you stay eat out.
Located appr 7 km from the City center, this hotel has renovated spacious rooms and free parking space. With a busstop just across the street you're in the City center in 5 minutes. Breakfast was very crowdy and long queues for the coffee machines. The airco ( room 357) was making noice like a helicopter squadron... be sure to ask for a room at the backside, so you don't hear the sound of the busy street. Price/ quality ratio is Ok, I would not rate this a 4* hotel however.
The hotel view is on a quite busy road, it can not be considered a 4 stars hotel. The room was not completely clean and the bad was really uncomfortable. The breakfast room is a meeting room utilized for breakfast in the morning really a sad place. Final valuation: to be avoided
