We stayed at this hotel on June last for a weekend. The place is spotless, food is good and the staff are very efficient and professional. We couldn't use the swimming pool but same was clean as the jacuzzis in the area.
It's a wonderful place to go and relax with a romantic atmosphere and comfortable rooms, highly recommended. I will return for my next vacation and relax in this wonderful hotel. Thanks for your hospitality and good attention.
Lunaguana has a beautiful weather!!! The air is clean. The resort’s staff was friendly. The food was excellent. Clean rooms and nice swimming pool. It is an eco friendly Hotel. Great view. There is also a water rafting activity available. My family had a great time!!! Wish we could have stayed longer!!
Best place to stay in lunahaná. The rooms are confortable. The breakfast is great. The pool is nice. The view is great too. You have also the service for guidence in different activities to do in Lunahuaná. You have a safe parking lot.
We stayed here for the 2nd time as a family, for 3 nights, but probably will not be back. On the plus side, the location - on the banks of the Cañete River, 5 mins up the road from Lunahuana - is great; and the pool with a water slide was a real hit with the kids. There is also a small adventure playground. The restaurant is open all day, and the food is decent, but a little overpriced, by Peruvian standards, with starters costing from $7 and main courses from $10, approx. Breakfast was included in the room price, but is an uninspiring buffet of cereal, yoghurt, bread, cheese & ham and scrambled eggs, washed down with pineapple or papaya juice and coffee. Crying out for some fresh fruit and vegetables, especially given that Lunahuana is an agricultural zone, renowned for avocados, grapes, apples, papaya, among others. Breakfast was meant to start at 8am, but that was not the case on the days we were there. The gym has 4 decent machines, but its position near the pool and next to the sauna and toilets, does mean that kids tend to wander in, keen to play with the equipment, which is distracting. There is free WiFi, but it is very weak. I suspect this is not the fault of the hotel, however, given its location in a steep valley, but it shouldn’t be used as a selling point. Our room (#204) had 4 beds crammed into what was basically a twin bedroom, meaning that access to the shelves and fridge, and to the terrace, was impeded. There was one bedside table with lamp, plus a small table and two chairs. The room had A/C and a ceiling fan, neither of which we found necessary, but may have been welcome at hotter times of the year. The terrace is quite spacious, but as it overlooks the car park and main road, and had no furniture on it whatsoever, was pretty much redundant. Given that the hotel seems geared to families, though, the decision to start karaoke in the small hotel bar every night at 11.30pm does seem a strange one. The noise of awful singing travels throughout the hotel, and is especially bad, if you have a room near the front. Overall, the hotel attracts people from the suburbs of Lima, keen to spend time in the countryside, but unable to leave the trappings of city life (i.e. smartphones, loud music, TV) behind. It cost about $150 a night for the 4-person bedroom, which again doesn’t really feel like value, for what is essentially a functional and charmless property. It had the air of a hotel where the owner hadn’t set foot in the place for a long while. I’ve no way of knowing if this is true, but there didn’t seem to be anyone in charge and setting standards. The staff were not unpleasant, just perfunctory.
We stayed there one night, the place is nice and clean, staff is friendly.....like that the front desk lady spoke English. Internet connection sucks!!! .......appetizers were ok. We gave this place 4 stars just because the internet connection.
We stayed one night at the end of November, wish we could have stayed longer! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool with slide was a big hit with the kids! The welcome drinks were a nice touch and the restaurant food was really good (causa and chicharron de pollo.) The grounds were beautiful, lots of flowers/plants/etc and a path going down to the river. Wifi did not work very well, but that seems to be the case at most hotels in Peru where i have stayed. I really don't understand the negative reviews, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend without hesitation.
We arrived at the hotel and it appeared nice from the outside gates. We were greeted and at the lobby problems started as the lady behind the counter took about 20 minutes and mentioned our next day activities were not confirmed yet. We had booked the largest room available, a 4 bed which had the only balcony and double doors (in theory it was the best room available). We weren't offered any welcome drinks and were told Wifi worked with the password they gave us. Once in the room there was no working wifi, we figured we would just use our 3g in the phones. At dinner prices were exorbitant, 50 soles for a plate of camarones which were not very good. 40 soles for other camaron plates. Prices were expensive for the average quality food. Waiters were not very knowledgeable and barely 18 years old, we could tell they are temporary workers. He even mentioned not to leave a tip as the hotel never gives them the tips because they are "temp" workers. The pool is tiny and nowhere near what photos appear. The hotel is relatively small and nowhere near a 5 star. This is a 2 star hotel at best, maybe 2.5 stars for American Standards. Short story it came Sunday and we never had our welcome drinks, we asked at the counter and told them we would accept bottled water instead for the trip back, and the guy said NO! Just pisco sours! So are we supposed to get drunk off pisco sours right before we are driving back to Lima?? Service was just BAD and we let the guy at the counter know, he really did nothing. Wait he did give us another option, he said "you can have papaya juice in the restaurant"... Papaya juice is free with breakfast on Sundays so this was not a welcome drink equivalent. It's really just inferior service. Book a different place, will never recommend this place. Ping pong table has very poor lighting so its impossible to play after 5pm. PS: Read other reviews and you will see that others also mention restaurant quality is not good at all. Service in general was completely sub-par and this hotel is really just lying when they advertise "5 stars".
This is essentially a 3.5 star hotel that delivers that level of product. There's nothing really bad but nothing really great either. It's kid-friendly...the water slide was a big hit with our daughters. The restaurant and pool area are definitely understaffed and poorly trained. The buffet lunch and dinner was plentiful but food quality and presentation need some work. No salads, fruits and vegetables. Breakfast was very weak. The room was clean but could use a refresher. No wi-fi, no view. Overall, an ok stay and I prefer it over Rumi Wasi. However, we would probably try something else next time.
Hotel and restaurant were seriously understaffed.Meals were of average quality. The wait was painfully long for even simple orders of soup, beverage. One morning the restaurant staff did not show up and they were unable to open for breakfast until they assembled some of the maintenance staff to prepare breakfast. :-( Oftentimes the tables were not cleared from the previous meal. Rooms and grounds in need of TLC.
