The hotel is easy to find as it sits close to the main roads. Surroundings are quite well supplied with stores and fast food restaurants, centre of town is just a few minutes drive away. Rooms were nice and clean but very warm. It got a little better when I turned of the underfloor heating in the bathroom, but I was a bit surprised that there was no thermostat in the room to adjust the temperature. Breakfast is plentiful and covers all tastes, staff is friendly and helpful so in all it was a very nice stay.
We stayed at the Scandic as many times before when visiting LULEÅ. This time we got a family room that was quite worn out compared to our other stays. The breakfast was ok, but quite crowded. The children play room needs to be renovated, it is really crappy (Scandic Luleå, please put some energy into this!!!) All personnel have been great and supported us really well. I can really recommend to take the walk around the "Mjolkudden Tjarn" backside of the hotel, you will learn a lot about the biology connected to the place. Also the swimming pool and the gym is great. I will come back again, but request a more modern room.
We booked 2 family rooms and when we came the girl at reception said us that the booking.com has a bad advertisement and they don't offer family rooms. So we had to hire antoher two rooms becasue we needed 8 beds. After that we realized that they are lying and they offer family rooms also at their official webpage. Can you imagine that you have to pay doubled?
A nice hotel for families, great kids menu and at good price. The breakfast buffet could be better, have been to other Scandic hotels with much better breakfast menu. Friendly staff. Nice pool. Clean rooms. Good parking.
Scandic Luleå is a classic Scandic hotel. Have you seen one - you have seen them all. The rooms are nothing fancy, but they have all you need except from the minibar (the reception has a wide range of drings and snacks)
Hard to get the room really dark during night due too midnightsun. Have told the Hotel about the problem. A bit out of citycenter but a 15 min walk and you are there. Friendly personel an excellenta breakfast.
We knew we would arrive very late and decided to call the reception to inform them. At the 7th attempt they finally answered. I know I did not have to call them but I wanted to and find it quite odd that no one answered the phone. When we arrived, tired because of driving all the way from Vaasa, the service could have been more friendly. It felt like they just threw the key to us and that's it. We had to navigate our way to the right lift by ourselves and all that. Well, at least the hotel is not too big. Our room was wonderful, I really liked the interior. At the breakfast you could really see the effort they put to it. They had made these little vitamin shots for guests and also portions of yoghurt with seeds and honey. Delicious! Everything was clean and very nicely on display. We enjoyed our stay in Scandic Luleå and would definitely recommend it to others.
My husband and I stayed here for one night in April 2017. To be honest, it was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. The hotel is situated outside the city centre, with a McDonald's and a gas station next to it (not that appealing), but there is a nice lake behind it. The rooms were clean and modern. The service at the hotel was ok at best. We had dinner at the restaurant, and even though we were there right after opening, we had to wait a long time to get our food. I ordered diet coke, but got the regular coke instead. The food was ok, but after we were done, nobody asked if we wanted dessert and we again had to wait for the check until we finally got up and paid at the bar. The following morning the breakfast buffet was plain and the vegetables were stale, we couldn't even finish the scrambled eggs which were very soggy. The restaurant is also closed on Sundays. The biggest problem that the hotel had was that it was increadibly noisy. Apparently there was a kids' sports team staying at the hotel, and they were running up and down the corridors, banging other people's doors, screaming and apparently ripping down the do not disturb -signs. We called the reception around midnight to ask them to do something about it, they said they'd "try", but it didn't help at all. We were unable to sleep because of it. The ruckus continued the following morning before breakfast. We also saw lemonade bottles that were apparently thrown out of the windows into the back yard. The hotel has a pool, gym and a sauna. We tried out the pool and the sauna, which were nice, but the shower room / changing room is poorly designed. There's no place to hang your wet bathing suit, and the water spreads everywhere in the room when you have to walk around to get a towel or something. All in all, it was really a disappointment to stay here, and we definitely won't be coming again.
Nice hotell, looked like most Scandic hotels. Had the family room with bunkbeds, quite small room, but ok. The room was a bit dusty though Staff was super friendly, and breakfast was great :-) would stay there again!
A simple bussiness hotel close from city downtown. With a lake just in front of it, there is the posibility to do some water sports during the summer. Breakfast buffet is huge and you request Your own dishes to the cooker. Hotel Staff very kindly.
