The person at the reception desk gave us a warm welcome and was a big help with our baggage. Our room was big, comfortable, clean and gave a beautiful view on La Ria. In the room we found very nice attentions. Our bathroom was very big and comfortable with one negative point: the revolving shower wall of glass misses a strip of silicones resulting a lot of water comes out of the bath taking a shower. This remark I've made at an earlier stay. Wining and dining in the restaurant is very good. The staff of the restaurant is friendly and efficient. A compliment for the waiter Pepe. The breakfast buffet offers a extensive choice with good quality of all products.
Only stayed one night. Room lovely & spacious with an area, with a view, to relax in. We liked having a small hallway to separate the bathroom - shame toilet flush broken. However as only there overnight & able to connect button each time ourselves we only told them of fault as we checked out so perhaps would have fixed it. Still a fault that they must have known about when preparing the room for our stay Despite our problem I would definitely stay again as pluses far outweighed this.
Holiday and Sightseeing. I have already made a number of recommendations which I hope you take on board. There were no facilities other than the Bar. Perhaps a gym ,sauna or swimming pool. could be added.
We had bokeed a room for One night and was notifified on the booking confirmation that no view was offeret from the room. However when we arrived we were given a room in the basement with a small Window in the top of the room. The room was without aircondition, despite it was announced AS a four star hotel. The room was sold at a price of 214€ which simple is Way out, Maybe it is ok for a nice room with a nice view, however NOT ok for a room in the basement. In general the hotel looked old and used. A hotel that Can NOT be recomended at all.
We had wanted to visit Galicia for some time, so on this trip we made it a point to stay in a couple Paradors in the region. Our first stop was in Ribadeo. The hotel is convenient for visiting the Rias Altas on the northeast coast, but isn't all that spectacular otherwise. The staff were not particularly helpful, although some of that could be attributed to our lack of Spanish. One of us has a mobility disorder, but despite having mentioned that in our booking, we were given a room (308) at the end of a long corridor, which also required climbing a few steps just to get to a small lift. An interesting side note: when we left, one of us had left a case with various prescriptions on the bed stand. We called back that evening from another parador and asked if anyone had found it. The person who answered didn't know anything about it. We got a staffer to call back the next morning and explain exactly what we were looking for and which room we had stayed in. This time they found the case and, with a little negotiation, arranged for someone to drive to our current lodging (about 2 1/2 hours) with it. It makes one wonder about the housekeeping. The room itself was quite spacious and had a porch that looked out over the Ria de Ribadeo. The view was somewhat hampered, though, by a working lumber dock on the near bank. It wasn't noisy but not exactly the romantic view the Parador implied. The breakfast was ok, typical parador buffet style. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but were able to get supplies at a grocery a few minutes walk away. There are several restaurants nearby as well. All in all, I think there might be better choices among the Paradors in the area.
We stayed for just one night but it was very accommodating. The view from the rooms and restaurant were lovely and following a previous reviews we requested rooms overlooking the river which we received and were well worth it. The rooms were spacious and nice, although air con would have been nice as it was quite hot. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast which was delicious at both meals. The service at dinner was efficient, nice choice on the menu and the view was a nice addition.
We came to this hotel after leaving the hot area of Santiago de Compostela (around 35 C), some 180Km to the South and enjoying a very good fish lunch at Rinlo (a village nearby). Our navigator had some problem of finding the location of the hotel. Therefore we used a different navigation system from our cellular. Bare in mind that the hotel has a parking zone specifically for the guests. In our trip, we tried to book Parador's hotels due to its reputation, (beside in Santiago de Compostella which was all booked). The reception was quick and pleasant. Our room were nice, clean, quiet and large with the view to the Ribadeo's port and their bathroom was great, From our window we saw huge amount of trees to be sent by ships, and their uploading process. We sated there for a night in order to enjoy their wonderful local shore: Playa de las Catedrales. In the morning we went to the local cafe for a breakfast and after that we continued our tour. Hhighly recommended.
Just stopped for lunch, when passing through. Sorry but I cannot recommend the place. Restaurant could do with a better chef. The staff are friendly enough and give a good service. And it has a nice view across the estuary. Typical Parador, missing that je ne sais pas. And would not be my first choice if looking for a place to stay. Having said that I have not looked at other places in the area.
This Parador was our second stop on our tour of Northern Spain. Whilst not as nice as Cangas it was still very good with lovely views across the river. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The main problem was the lack of air conditioning in the bedroom.
Once again a reliable Parador stay. If you are in Spain and intend to stay near a Parador choose that over any other accommodation....you will not be disapointed. The view from the room at this parador was the best feature....yes it overlooks a small port...but it's so interesting and changes daily! Beyond a view to the hills....
