We stayed at Le Lido after 6 days driving through Corsica. It was a great little hotel , close to airport to deposit our car and a wonderful place to chill out before the next part of our trip. The pool was lovely and the walk to the beach was easy. The hosts and staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The dinner was delicious as was the breakfast.

Don't let appearances fool you. This is a wonderful little gem off the beaten path. The Hotel is very clean and the food is delicious (the husband/ owner is the chef). The staff couldn't be nicer and goes above and beyond to accommodate their guests. The owners, Pascale and Henri are very sweet, as is Nina who takes care of the breakfast and other things around the property. The pool is big and well maintained. We had breakfast on the terrace by the pool every morning. There is a little path that takes you from the hotel to the beach in 5-10 mins. Free Wifi. Parking. On the "Lido de la Marana". About 10 mins from the airport.

Hotel is conveniently located a very short drive from the airport. Those who claim it is difficult to find probably turned off the "main" road too soon. If you stay on the through road there is a huge sign to indicate the turning off. Hotel looked a little unwelcoming from the approach but that was soon forgotten. Received a fabulous welcome from the owner of the hotel She was helpful, charming and welcoming. Sadly she advised that the restaurant at the hotel was not open on a Sunday evening which was a huge disappointment. However she recommended a place a short drive away which turned out to wonderful. The room was on the small size as was the bathroom but was perfectly adequate for one night. There is a beach a short walk away which was quiet and clean. The bar and swimming pool area were really nice as was the service we received there. Breakfast was not a feast but better than average for the hotels we stayed in during the week.

Just returned from a four day visit to this hotel. Hotel was lovely and clean and all staff were welcoming and helpful. Manager went above and beyond and even drove me to the airport when all taxis in the area were cancelled.

This hotel was a bit of a mixed bag and is difficult to recommend. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted by a huge amount of negativity from the owner because we hadn't hired a car. Rather than offer to book us taxi's if required, we were made to feel as if we were an inconvenience (It actually turned out that there were 5 or 6 restaurants/eateries within the local area and a supermarket, which was sufficient as we were only there for a week). This approach was replicated on several other occasions, for instance, when we ordered food on day at 2pm and the owner sighed and implied that it was an inconvenience as it was too late. This was extremely disappointing as we could see that other tables were still being given menus to order food and we physically couldn't have eaten any earlier as no tables were free. The food was of a very high quality and wasn't too expensive, but it was a shame that we were treated this way. The pool is probably the main attraction of this hotel and was well maintained and kept clean. It should be noted that this is not exclusively for hotel guests and many locals seem to have a few drinks which then allows them to use the pool. This was never a problem for us as there are plenty of sun loungers. The room wasn't particularly clean and was basic. It was also slightly tired and neglected. For instance, there was a diffuser on display which was empty and dusty, which indicated that it hadn't been replenished for a very long time. The shower also leaked. On the plus side, the room did have air conditioning which was very effective. Overall, this hotel is difficult to recommend, particularly if you aren't fluent in French. Whilst we do speak a little bit of French and made an effort, none of the staff could speak or understand English very well.

A very clean and pleasant hotel situated 10 minutes from the airport, the proprietors and staff were very welcoming and though we spoke very little French their command of the English language enabled us to get along fine. We had many a pleasant afternoon by the pool which was kept spotless. We can also highly recommend the restaurant where we had excellent service and food through out our stay. We didn't have a hire car but we were able to visit Bastia easily on the local buses. A very relaxing holiday was had

I took my daughter to a wedding in Corsica and stayed in this really lovely hotel with great swimming pool, comfortable bedroom and a very friendly welcome from the owners. Pascale and her husband are unbelievably helpful - even dropped us to the airport as the taxi was so expensive! If your looking for value for money, you cant go far wrong here. Thoroughly recommend the place - and very close to the airport!

We spent one night at the Le Lido because we were passing thru the area. The rooms were pretty basic however the service was excellent. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating (since we didn't speak French). We didn't have time to check out the pool and beach area, so we can't comment on that. The restaurant was excellent - both for dinner and breakfast.

Le Lido's Mme Pascale is really friendly and makes you feel welcome with her flashing smile. The hotel is nearer Marana or Mariana beach than Pinetu, but is about 7-8mins walk from the sea, down the back alleys of the village. If you find the abandoned concrete houses, you're getting near the sea! An endless sandy beach... Hotel Le Lido is situated about 10 mins from Bastia Poretta airport: drive past the 12th centrury Church of La Mariana and eventually turn left, past La Laguna Hotel (being rebuilt July 2012 so no info there). Le Lido is unprepossessing from the outside, but is clean and modern inside - I had a really nice double room. No balconies, but the building is low-rise, so it didn't matter. My room looked out over the village, with the smell of a pine tree wood fire wafting in, and only the sound of birds to intrude. Air cond is included. Menu was essentially Corsican, with a strong influence of Italian cuisine. The pool was fastidiously cleaned - in fact the whole hotel was so. I found it very de-stressing and hope to return again soon. Special thanks also to staff member Florrie (from Bucharest) who was very helpful, friendly and spoke a bit of English! Hope she is re-hired next year. Please note: I hired a car for my visit, at Poretta airport. They require you to clean and vacuum the vehicle at the end, as well as filling up with fuel. Otherwise they charge you E65! Most garages have a self-service cleaning facility, and I spent about E4 in coins doing it in Borgo. But don't be put off by this - my visit to Corsica was wonderful, helped by my stay at Le Lido. Remember, you have to change your expectations when you visit this fascinating island - I am tempted to say country. PS there is only one shop nearby - it is a 20 mins walk in the heat, so I would say drive there, about 1km north, following the beach road. Otherwise go back into town, Borgo, a few minutes back to the main road N193.

We enjoyed a friendly welcome, spotlessly clean room and decor with character which had clearly been given some artistic thought. The Proprietors were helpful, polite and efficient; dinner was delicious, the pool was a peaceful oasis and the staff were smiley and considerate. We lacked nothing (except perhaps a kettle in the room but this seems to be the norm in continental hotels) We were sad to leave, we would definitely stay there again and if we didn't wish to keep it as our secret (smile!) we would recommend Hotel Lido strongly.
