We almost cannot express how much we loved this hotel. The building with its veranda, the bar and restaurant and the beautiful colonial rooms. The garden is an oasis! We stayed with 2 adults and 2 kids in one suite. Best of the hotel was the staff. Always friendly, helpful, correct. From the hotel manager to the cleaning staff. They made our son's 9th birthday a great succes by singing for him and offering us a delicious birthday cake. Every night we found a little present in our room: bamboo straws, soap, clay elephants. A gift for us, but also to support villagers that make these. The food was wonderful and the restaurant is one of the few places in town that has a kids menu. We loved sitting in the bar at night when the kids were asleep. The hotel is a few minutes out of town, but the hotel provides bikes and a shuttle service. We are definitely coming back!

the hotel is french colonial and it is really beautiful, they took good care of all the details, the rooms are awesome, they are quite big and have a balcony. they have tv with international channels. the pool is beautiful and the restaurant next to it very nice. they give you small details at your room every night which makes you feel more like home than a hotel. the only comment I would have is that I had some trouble at the restaurant a couple of times because some people dont speak good english but they are very nice. some staff members speak english french and even spanish. i wish I can go back again!

This magical hotel with a lovely warm and cosy atmosphere since check-in really took us on a amazing journey in Luang Prabang. All staffs were very friendly and knowledgeable with sincere smile. Our Suite had a gorgeous view over the garden which me and my wife enjoyed spending time on the lovely balcony everyday. Breakfast was excellent as well as the afternoon tea! The hotel provided guest with shuttle bus to town which was very convenient. Thank you for Julien GM et Francis RM for their outstanding hospitality. We will definitely come back again :) Charles & Amy

My girlfriend and I visited for two days two nights and absolutely loved this place. A bit higher end for Luang Prabang but we thought it was totally worth it. Great food and drink, the grounds were nice and had a lot of character. Staff were the best.

Avoid ground floor rooms as many of them face an ugly cement wall. Check reservations as management does not honour guest wishes. Slow service at the restaurant. Swimming pool close to main street and noisy.

Well to be fair, it is a pretty place which costs a pretty penny. The staff is courteous and attentive, no complains but I am not so sure I felt this place is bang for my buck. First off, this hotel is situated a bit away from the city centre where most of the attractions, shopping places, restaurants etc are. If you are coming to stay here for a bit of rest, quiet and rejuvenation - It is brilliant. But its not the kind of place you can walk off and find everything you need at a stones throw. The hotel does make up for it by providing shuttles to the city centre post office every hour and pick up as well. So why the 4 stars? Couple of reasons really First off the food - while the food from the kitchen was tasty, the spread options are limited or atleast I found it limited. Its a small property so understandably they do an ala carte breakfast. Now for a vegetarian like me the options were boring. Good to taste but boring. I am on a holiday, luxury property - I guess that alone builds up expectations. The stewards were very polite and eager to attend to your needs but one had to repeat requests which I found a little off putting. In dining menu was also limited. I am surprised because at a property in Vang Vieng which was also luxury, little smaller, the spread options was better. Second, the plumbing in the bathroom was atrocious, I like a good shower and i struggled with mine( both the showers would shoot out at once and the shower knobs were leaking). No doubt the aesthetics of the room, the decor everything was beautiful, but bathrooms define it for me :)) Luxury is about the passive perfection you see in the details and here i found surface level attention but not to things one level down. I would have given a three but for the exceedingly sweet and polite staff and hotel manager. But I guess across laos one cant help but admire the sweet disposition of the people.

We stayed 3 night in December at Luang Say. Everything about it was fantastic. Great restaurants, great staff and great, large rooms. We stayed in the suites upstairs and loved it. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

We had a family trip and this hotel is just great, the facilites are very nice the meals are very good but the staff is the best, all under Julien Otzenberger. the general manager leadership will do their best to keep you very comfortable. Inés also did a great job for us, we lost a luggage in the airport and she helped us to find it and bring it back to our room. Thank you very much for all the help

This is one of my favorite stays of all time. Beautiful hotel with an old colonial feel. Close to town. Our family of four had an amazing stay at Luang Say Residence. After a long day of travel, we checked in late (9:30pm) and they accommodated us with a fabulous dinner by the pool. The large rooms (suites) are well appointed with every amenity well thought out. The staff is warm, welcoming and willing to help with any need. The GM was also very welcoming and made sure to check in that everything was to our liking. There was a rush at dinnertime to get transportation to town for our reservation and the hotel quickly jumped to attention to make sure we had a ride to town. It was a perfect hotel experience. We will be back - and our daughter says she will be back for her honeymoon. Beyond 5 star. A BIG thank you to everyone there.

Our family of three (two adults and a 14 year old) stayed in a Pioneer Suite with an extra bed, which was very comfortable and of a reasonable size. The bathroom was of a good size and had decent amenities. There was a nice swimming pool and the gardens were beautiful. Very decent breakfast service, though the choice was quite limited. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The senior management was highly visible and made an effort to meet and speak to guests on a daily basis. The hotel provided a shuttle bus with scheduled times into town in the evening, but also were more than willing to transport you to town and back outside of those times if the shuttle was free, which we made use of on a number of occasions. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.
