I think they do everything at this hotel with a great attention to detail. We just spent five days here and from airport pick up to farewells it was charming experience. There is a very french feel to the hotel the small touches in the rooms are thoughtful and we appreciated it all. The coffee in the room is freshly ground Laos coffee ( delicious) and is presented daily with a french press so a tasty beginning to the day. Robes, slippers, plenty bottled water, daily cookies and crips to stave of hunger. ear plugs, complimentary juices in the fridge and great quality toiletries. Breakfast was excellent, everything fresh and well presented. Breads, fresh nuts, cooked cold meats, yogurt, cakes all of it additional to your chosen breakfast dish. We did try the spa attached to the hotel and yet again standards are high, products were quality but most of all the staff in all areas of this hotel are focused and do an exceptional job of making any and every part of your stay enjoyable. The location of the hotel is walking distance to the route the monks walk in the morning and to receive their "alms" and night market etc all easy reached. Late out check out no problem. Internet service in rooms strong. Free bikes supplied by the hotel. Motorbike ordered for you if preferred. All round great experience of a privately owned hotel who care about the experience their guests have when staying .
We had an incredible stay at the hotel. Upon arrival we were offered welcome drinks and a refreshing towel. The staff are friendly, breakfast is great, as are the dinner and cocktail menus. The spa was really good too. The location is excellent, overlooking the river. The common area is really relaxing. Wifi is free and fast. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, but the toilet is open to the room, which will not be to everyone's taste. The shower is also unusual, in that is has a circular wraparound curtain, so you might be rubbing against wet shower curtain while showering. Again, this won't be to everyone's taste, but it wasn't more than a minor irritation for us. Two bottles of complimentary water are provided per day, as well as a complimentary mini bar with a cooldrink, beer, cold water and a pack of biscuits and chocolate, which was a welcome surprise. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Anywhere that gives you a massage, cool mint towel and refreshing drink and full guidance on check in has to deserve 5 stars. And service and attention to detail didn't decline for the rest of our stay. The hotel set over 4 colonial buildings was beautiful and full of heritage design treats. Gorgeous furniture and classic design. Staff, food service all perfect. Even a classy place to play pool, drink cocktails and chill. And you couldn't ask for a better location although I'd stay here even if it was in a less convenient place. Food is great value, wine list good and beer cold. Did I mention the beautiful views over the river?! Thank you team burasari for a dream stay.
Located towards the end of the promontory between the Mekong and the Namkhan river, this is a collection of wooden buildings in local style. This means you may need to go outside to get to reception and the restaurant (there is only one), and in the rainy season, that could need some preparation. Facilities are minimal, if you exclude the spa, but that does not detract from the attractiveness of the place, made of beautiful hardwood throughout, with antique-style furnishings. The room was well equipped with minibar (contents free of charge, unusually), safe, TV and so on, but I have to say that we were inside so little it made no difference. Breakfast is simple but good, and dinner is also available, with happy hour cocktails as well. Staff are friendly and helpful, and a limo service picks you up from the airport (ancient Mercedes). Bikes are free from reception, and traffic in both old and new towns moves slowly making cycling a good way to get around (barring the heat). There are beautiful monasteries behind and near the hotel, and the Namkhan river is in front. There are innumerable restaurants and bars in the old town, no more than 5 or 10 minutes walk away. Mosquito repellent may be advisable as there are many open spaces in the hotel. Negatives? Rooms can be dark, as lighting may not illuminate where needed, and there may be trees outside your windows. Nighttime reading was not possible in ours. The basin mirror was set for giants, but the shower head for midgets. My wife could not use the mirror, and I kept banging my head on the shower. Oh, and culturally, 'Let me look into that for you' seems to mean 'Sorry, no'! But the pace of life is so easy, and the people so nice, that it really doesn't matter.
Unbeknownst to us, we arrived during the Lao New Year around mid April. Our booking included a free airport transfer. Upon arrival, we failed to find the transport. After waiting half an hour, we called the hotel and were told that due to the Lao New Year, traffic was bad and we would have to wait an hour. Alternatively, we could find our way ourselves and they would reimburse us for the taxi fare. We decided to take a cab. Upon arrival at the hotel, we complained about the transport let down and were told that since our booking was made directly with them, the transport arrangements were not confirmed. This was contrary to my email exchange with Expedia which clarified that the hotel had confirmed the transport. The inauspicious start was however made up by the friendly service in the week we were there. We were a party of 4 and had 2 upstairs rooms facing the river.,which I highly recommend. My room was above the restaurant and I was initially concerned about the noise but this was unfounded as it was very quiet at night. The loud blaring music during the New Year was switched off at a decent hour. The decor was as featured on their website. We appreciated the Laotion old world charm of the interiors which were all tastefully done. It is situated in a quiet area, whilst still within walking distance to the main street of the Old Town and other main attractions. We dined there every night as it was part of the package. Initially, we were restricted to the set dinners, which we soon tired of, but they allowed us to order a la carte and pay the difference, if any. The food was generally good. I would recommend the hotel for the tasteful design, location and amicable staff. On our last day, whilst walking back to the hotel to leave for the airport, we passed 3 staff on the street who gave us friendly smiles and waves. It was a nice way to end our holiday!
We stayed here in early April - an absolutely amazing experience. great location - right off the main street in Luang Prabang, a heritage property with old Lao style houses converted into rooms - small rooms but tastefully furnished with a small sit-out balcony The staff without exception were very friendly and courteous - we booked our hike through the hotel - very good recommendation on the tour guide. The hotel restaurant is very good - order the local cocktail with Lao rum you can't go wrong with this hotel.
Although we didn't stay at the hotel, we went back to visit the restaurant overlooking the river. Our last visit was some years ago. As we walked down the street towards the restaurant the waiter who we met last time recognized us came to greet us with big smiles and Hellos, once again great service from Mr Air. A lovely place and setting to spend a few hours. Would recommend. Good wine.
The place is elegant but also quite expensive as it is in general Luang Prabang (for tourists of course). Anyway, the hotel is well situated and the breakfast in acceptable. The hotel is in a quiet street but just 5 minutes walking from the main street.
My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights and I will be back. The room was large and had so much character and charm. Comfortable beds with a balcony view overlooking the Nam Khan River. Free water, beer, and snacks daily. Our package included free breakfast and dinner or massage every day. The spa was fantastic and we had our best massages here during our 2 week trip in Asia. The staff is amazing and spoke great English! John, especially was so great as he gave us a morning market tour before our cooking class with Thai Chef Nom. The food was fantastic and we had so much fun. We were escorted to the Mekong (probably less than 10min walk) where we took a sunset cruise with a glass of wine (included in our room rate package). We were here during the water festival and the hotel even provided us with plastic holders we could wear to protect our valuables from the festivities. I plan to go back to this lovely place!
Convenient location, friendly staff and good food. Hotel is quaint and has a good ambience overall. Mosquitoes are a bit of an issue in the rooms and service is slow, however Luang Prabang in general is a very laid back town as a whole. overall we had a good experience. We were travelling with two young children and there was no extra charge for either accommodating them in the room or breakfast.
