Short walk to town so location was excellent. Old building that has been converted to a small niche hotel. Food was outstanding. Service always with a smile. Specialist in spa breaks etc. The town is stunning. Make sure you walk everywhere or you will miss a lot. I have travelled to over one hundred countries and Luang Prabang is probably the most stunning and inspiring small city I have been to.
This hotel has lots of potential. They have a strong leadership team who respond to situations well. We lost something, made a complaint and it was resolved in a professional manner in terms of service recovery. Secondly, the spa was really impressive and I would say it was one of the best experiences I have had for some time traveling around the region. Third, I felt that it was great value for money despite it being one of the more premium options. Fourth, the hotel arranged for transport for a one day tour which we thought was really well done. Now what is not so great about this place: 1. The pool is smaller than you think and not for actual swimming. The whole area around there is pretty small. 2. Breakfast was very average. 3. Rooms seem old and some things look to be falling apart. 4. There were bikes for use but there seemed to be of not suitable size for smaller built people.
Located in walking distance of old town and tourist attractions of Luang Prabang. Service is a great plus. And so is the pool that was important for our 5 year old after a day trip to temples and caves. Will come back next time when we visit LP-
This was our first visit to Luang Prabang, so we looked around and went for what we considered a good up market hotel. We got more than we bargained for. The hotel is situated at one end of the small town, right next to the night market. As foodies we tend to eat out and try the local food, but the food was so good at the hotel we ate there two of our three nights stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole thing was a pleasure. Highly recommended.
Although Sept may not be the ideal period to visit this charming UNESCO town because it was rather hot and humid (with intermittent showers on some days of the month), the trade off was a relaxed pace without the crowds at most 'touristy' areas (i.e. the usual hangouts of this town!) On arrival, the hotel at once exudes a rather regal and elegant old-world charm, being once a Prince's residence! The rooms are comfortable and the location is great, as it is tranquil for the most part (except one morning where the persistent yelping of what sounded like a puppy was heard from across the wall at the backyard). The property is well-maintained and we appreciated the lovely Jasmine essence oil in the burner that was provided on day 1 (you may need to request for a daily refill although the aroma changes daily as we were advised by the housekeeping staff). The ethnic touches of each room made this a memorable stay and we will definitely return to this maison on our next visit to LPQ. Try to stay closer to the pool side if possible, rather than the rooms adjacent to the side street. Jo Ma Cafe became our daily hub for a hearty breakfast with fresh brew daily... the air-con within provided us the respite and cool comfort we need from the humid weather haha! We discovered a decent and clean spa on our last day just a few doors from Jo Ma Cafe - great for foot massages; but do note that body massages require a STEEP ascent on the dark and narrow wooden steps (which I had to forgo as a result) leading to the level 2 (foot massage chairs are on the ground floor). This place provided far better foot massage than a faded run-down shop facing the Mekong River the night before). The standards do vary greatly apparently so do check the reviews on Foot MAssage before stepping in. FInally, do try the hotel's Angsana Spa (one for one offer when we were there!) if you feel like splurging a little.
Peaceful hotel in the city center that you can walk to the night market. Room is big and well equipped. The staffs are very friendly. They are very helpful. They can give you advice about traveling in Luangprabang. I spent the time in Spa too. The massage is great.
My wife and I stayed for a long weekend and we loved this hotel. The location was great, the morning breakfast was delicious, the pool was very nice, and the service was great. The one thing that didn't go great was we were told the water was included with our room but we were charged for a certain type of water as not all of the water bottle types were the same apparently. However, the hotel staff refunded us the charge which was great customer service. A note to future travelers - make sure what water is free is clarified when you are shown your room. Overall, we would recommend this hotel.
The hotel was price old resident. We stayed four nights. It is very close to the Main Street and night market is 10 minutes easy walk. You can see the morning alms giving ceremony almost next to hotel. Food is very good
Great location (very close to all the key sights, cafes, restaurants, the night market, etc.). The staff were very attentive and really went an extra mile to make our stay a special experience. Thank you!
We stayed twice in a week time frame with a 4 days trek in the middle. First stay (2 nights, 3 rooms for 6 people, family with 4 kids) was ok despite a bit noisy hotel (room, nearby temple and breakfast lounge music). Second stay was a disaster. Hôtel full, 3rd room was not available, trainees not trained to serve you, free massage... but no available slot so no massage possible. Disappointing.
