Mercure Parkhotel Krefelder Hof

This was our third, short stay at the Parkhotel. We use it as a base to visit family members who live close by. Therefore, we're mostly interested in a comfortable night's sleep and a decent breakfast the next morning, and the Parkhotel ticks both of those boxes. The hotel is set in grounds away from the main road that runs outside, and there's a good size car park on-site. It's about a 20 minute drive from Dusseldorf airport. It's not located in the middle of Krefeld, it's sited in more of a residential location. We stayed in one of the hotel's Privilege rooms which, thankfully, had air conditioning (not all rooms do). There's plenty of wardrobe space and a safe to store any valuables. The en-suite wc/shower room is bright and there's a magnifying mirror and hair dryer to hand. Everything worked. The buffet breakfast has plenty to choose from, although the hot dishes were warm rather than hot. There's fruit, ham, cheese, breads, pastries, jams, honey, etc. etc. in plentiful supply. The hotel's staff are polite and courteous and, overall, the premises were clean. there's a swimming pool and sauna room in the basement if you care to use them. No doubt we'll be staying there again when we visit our family.

I stayed here for one night this week 20minute trip from Dusseldorf airport. Reception were helpful and spoke English I was on first floor but should have taken stairs over past bar area but went up the lift and couldn't access my room Room was a bit stuffy but opened the windows for some fresh air ok All tidy & clean with a good WiFi link. Single duvet provided for the double bed as was only occupant to room. Had a very tasty meal of skewered King Prawns & Octopus on a bed of Lemon Grass Risotto - this was a special on the chalk board and description didn't mention Octopus - advise asking for translation before ordering Justin case you don't like "suckers" - not an issue for me. Usual German continental Breakfast with hot sausage, bacon & eggs. Check out was simple and expedited promptly Enjoyable stay

In a very nice suburb, the staff were very kind and helpful in the reception, the bar the restaurant etc.Good breakfast . It's 25 minutes from Dusseldorf. Only 2 problems. 1 Floor 4 with smoking room there is no air condition in the rooms, when I stayed there it was 37 degrees outside!!! They don't note it in the website... after that I complained they put a Ventilator in my room!!!! 2/ It is not possible to adjust the water the holes of the douche in the shower (it's strong or weak)

Hot summer (32 deg) no air con. Even though hotel was very low occupancy nobody bother to take care not to put me in east facing room. Was terrible. Elevator from 1969 extremely slow. Very old and tired facility. This all is fine if the price is 70€ But when you pay €160 you expect MUCH MORE. Very low value for money.

First I have stayed here many times and given very good reviews of this hotel. I travel here many times in the past 10 years. This time I tried to look at more aspect and give more detail. Front desk staff- Excellent! Always very friendly and helpful. Location- very nice quiet area close to park and a small zoo. The hotel has bikes for rent for a minimal fee and it is a nice area for a walk. Restaurant- Though I did not eat in the restaurant this visit I always recommend their breakfast, plenty of choices. I tried to order a pizza room service as I was very worn out from travel, they advertise these in the room with a card. Surprise NO PIZZA. Why do so many German restaurants not keep up with their own menus. I had the schnitzel instead and it was good as usual. Bar- could not tell you, as it was never open at the advertise times. The front desk staff in the morning claimed it opens it one our later than advertise, but not when I ever checked, and it was clearly closed one whole night during my stay. So don't expect a night cap unless it is an overpriced beer from your mini bar. Room- standard German room though mine was an "upgrade" I want to say this hotel has the worst pillows ever! This is the area where they could get this biggest improvement in room comfort. I mean the pillows they have very little filling, even when using the 1 extra from the closet I woke up everyday will horrible neck pain. Room was kept clean, I have always thought the housekeeping staff do a good job here. So my recommendation, it's an acceptable stay but bring your own pillow or you will need 3 extra from the hotel.

The room was a bit out-dated, but had all comfort! We took advantage of the pillow-shop and had a great night of rest. The sauna is good, but the water in the swimming pool is too cold, the temperature in the pool area is also a bit low. The bar is expensive and you don't get much drink. We ordered a bacardi and a passoa, the passoa only was 1cm of fluid, the bacardi 1.5cm, no measuring cup was used. You also need lots of time to get your drinks. The breakfast was great. A big choice of bread and pastry, fruit, eggs, yoghurt, sweet spread ....... Friendly personnel at the restaurant as well. The check in and check out were fluently, although the receptionist forgot to mark we paid by voucher and we almost needed to pay on checkout. Overall we had a good stay

This is a well located hotel and it has a very friendly atmosphere. A bit of a mix up at breakfast which was included in our Accor booking but not on the hotel's list so reception did quickly resolve the matter. Breakfast was very good.

Never been to a better hotel. The food and service was amazing everybody was so good to us.The rooms are excellent, very tidy and clean and the bathroom is very modern. If i had to say something about the brekfast it will be two things....THE BEST!

The staff is very helpful and polite. If you get here early they always try to get you to your room even if it is not quite checkin time. That is very kind of them. The food is excellent. The breakfast spread is very enjoyable. We had dinner, lunch and breakfast here - and all the meals are pretty tasty. Spent two nights here on business. This is not a luxury hotel so keep expectations tempered. It can be a little tricky to drive to, but if you have the GPS it is not too difficult. Rooms are basic and very functional. Prices are very reasonable, and I would not hestitate to stay here again.

Hotel is clean and tidy but it is no longer 4-star. Bathrooms are most modern and neat but rooms with fitted carpet, small closet and tight corridor. Bed is decent. Heating worked well. "Gym" is just a word; bike, stepper and jogging mat in small room without any soft matts or other gear. Sauna was closed at 19.00 hours. Good brekkie with lot of variety. Would probably stay here again if other choice is a B&B but higher quality hotel would be preferred. Price level somewhat higher compared to local non-chain hotels. Premium WIFI is payable, standard lower capacity one is free of charge and worked pretty well.
