Let me review this apartment taking into account the full experience of our stay. The host communicates well. Check-in instructions are detailed and include pictures, which is helpful. However, the final and most accurate instructions are sent about 15 minutes before check-in. Earlier instructions are provided in advance, but we found them somewhat confusing. To access the building: drive on Chestnut Street (a one-way street). The building is located on the same block as the Hilton Garden Inn. After passing the Hilton Garden Inn, turn right mid-block as if entering the hotel parking area. Instead of parking there, continue straight and take the first left inside the building entrance area. The Henry Clay is a historic building. It is clean and well maintained, but it is not modern or recently renovated. Its appeal is in its character and history. If you are looking for a contemporary, upscale, hotel-style environment (such as the Omni), this may not meet those expectations. That said, if you appreciate unique, historic spaces, this apartment offers a distinctive experience. While the décor feels somewhat dated, it is clean and inviting. Amenities function properly, and the king bedroom is spacious and comfortable. We were out most of the day and primarily used the apartment for evenings and sleeping. For that purpose, it worked very well and we had comfortable nights. Considering the price and the excellent location, it represents strong value.

The whole place did not reflect what we seen on the listing. The hallway wasn’t clean or had good lighting. No historical look other than what you seen on 1st floor when entering building. Room wasn’t clean and on concrete floors. Didn’t seem to be a very safe place to stay. Called and left messages to be called back due to not being happy or satiated with room and place and was never contacted back at all !!

The apartment itself was clean and very nice! It was spacious! The hallway was disgusting with dirty carpet. But the apartment was nice and clean. We did rent the garage which was convenient, a little creepy because it is an old building and it is under the building. The communication was good however, the wi-finwas down and never got connected! Then we got slapped with a cleaning fee that was never explained. So that was a shock. We are in our 60’s and left the place in good shape. We never saw anyone else in the building either.

The building is definitely a bit shabby and not as pristine as it looked in the pictures The apartment was very nice and very roomy. It’s decorated minimalist but it works! The bathroom was great and the shower was nice. Comfy bed and big bedroom! Overall clean neat and comfortable for me! 5/5

It was awesome. The weather was crazy, hot and humid so I would rush to the apartment to get comfortable. I had the opportunity to stay at the Omni hotel during my business trip but I am glad I chose the Henry Clay apartment. So quiet lots of room love the cement floors really nice experience.

Fascinating Building & Apartment
Had a wonderful stay at this apartment, recently. The apartment is in a surprisingly interesting, older mixed use building, but it was very sparsely populated.Parking is adjacent to the building, but you enter from the ground level, or possibly through the 4th floor of the Hilton (there is a hallway, but did not check to see if the doors were unlocked).Anyway, the apartment is very nice. Full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, and a king size bed. Full linens, plenty of towels & toiletries.Host communication was prompt and professional. I would highly recommend and will gladly book with Matt again, when back in town. All in all, an excellent property, in a very convenient location.
