Beachfront Hideaway - Pet Friendly, Hot Tub, EV
Escape to Northern Neck’s Hidden Paradise!
Inspired by the vibrant colors and laid-back décor of the Florida Keys and the warmth of my native Northeastern Brazil, my husband and I have created this peaceful haven just for you. Whether you're soaking in serenity or seeking adventure, this waterfront retreat is designed to melt away your stress. Picture yourself unwinding in the luxurious 7-person Marquis Crown Collection hot tub, only 15 feet from the soothing rhythm of gentle waves. The space The Location:
Just a 2-hour drive from Washington, D.C., you'll find our Hideaway in the tranquil town of Lottsburg, VA. From our private dock, gaze out at the beautiful Maryland shoreline just 4 miles across the water, or witness the awe-inspiring convergence of the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. Fishing enthusiasts will love the opportunity to catch drum, bluefish, rockfish, and some of the largest blue crabs right off the dock (in season, of course!). Feel like paddling out into the calm waters? We’ve got kayaks ready for you. For boaters, the Lewisetta marina with ramp access is just 5 minutes away.
Renovated in October 2024, every detail of our home was carefully designed with your comfort in mind. We’ve yet to find another vacation spot on the Northern Neck that offers this level of amenities paired with such stunning views.
What Awaits You: • 100+ feet of private beach for you to enjoy (subject to tides and weather – nature keeps us on our toes) • A 7-Person Marquis Crown Collection Hot Tub model with a privacy wall for ultimate relaxation. • Kayaks with paddles and life jackets for exploring the water. • Outdoor dining area with a space heater to keep you cozy on cool nights. • Blazing-fast broadband internet for those who need to stay connected. • A ChargePoint Level 2 EV Charger (J1772) for eco-friendly travelers. • A fully equipped coffee station to kickstart your mornings. • Telescope for stargazing or spying on the passing boats (or what folks across the bay are having for breakfast!). • Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, and multiple phone chargers for all your entertainment needs. • Gas fireplace for cozy indoor nights. • Al fresco shower to rinse off after a day of fun in the sun. • Fully stocked kitchen to accommodate long stays and culinary adventures. • Gas grill and Blackstone griddle for grilling up your fresh catch. • Washer and dryer to keep everything fresh during your stay. • Pet-friendly! We love our furry family members and welcome you to bring yours along.
Whether you're seeking adventure or just want to kick back and relax, Northern Neck’s Hideaway has everything you need for an unforgettable stay. We can’t wait to welcome you! Guest access Smart lock, code provided prior to arrival. Parking for three cars with ample room if you have a boat in tow (let us know before hand and we can take measurements if necessary). Unfortunately, there is no parking on the street. Other things to note HISTORY: George Washington was born and lived his first three years at a large farm on the Northern Neck where you can visit and experience beautiful views of the tidewater lands similar to what George would have experienced. It’s a wonderful place to learn about Washington’s upbringing and future as a Virginia gentleman farmer.
Visit Reedville, where Maine sea captain Elijah Reed purchased the land in 1874 and began the menhaden fishing industry. Its location on a peninsula, jutting into Cockrell’s Creek, with a deep harbor and quick access to the Chesapeake Bay, made Reedville an ideal fishing port. The menhaden industry was so lucrative the town, with only 500 inhabitants, was once known as the wealthiest town in the United States. The lovely site, along with a large Visitor Center, recreations of the homestead, natural trails and our favorite spot – the Reedville Fisherman’s Museum.
ENTERTAINMENT CENTER: But what if it rains? No worries as the home is close to the new "Compass" Center, with 6 screen movie theater, go-carts, mini-golf, and rock climbing. The movie theater seats are some of the most comfortable we have ever seen. Drive 30 min. to the larger town of Kilmarnock for shopping and more dining options.
STATE PARKS: There are also 3 Virginia State Parks along the shoreline of the Northern Neck—Caledon and Westmoreland border the Potomac River, and Belle Isle hugs the Rappahannock River to the south. All are certainly worth checking out. Now some specifics:
IMPORTANT: Please note that this is a residential community that has some vacation rentals, it is not a vacation community and the cottage is a home, not an investment property. Please be respectful of the neighbors. People buy here for the peace and quiet. This is a vacation best suited to those who seek the same.
Water: Swimming is at your own risk. Never jump or dive off a dock. There are known to be large rocks in the Potomac River that can be extremely dangerous.
HOT TUB: The hot tub is private and use is at your own risk. There are very specific rules regarding its use; it is expensive to maintain and to fix. Failure to adhere to the posted rules and any other rules communicated here may result in a monetary claim to cover any related expenses, downtime, and inconvenience. Please, no food or drinks in the tub. Do not sit on the sides and keep the cover on the side between the tub and the privacy wall when using – do not put it in the grass. When not using, please return the cover and ensure it is buckled into place as the winds can be strong coming off the water. Thanks for your understanding and we hope you enjoy the hot tub.
Kayaks: Please keep them on the kayak rack next to the house while not in use. Do not leave them on the dock or the beach unattended. The winds and tides can change quickly and will carry them away. We have provided adult and child size life jackets for your use.
Bunk Beds: Use of the bunk beds is at your own risk. Grill and Griddle: they are connected to the gas tank, so please do not attempt to move them. Please clean after each use.
The cottage is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms and a dining area. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker. Change of towels is available on request.

We actually gave this to our son and daughter in law for their honeymoon. When they got there the owners had decorated the house with candles, balloons, goodies and a picture of them. They said everything was amazing and plan on going back for their first anniversary.

A great weekend in a great setting. The place was cute and bright, in a quiet neighborhood, and right on the water. We caught & steamed crabs, we sat out on the deck and watched the water, we cooked dinner, saw shooting stars from the hot tub. Kitchen very well stocked with good tools. Dedicated easy parking. Dog loved it. Neighbors were quiet, and also out catching crabs like us. Bald eagles flying around. Plenty of towels. In terms of location, it's an hour from Washington's birthplace, Pope's Creek and Stratford Hall. 30 minutes to lunch on the water at Horn Harbor. 15 minutes to Food Lion. My only feedback for improvement is that I wish the beds were softer.

PERFECTION!
The water views are beyond picture-perfect. The owners clearly put great care into providing every amenity you could think of! The home is clean, beautifully decorated, and the views from inside are simply unbeatable. Step outside onto expansive decking, enjoy the fantastic hot tub, stroll down to the private beach, or relax by the dock - it’s all incredible. Brian and Clara were responsive, and were extra thoughtful with our welcome! We enjoyed every second of our trip - fishing, kayaking, swimming, sitting by the fire pit, and soaking in the hot tub. Honestly, though, I think our dog may have loved the water even more than we did! Missing the views already!

Perfect get away spot
From the time we arrived, we were enjoying the beautiful view. The host really made our stay wonderful as the home is set up with everything you need and then some extras. We really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board during the day and brought along some floats for a little relaxation in the water. After dinner, we enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful sunset. We all left there well rested and wanting to come back soon. It was the perfect get away to kick off summer.

Great location for a getaway.
I booked this rental for a week to fish from my kayak because it was a waterfront property with access to the bay. There is a huge ma and pap hunting/fishing store 10 min away that I would recommend to pick up bait and gear. I did catch some keeper size crabs right off the dock as well as a nice sized shad in the coan river area with a minnow. To those looking to spend time on the water this is a great location. There is even a private sandy beach with room to put towels down and relax by the water. There are not a ton of restaurants or non water related activities nearby, but this was not a problem because I was busy boating in the nice weather all week. I did pick up some steamed crabs from a nearby seafood market that were tasty. There was one day that the wind was low and the biting flies terrorized my dog to the point she was bleeding. This happened close to shore about a quarter mile NW of Judith sound where I believe there was stagnant water nearby. Those suckers are tenacious and followed me and my dog over a mile out into open water, but I did not have any issues with flies near the rental or anywhere else. They may have been attracted to the stinky shrimp I was using as bait. I also really enjoyed the hottub in the evenings when the temperatures dropped. It is a high end model and well maintained. Overall I would recommend this rental.

Well appointed property and beautiful location
This was a great place for a December get-away. The location was lovely, and well stocked, with a full kitchen for those who like to cook, herbs, spices, condiments, cleaning supplies, fluffy bathrobes, q-tips, laundry detergent, etc. We needed to communicate wtih the owners a few times, and they were a pleasure to talk to. We decided to spend a little more on our get-away, and it was totally worth it.
