We booked a room, received confirmation, arrived at 4pm to a hotel that was locked and no staff. Called the number they had posted and was connected to a very rude person. We explained our situation, gave them our confirmation number and was told they saw the confirmation but could not help us without filling out some on-line form for our credit card. The site kept rejecting info and disconnected. After a couple of attempts I was told to find a different hotel. I went to Ibis and they told me they here this story often from others that have to find another place to stay because Appart City is THAT BAD!!!!
This aparthotel is an ideal place for a short break Great location for our rugby tour, town centre just around the corner, great bars, restaurants, café bars. At the time of our trip there was a festival celebrating prunes which the area is very well known for there was thousands in the parade, concerts, bands playing all weekend really worth the visit. I will return one day cannot wait.
A great location for a visit to Agen. Parking at the hotel, so great for getting luggage in. Clean and smart. Friendly reception staff. In the centre of Agen and so all of the historic areas are close by. Room had great facilities, including aircon and a fridge. Great value for money.
Appart'City is a comfortable, well located apartment style hotel in the centre of Agen. Their staff are friendly and helpful and reception staff speak English. However their policy of charging for small additional items was annoying. Additional charges were for room wifi, bike storage (first time ever that I have been charged for this), hairdryer and arriving early. Why don't they just add a few Euro to the room rate and impress guests with how the price includes everything.
Small but adequate room, with ditto kitchenette, tho not needed for overnight stay. Main challenges are finding it, in a very narrow and complicated part of the town centre, and even worse, locating the poorly signposted car park with its extremely tight entry. Not recommended for large vehicles. Returning at 10pm, when reception is unmanned, three separate guests found no way to get the code-driven door open. Calling the pay-by-the-minute Help number elicited only music. After 15 minutes, following the code with a violent two-handed shove finally did the trick. The French love of gadgetry can sometimes be a burden.
Visiting friends in Agen over the weekend, and booked my self 2 days at Appart'City. Friendly staff, very clean, and close to the main railway station in the heart of the town centre. Free car park, and nice breakfast.. I will recommended to anyone who are planning to visit the city of Agen.
Appart'City are great and classic stop over very convenient for short stay with a fully functioning kitchen. The only thing is that you have to make sure to clean after yourself otherwise you will be charged and the wifi is also not free. It's clean, the rooms are of a decent size and our place felt quite new and modern. It was nicely located close to many patisserie, shopping streets and market, etc.
These are clean modern apartments very close to the centre of town and they are outstanding value. We booked though booking.com. and arrived on a Sunday to find reception closed. After searching the lobby we found some numbers to call, all of which went to message bank. We finally dialed someone who kindly connected us to someone else who gave us the code to the safe in the lobby where our key was located. Other guests stranded in the lobby told us that you are supposed to receive the code to the safe via your cell phone. This didn't happen for us. Once in our room it was great except for the air conditioning which didn't appear to be connected. Setting the wall control to near freezing temperatures only resulted in the same hot hair blowing through the vent. On Monday morning when we left, reception was humming with friendly staff smiling and being helpful.
the good points: clean, central, cooker, fridge, air con, good shower internet in the room if you have a laptop, tv but its in french but tvs arent why you go on holiday. the bad points: trying to get into the hotel if your late in is tricky after a long journey or stressful one you want life to be easy, we had to guess where the parking was and i wouldnt advise having a minbus or big car for navigating the small streets, like we did but got down them safe enough without a scratch. luckily we didnt have to ring the number to help us as we worked it out. If you get there during the day no problem you have receptionist to assist who does speak OK english. good luck finding your room keys though luckily the receptionist was passing through when we arrived before she went out and gave us our keys. NO BED just a sofa bed and they squeak when you move, it is rock hard with a small really soft pillow, a few rough nights sleep. Bring your own hangers if you want to hang something up in the wardrobe. if you want internet on your phone you have to go into reception otherwise laptop can be hooked up in the room it says it costs 1 Euro but not sure if this is charged. not sure if it was our room electrics but it kept shorting out. summary: i would say i have stayed in better for around the same price with a bed but as it stands, it was ok for a couple of nights if your just looking for somewhere quick located near the centre. i would probably stay here again if there wasnt a better offer. Really easy to find from the train station as well.
Very clean apartment with basic needs. Great location for central Agen just a shame about the "bed." It was a very hard sofa bed that squeaked with every movement and just two very soft pillows for two people. I didn't book this but through my mum on a family holiday and be aware the receptionist does leave quite early - bit of mayhem if your flight is delayed and you don't know how to park/get in. In addition to this wifi is only obtained in the main hall so take a laptop if you need internet as an ethernet is provided but from the French instructions it is unclear about charges (almost everything is done in French even though the receptionist speaks ok English). All-in-all it is ok and if you need the basics then everything is there.
