We were very excited about this stay because the location is excellent, but the unit itself was disappointing.I booked it specifically because it was listed as a non-smoking unit, yet the moment we walked in, we could smell stale smoke. It wasn’t overwhelming, but it was definitely noticeable, and I never would have booked this place had I known.The bathroom was spacious, but the lighting was only above the sink. With the long, angular layout, there was no light near the toilet. The ceiling vent made a loud rattling noise, so we couldn’t use it while showering. The bottom part of the shower curtain had visible pink mold.We were booked for 2 adults and 2 kids, but the unit only had 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel. Nothing else. I reached out to the host for more but received no response.The bedroom was comfortable, and the bed itself was great. You can hear traffic from the street, but as a former LA resident, that wasn’t an issue for me.The balcony screen was off its track and unusable, so we didn’t open the balcony except when we first arrived.There was gated parking which was great. Its a bit tricky to find the designated spot at first but i was very thankful to have parking included.Overall, I expected better cleanliness and upkeep for a VRBO in this area. I also expected better communication from the host — they never responded to messages during our stay, and I never received any checkout instructions, even after asking directly.
