Room was on the first level and clean. Executive bedroom was a little small to store clothes but there was a shelf in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a good size and water pressure was great. The WiFi worked most of the time but did need to be reset. The pool hours need to be extended past 10PM, and there needs to be an ICE Machine! It's too Hot to be searching for ice in town! (and getting a little bag at the hotel restaurant is insufficient)
Great hotel with an outdoor pool. Although The hotel does have it's own courtyard parking. We preferred to leave our car on the US side in the Quechan Border Parking Lot. It was an easy walk across the border to the hotel. The rooms and pool are well kept and comfortable. Our room had only a shower, no tub, but the shower was a very good size. There are two floors in this hotel, the upper floor is accessed by way of stairs only, no elevator. The hotel has a restaurant but the posted hours aren't dependable. We were hoping to have a late dinner but it had closed earlier than posted. There is also a great little coffee/bake shop at the hotel. A/C works great. Would love to stay here again.
We were in Los Algodones for extensive dental work, so we stayed a week. It was such a pleasant experience, and so nice not to have to bother with crossing the border daily to stay in Yuma. We parked in the large overnight lot on the American side and walked with our luggage (I recommend having good wheels on the luggage!) across the border to the Purple Store and called the hotel. They came to pick us up and were very helpful when we checked in, telling us they'd take us to the dentist for our appointments, giving us the hours of their restaurant and pool, and making us feel welcome. The room was good sized with comfortable beds, very basic but clean and pleasant. The Wifi worked well, the cleaning crew was friendly and helpful when we needed something extra, and the restaurant had good, basic food including some choices suitable for those with sore mouths after dental work! Morning coffee was good and free in the restaurant,, and they offered to deliver meals to our room if we wanted (Thank you, Brian!) All in all, we'd happily go back just to relax for a few days. We'd take our car across the border next time and do some exploring farther afield in Baja. But if you want to stay in Los Algodones, you can't beat this hotel.
I was so pleasantly surprised with this wonderful place to stay in such a small Mexico border town. The rooms are basic (tile floors, no frig or microwave except in suites) but spotlessly clean and very comfortable newer beds! The service is perfect especially because of the friendly people. The owner is wonderful and has the highest expectations of his employees. Their restaurant is so nice, nothing fancy but spotlessly clean like the hotel with a very nice menu. The food is very good and very affordable. By the end of May, they are moving their bakery and coffee shop to the area right next door to the office. It was located down one block but very worth the short walk. Special thanks to the helpful and accommodating owner and to Brian! We are really looking forward to our next visit!
The Mayor owns this fabulous newer hotel. It's the only place I stay with my 10 pound Chihiaha. Live in Palm Springs where dental care costs are insane! Come-on, $1200 for a root canal another $300 for an impression, then $2000 for a crown. At Alamo Dental near the border, xrays included, two root canals, impressions, then 4 crowns for $1700. ADA Dental Group. Root canal doc was superb, no pain, and 20 minutes. This time getting 1 root canal, 2 crowns, deep cleaning with numbing and whitening trays with peroxide mixture.
We were surprised at how nice & new this place is. The staff are all helpful & attentive. The room was extremely clean, lots of hot water, comfy bed & it was within easy walking distance of everything. The pool looked very inviting although it was too cold to use it. The only negatives I have are the extremely noisy fan in the bathroom & the irritating smell of the cleaning solution. The towels were large & fluffy. The bed linens could have been a little softer, but they were fine . The adjoining restaurant was convenient & the food was OK. It's pretty bland, but most of the other patrons liked it. The morning waiter was great, but the evening guy was not so good. He brought one table their margaritas after they finished their meal. He wouldn't bring us our bill until my husband asked for it. I had already done so, but he ignored me. Irritating, but not important. All in all, this place passes up the 2 other hotels in town as far as I'm concerned. We will stay there again next time.
Rooms are small and clean. Comfortable beds and very friendly staff. Small but beautiful pool. The food at the Margaritas Restaurant on site is excellent and reasonably priced. Secure parking as well.
3rd time in Algodones. No hotels before so this is new. You can't go wrong. Discounted is you are seeing an affiliated professional. Good food, good drinks at good prices. Rooms are comfortable. I didn't see a SINGLE insect the whole time! I had one small issue and it was resolved immediately and has not repeated. The front desk staff is very polite, efficient and proficient in English. There is a nice little pool but it was too cold. A bit chilly in the rooms in the a.m. but honestly, at 116*F in summer, heaters and their electrical costs are not feasible. Bring a sweat suit or buy a blanket in the market. The location is 2 blocks from the main street which means it's quiet at night and still within walking distance to everything. This is a true asset to Algodones compared to commuting to Yuma for daily work. Oh, my reservation was not recorded properly so I was upgraded to a nicer room for no additional charge! Also, traveling alone as a female, I never once felt that I was in a dangerous situation. In future trips to Algodones, I will always stay here. PS Housekeeping is not included but is available at your request.
If an overnight in Los Algodones is need you can't beat this lovely small hotel. Its pricing is great, the rooms are clean, not fancy but comfortable and the attached restaurant has some of the best homemade Mexican food.
The hotel was the cleanest I've ever stayed in! The staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodated our every need! Safe, convenient, clean, and well worth the low price! We stayed several days, and spent lots of time by the pool!
